I'll probably be at this one, although it's a month out so you never know what life might dredge up in the meantime.

I had a lot of fun at the last one and it's definitely worth the trip. Let's get 33+ people there and add another solid Legacy tourney to the meta.

Im pretty sure this event is going to be hurting from the one in hadley the same day. Better prize support, and cheaper entry fee, and for me about a hour closer. One of the dates will have to be moved if you want a good turnout for this thing.

Edit: Ignore me, im stupid

I'm probably 60/40 to make it at this point. It's supposed to be raining on Saturday with a few thunderstorms. I'll drive through that. If it's pouring heavily and the forecast is thunderstorms all day then I'll give it a pass. Four hours of driving in the slop is just not fun regardless of what you get to do in the middle.

If someone has extra survivals for trade, please bring them with you, cause i'd realy like to trade for them. Its too late to put them in my deck for this tourny, but if i can get em this weekend i could have em in for next week's hadly tourny.

Does the store have any survivals or arcbound ravagers? Cause if it does i might just have to make a deal with the devil to give me some unhealthy amounts of luck so i can get into the prizemoney on this tourny.

PS, i always post this way too close to the tourny dates, but if anyone needs a ride from Worcester to this, send me a PM, as i'm driving solo to this.

Ah yes, Roddy is right, I was actually just missing a deck list. Apparently whoever it was Dropped and took their deck list right after round 4 began.
Anyways, here is the Meta game Breakdown:
32 Players:
-4 Dreadstill
2 Ug
1 Ur
1 Uw
-3 Rbg Vial Goblins
-2 RGBSA
-2 Dragon Stompy
-3 Storm Based Combo
1 SI
1 Fetchland Tendrils
1 Solidarity
-3 Threshold
1 UGRb Counter-Top
1 UGR Canadian Thresh
1 UGw Counter-Top
-2 Landstill
1 Ugb Counter-Top
1 UWb Cunning
-13 Other decks
1 Faerie Stompy
1 Goyf Sligh
1 Domain Sligh
1 UGb Intuition Control
1 UGB Counter-Top Fish
2 UB Fish
1 15.dec ["Extended" Faeries]
1 Fires Aggro
1 GBr Burning Rock
1 5c Slivers
1 Unknown Deck

And as Stated above the top 8 was:
UGrb Threshold (theAtoglord) defeats Uw Dreadstill (Hammafistroob)
RGBSA (Jaynel) defeats RGBSA (Stooghenstein)
Ur Dreadstill (Roodmistah) defeats Rgb Vial Goblins, Brian Knopp (unreg?)

Top 4:

I'll share, I was the gRb Goblins in the top 8.

3 Taiga
3 Badlands
2 Mountain
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Bloodstained Mire
4 Wasteland
2 Rishadan Port

4 Goblin Lackey
4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Tin Street Hooligan
4 Goblin Piledriver
3 Gempalm Incinerater
4 Goblin Matron
4 Goblin Warchief
4 Goblin Ringleader
2 Siege-Gang Commander

4 Aether Vial
1 Warren Weirding

SB:
3 Cabal Therapy
3 Krosan Grip
3 Tormod's Crypt
3 Pyrokinesis
3 Warren Weirding

Brief tourney report (sorry, threw out my score sheet with names):
Round 1: Dragon Stompy
Game 1- He plays a Raider and a Magus pretty quick, I manage to kill Magus with Mogg Fanatic and Weirding the Raider (I think). From there, he is in top deck mode and I don't have too many problems from there. Board in Pyrokinesis and Weirdings.
Game 2- He plays some Pyroclasms and a Rakdos Pit Dragon rocks my world.
Game 3- I play some goblins, he plays a Raider and a Pit Dragon. He sacrifices his Raider to a Weirding, I Pyrokinesify the Dragon and swing for the win.
(2-1, 1-0)

Round 2: Justin, Solidarity
The dude I drove down with, so this kinda sucks. We decide to play it out.
Game 1: I am about to swing for the win, but he goes off. Board in some Cabal Therapies.
Game 2: I am about to swing for the win, he tries to go off but has to Brain Freeze himself and puts all of his Cunning Wish and Brain Freeze in the graveyard, so I luck sack a win.
Game 3: He mulls to 4. I luck sack another win.
(4-2, 2-0)

Round 3: Uw Stiflenaught
Game 1: He pretty much controls the game and wins with a Dreadnought (I think).
Games 2 + 3: I can't really differentiate these games in my head, but Wastelands and Ports go along way, as well as Krosan Grips and Weirdings. I think I do a lot of damage with Tin Streets.
(6-3, 3-0)

I've always wanted to ID into a T8.

Top 8: Ur Stiflenaught
Game 1: Many Wastelands and much Gobo beatdown. He concedes at lowlife when he can't get a 3rd mana source. Board Weirdings, Therapies and Grips.
Game 2: I pretty much just get owned.
Game 3: I keep a hand with Cabal Therapy, Tin Street, Krosan Grip and lands. I only draw like 2 more Goblins, and a ton of land. He plays a chill and eventually get owned by a dreadnought.

There may be some mistakes in there, if so, feel free to correct them. So that was all right for my first legit Legacy tournament and probably worth coming down from UMaine. If I could do it again, I would just play Tacosnapes most recent list.

Edit:

Ur Dreadstill (Roodmistah) defeats Rgb Vial Goblins, Brian Knoop (unreg?)

They're not. The 3 Standstill should be 3 Stifle.

LOL. I was just interested in seeing what would appear to be a competitive blue-aggro deck other than Faerie Stompy. Looks like I may have over-hyped the deck in the process.

We had someone Top4 in Somerville with a Type 2 U/B Faeries deck. Can someone please explain to me why this archetype seems to win games?

Hell, next tournament I go to, I'm going to try my luck with Thallids...

Since no one else brings this up, I think i will. When in round 1 i think (maybe it was 2), the question about "factory animated under a humility = 2/2 or 1/1" came up, the organizer and (what i think was) one of the players who's a judge looked it up on Starcity games, and got the answer that its a 1/1.
After basicaly mass riots by everyone within earshot, it was (i believe) treated as a 2/2.
Ofcourse a bunch of people shouted "just look it up on the source, there's a whole thread there." But the person against who it was played and who didnt know the interaction (think he said he was more a vintage then a legacy player) brought up what i thought was a realy good point... "if you dont believe Magiccity, why believe the Source" for a person who isnt active on either site why would one be assumed more right then the other.

The only posible solutions ofcourse are:
1. get judges to stop looking things up on Starcity. Unlikely.
2. Fix the Factory/Humility ruling on Starcity. Oddly enough a newer ruling (about Genju of the Fields) actualy gives an answer that could be interpreted correctly if applied to factory.

So who knows someone around here that has the power at Starcity to change/remove that incorrect rulling?

The Oracle ruling is pretty explicit right on Wizard's Gatherer Lookup Window. I had no idea why anyone would go to an unofficial website, the Source or Starcity, when Wizards gives the information.

11/1/2005 You apply power/toughness changing effects in a series of sublayers in the following order: (a) effects from characteristic-setting abilities; (b) all other effects not specifically applied in c, d, or e; (c) changes from counters; (d) effects from static abilities that modify power and/or toughness but don't set power and/or toughness to a specific number or value; and (e) effects that switch a creature's power and toughness, so you'll always apply this card at b.

Given you are activating the Mishra's Factory after the Humility is in play you look to timestamps and given Humility is in play and the activation is happening after, it overwrites the Humility's all creatures are 1/1s clause.

And yes. After first ruling it a 1/1 the TO retracted the ruling when a couple other players who are also judges confirmed it was in fact a 2/2.

Unlike most agro decks this deck gets around counterbalance with odd mana costing creatures and unlike goblins it gets around pyroclasm due to the ability to counter with some hand control like thoughsieze idk really though thats what im guessing if you look up any type 2 u/b faeries or extended u/b faeries add force of wills and that is the list for the "unrevealed deck" vanele played, yeah i went there b/c ur not on the team gl in hadley =P

Did this tournie seriously have 32 players? One away from inclusion in the historical T8 thread? :frown:
