Say i get the following board:

Pili-pala on the board since before beggining of my turn (ie no summone sick)
Heartstone in play (make Pili's ability cost 1 mana)

say 4 untapped islands.
and Hermetic Study in my hands (1U aura "enchanted creature can tap to do 1 damage to target creature or player"

Now here's the question, if i play Hermetic Study and it isnt countered, can i tap Pili to do one damage, then untap him using his mana ability then tap him again to do one damage and so on Without ever passing priority?

The way i'm thinking this is that since the untap is a mana ability, i dont have to pass priority for it to resolve, and so its like i'm just tapping him to ping a whole bunch of times without ever passing priority, stacking a whole bunch of "do one damage" effects on the stack.
I'm not exactly sure what the card i'm playing "around" is in this case, but i guess trickbind trying to counter the ping ability (it cant bind the mana ability) or even some sort of destroy enchantment instant effect.

Yes, the untap ability is a mana ability and can't be responded to. If you're the active player, you can tap it for damage and, without giving priority, use the mana ability to untap it.

And then keep priority and repeat, I suppose.

Well, then i think i've finaly found a deck in addition to slivers that i'd like enough to actualy work on.

Note: Power Artifact (http://resources.wizards.com/Magic/Cards/AQ/en-us/Card1043.jpg) does the same thing Heartstone does for 1 less mana.
