Members of Team Sexy, Team Left Field and The EPIC Syndicate have all decided to start keeping track of the winning decks in this new, innovative and exciting format. Here, I will post the Top 4 decks of each 8 or more man Cube Draft we do, just so maybe you will try and build one, too.

If you are unfamiliar with what a Cube Draft is, here is a short explanation. It is a Pre-constructed stack of approximately the 750 most powerful cards in Magic, at any given time. From Black Lotus to Gilded Lotus, it's all in here. This stack of cards is then broken into random 15 card booster packs and drafted. Add lands and play. The current list that we are using is an exact replica of the one used at the 2007 Magic Invitational.

I have invested a lot of time, money and the vast majority of my collection into getting this entire Cube together with the fewest amount of proxies possible. If anyone has any of the cards that are proxies in the Cube and would like to make kind donations or trades, please PM me and we can work something out. We are mainly looking to get the Power in Collector's Edition.

Proxies

Candelabra of Tawnos
Nether Void
Imperial Recruiter
Gaea's Cradle
Goblin Lackey
Old Man of the Sea
Imperial Seal
Serendib Djinn
Bazaar of Baghdad
Tolarian Academy
Juzam Djinn
Ancestral Recall
Timetwister
Time Walk
Mox Emerald
Mox Sapphire
Mox Pearl
Mox Ruby
Mox Jet
Black Lotus
Mana Crypt
Mana Drain

The Abyss + Moat + Urza's Avenger = Awesome.

Just saying.

edit - Also, so we're clear, are you posting the list of the draft decks that are winning all the time, or just the cube list as it's updated? Because draft decks change each time. I suppose you could notice certain trends (first pick Sol Ring. Trust me), but I'm not sure what other useful information you could get when the lists are mostly random each time.

You would be suprised the archetypes and combos you can actively try to draft and make it happen. I will be posting the winning decklists. The current list can be found if you click the link.

Edit- I won't, however, be posting the sideboards. It's all just a little superfluous.

I think the intention was to post top 4 deck lists each time we play, but that could get to be a difficult task if we play multiple games in one day.

That's right, but I'm not really too worried about that happening any time soon. It was enough of a hassle to get enough guys together at the same time to do the first official one.

We have a group that cube drafts every weekend. Our cube is absolutely huge and is always evolving but it's amazing the kind of decks that you can come up with.

Our top decks really depend on the game as we draft a lot of 2 headed, free for alls, attack lefts and of course 1v1.

Seems like every draft your seeing some type of re-animator, glare or opposition control if someone hits it, big blue creature steal, r/g beats and 5c good stuff.

Some of the things that pop up though are just amazing. Cards like erratic portal and the shard are just huge in the games we play.

Although I didn't top4, I still think my deck was completely insane. U/b control with Illusions/Donate as the win, featuring recurring Memory Jar w/ Academy Ruins and Yawgmoth's Win. It was tight. Hell, I stroke of Genius'd myself for 6 endstep one game, then on my turn played Yawgmoth's Will, brought back Mana Vault, and played Illusions and Donate from my graveyard.

No one ever drafts red in my cube so my friend usually plays RW Burn.dec. He gets Jackal Pup, Isamaru, Savannah Lion, and Lavamancer, all the burn, Helix, Pacifism effects, etc. Its a really strong deck.

Meddling Mage seems like the biggest cuts ever in cube. Am I the only person that didn't copy Lapille or Wizard's cube list and came up with an original list of my own???

I run a 450 card cube, with 50 arts, 50 lands, 100 multi, and 50 of each color. I find that all the mini-combos grow old after a while, and things such as moxen and recall ruin the fun of drafting, and you end up feeling like you're playing some jank constructed deck that has a combo win, but it requires exactly 2 cards in 40, and you've probably only got 2 or 3 counters. (and likely poor ones at that) Limited, IMO, (and thus cube) should be about drafting skillfully a balance of dudes and removal, and perhaps an achetype. I can't stand trying to build 'the reanimator' deck when likely all the pieces won't be there in the 45*X cards out of the 750ish card pool. /rant

I also have a cube now, mine is only an 8 man cube (435 cards). I had a nice combo the other day, Alter of Demita + Corpse Dance, I also had a Beacon of Unrest to boot.

Our cube is the full 725 or whatever the invitational list. Thanks to lonelybaritone for helping me with The Abyss.
