back in tempest block constructed, cursed scroll was the chasiest of the chase-rares, and an auto include in most of the decks around (it was pretty much the jitte or tarmogoyf of rath cycle). it was one of the first few cards (as I was a young noobish 13 yo beginner at the time) that I saw soar over the 20$ mark
since then though, the card has seen less and less play, to the point where it's not used at all (or almost). however I was rather surprised to see that, for a card that is used so little, it still packs a 14$ price tag. I mean, dark confidant is a heavily used card over several formats, and it lost 1/3rd of it price when it rotated out of T2, and was never as expensive as that. jitte is like 10$ and it's overall a better card than scroll is, and still sees a good deal of play
many other tempest cards that were worth big bucks back then have devalued a whole lot. cards like tradewind rider, reflecting pool, living death... and that are seeing just as much use as the scroll, are like 4$ rares nowadays. so it can't just be on antiquity and card availability
so, why do you think the scroll is still worth so much?
