It might have to do with it not being a magic card he was selling
These cards are oversized and were packaged with 8th Edition booster boxes at a rate of one box topper per 8th Edition booster box. They measure 4 1/4" x 6". They are not legal for tournament play.

I just love my guy. He's like "my cards are legit." even though he's selling something that never existed. Also, no feedback on the guy at all.

Agreed. I know a n1nj4, so I know e-bay scams. That is definitely NOT an E-bay Scam.
Pwnd.

But he didn't even bother taking the Arabian Nights expansion symbol off of the card image.

If you check his other auctions (specifically the force of nature) it says the picture is for reference.

I think there have been only 2 PSA graded 10 Black Lotuses that I have seen/heard about on E-Bay. My guess worth 10-15k TOPS.

I understand but that doesn't change the fact that the card doesn't exist.

There are only 2 PSA 10 Black Lotus's know to exist. The last one sold in the $19,000 range. That was like 5 years ago, this is an amazing card and is NOT a scam. It’s a real card, if someone wants to pay $50 grand for it, that’s there problem. I think it’s more a case of a dealer trying to find someone willing to pay that much.
Look at the sealed case of Arabian Nights in the original shipping container that sold a few years back. The auction was at gen con and it sold for $60,000 I think. Its est. value was only like $2,000 a box...you never know when someone will pay a lot more than something is worth just to own it...

That auction is basically a pissing contest between that seller and another. He listed it that high so he can show it off, but no one will buy it.

Nightmare's assessment makes the most sense in this case; no one person would be willing to pay that much just for a black lotus.
But you never know, Dean Anderson may buy it...
Not a scam, but something I just found in the information of a seller's auctions:
All cards are Fine to Mint unless otherwise stated.
Condition is determined using leading price guide standards.
Scans are available upon request.
Grading Scale:
* Mint - Only the best, finest, untouched cards.
* Near Mint (NM) - Nearly flawless, a card that has one or two very minor, barely visible , flaws.
* EX - A few visible flaws; slightly played condition.
* Fine - Slightly played condition. Slightly whitened corners or other signs of play.
I think there have been only 2 PSA graded 10 Black Lotuses that I have seen/heard about on E-Bay. My guess worth 10-15k TOPS.

For what it's worth, PSA and BGS grading are different. Beckett grading is more stringent, and generally more respected, so a BGS 10 is better than a PSA 10.

From what I have read the more money you throw at PSA for gradings the better grades you get. For instance if you constantly send in cards to get graded (I'm talking an account that spends hundreds or thousands a year on grading) you will def get a higher grade than someone who sends in a card or two per year.

I've been in contact with him for a few days, asking for more pictures. He signs his messages with two different names. Gives me a myspace account name with no pics of cards and the fact the myspace account belongs to a chick. A guy selling this much stuff with zero feedback and would prefer not to use paypal.

I find it funnier that he lists mox diamond x4, mox emerald, mox pearl, then lightning bolt x14!.
Like it's the quantity of lightning bolts that's just insane.

He has 4 Door to Nothingness!
Ask the seller if you can come personally pick it up and inspect the cards for authenticity and then pay him after you've verified that they're real.

Word! I was just going through whats left of my collection getting ready to put some stuff up on ebay and turns out I have 26 lightning bolts, 33 Hymns, and 81 high tides. <3 my buying habits.
The best part of his auction is obviously:
...all i know is that ive probably put $7,000 or more into my cards... so i would hope to at least get $250.00...

I've got hymns and bolts , but they are less than 20, so meh.
I guess I've got same habit as you do. I cannot just pass by common section whenever I go to a card store.

I saw someone selling stolen cards on e-bay once. I ended up reporting it to Wizards. They were nice cards too.
