Hey, first of all:

@ MODS: FEEL FREE TO LOCK, DISMISS, MOVE, REMOVE AND ESPECIALLY RENAME THIS THREAD!!!
@ ALL: I am thinking of banning of Goyf in Extended, not in Legacy. Although it may seem unimportant to brainstorm on Ext. ban on Legacy forum, it is not. And all of us know why.

Because of money. As that dude costs USD 40+, I really dont wanna lose my money the day after its banning in Ext, when that beast falls to... And that is another point not known... 39 USD? 15 USD?

And we cannot wait until tomorrow, at least I think so. With nowadays Goyf hysteria, You cannot rely on the fact that shops would not realize the fact that Goyf has been banned for more than few minutes...

With the fact that Goyf will affect the Extended format for:
- roughly six years
- in not very fashionable way...
.. I am not sure, if this hoax of banning is just a hoax.

Questions are:
1) Do You think that tomorrow will be the day of Goyf been banned in Ext.?
2) Sell Goyfs now?
3) Wait to see what happens?

Once again - if this thread is online in any place on Source, I ask the mods to remove this one and give me a one-minute warning ban... Thx in advance!!!

PS: Us been paranoid does not necessarily mean that we are not spied on...

Banning Goyf is very bad for the secondary market.

I predict either Sensei's Divining Top or Narcomoeba (or both) will be banned in the Extended format.

See, I was almost thinking it would be best if it were the other way around (Banned in Legacy, OK in Extended). That way I could still get rid of my Goyfs to extended players because I wouldn't need them for Legacy anymore. Goyf has warped the format so much that people question whether to splash green in any deck for him which is rediculus but in most cases a good choice.

My guess? Nothing will come off the ban list and nothing wil go on it.

Although Tarmogoyf is very very powerful, it still is just a creature without evasion. It does not win games the turn you play it, nor does it form winning two card combo's with protection. There are enough versatile answers in Extended and Legacy (Counterbalance, EE,...), so while decks have to consider the threat of Tarmogoyf, they don't have to go (far) out of their way to stop the guy.

Goyf would end up only allowed in both Vintage and Block is they were to ban it in both Extended and this format.

But if it comes to no shock that Goyf isn't banned, then it's another 3 months roughing it out once again.

I dont think so. Goyfmania is already so high that it is impossible to warp format even one inch more. If they do not ban it tomorrow, thaen they will ban it never.

To quote a post from a few days ago:

You can also buy a pack of Future Sight and pull a Goyf.

And for this very reason, Goyf won't be banned anywhere as long as it is legal in Type 2. Jitte was far more format-warping in T2 and it was never hit by the banhammer (although it deserved it), simply because Wizards made loads of money with Betrayers Preconstructed boxes. And I read somewhere that Future Sight didn't sell that well (oh well, at that time, Goyf was still below 20$).
