Pernicious Deed + Chalice of the Void

If I pay two mana for a chalice for 1, can I pernicious deed for one and not blow up the chalice? Or does the Chalice always have a CC of 0?

I'm fairly sure that Chalice has a CMC of 2 ONLY on the stack. Everywhere else it is 0, so you would kill it with deed.

Yeah, an activation of Deed for 0 will nuke any number of Chalices of the Void with any number of counters on them. Once in play, the card only knows its casting cost, and [x][x], no matter how much they were on the stack, is always 0 in play.
