Does anyone here actually own or know someone who owns this bling (http://www.abugames.com/shop.cgi?command=mediasearch&catid=5988&displaystyle=3col)?

I can't imagine who would shell out for something like that.

Speaking of MTG related items, has anyone seen black shirts with a mana symbol on them? I saw a picture posted a while ago on TMD, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. Is this a do-it-yourself job?

What would be really cool is necklaces that were replicas of the 5 original moxen, hell even a chrome mox or mox diamond one would be cool. If I had money Id buy something like that for shits and grins.

Shirts like those were given out as prizes to people at Gencon this year, I think. I've also heard of them being sold at US Nationals several years ago.

I want to know how many have sold or they plan on selling. I mean most gamers don't have that much extra money left laying around, and if they did I think it would go to buying more cards not jewelry.

Those rings...

...remind me of the Planeteers' rings from "Captain Planet".

I'm pretty sure the white-mana one would be the equivalent of the lame-arse "Heart" ring from the show. That guy must have been so disappointed -- while the others were busy shooting fire or causing hurricanes, the best he could manage was the power to empathise with animals. Weak.

*Laughs uncontrollably*

I own one of those shirts... and a blue mana chain, however, mine was like very cheap...

I do not wear either though...

Perhaps because I am not a homosexual?

I used to have a black mana t-shirt. Black t-shirt with a very dark grey :b: on the front with a tiny (we're talking like an inch tall by 3 wide) Magic: the Gathering logo between the shoulderblades on the back. It was pimp cause no one knew wtf it was about back in the day.

Dude, I thought the heart ring was gimped also, but do you remember the one episode where they had to form Captain Planet without the heart ring kid for some reason? As a result Captain Planet was like uber weak and couldnt do shit really, heart was actually important after all

I don't remember that episode, but it sounds like the sort of thing that would happen on the show.

The example only goes to prove that the Heart kid was there to make up numbers, nothing more. He and his ring were significant only when they were absent....his actual presence contributed essentially nothing. The fire-dude was where the action was at....he carried that team, at least until things got bad enough to need to make the Captain. And I seem to remember the Russian girl with the Wind ring being vaguely hot (for a cartoon). It's been a while though.

Yeah, the heart kid was some short ass South American, kind of the runt of the group iirc. Also, I also recall the Soviet chick (Mika, I think) being kinda hot (for a cartoon of course), I think theres an untold story between her and the ginger fire kid

They gave out mana symbol shirts at gencon if you won pretty much anything. At the end, they were even giving them out if you asked. I won a blue mana symbol shirt (draft), a black mana symbol shirt (legacy side event), and then got another (black) one on Sunday by being at the right place at the right time (aka asking if they had any left). They say 2007 Gencon Champion or something on the back of them.

I think when I get stupid amounts of money I'll buy one each of the sterling silver rings, just because.

I mean really, if I'm going to go out on a nerd-douchebag binge, I may as well have my entire right hand covered. It just wouldn't feel right only doing a few colors.

Exactly. I can't see buying one of those rings when the money could easily go into a couple of playsets of Duals.

I used to own one of those red mana symbol silver necklaces... It was a gift from a cousin living there in the US... It was pretty cool, especially since I got that gift back when I was exclusively playing Sligh. I lost it at school though, and was pretty bummed about it.

Lost it just around the time when I got interested in a little deck with Crystalline Slivers, Muscle Slivers, and FoWs... Hmmmm...

Gateway Comics has them from time to time, I'll ask Eric to have them in stock for you for the next Wareham tournament if you want.
