Makeshift Mannekin + Akroma

Ok, I know the Akroma Animate Dead trick works and why, but would the same apply to Makeshift Mannekin? It seems so, but does it get the counter?

4/1/2008 If the creature card put into play has Protection from Black (or anything that prevents this from legally being attached), this won’t be able to attach to it. Then this will then go to the graveyard as a State-Based Effect, causing the creature to be sacrificed. This is a change from recent functionality.

As for Mannequin, that should work because putting the counter onto Akroma isn't targeting.

It isn't so much as "making up their minds" as they need to find ways to stop cards from doing things that they are not supposed to be able to do. This can take time and not be an easy prospect.

The comparison in here is basically:

Animate Dead enchants and a creature with Pro-Black cannot be Enchanted.

Makeshift does not Block, Enchant, Target (while in play), or Damage Akroma, so Pro-Black does nothing.
