Hi I am new to this format ( only been playing standard for a couple months) so i am unfamiliar with some rules. Cycling is new to me but the question I have is that if I plainscycle eternal dragon do i search for a plains, shuffle my library, then draw a card form the cycle ability or do i just get the plains, shuffle my library and not draw a card.

With plainscycling you get the plains in place of drawing a card. You tutor up the plains, put it in your hand, shuffle, and are done.

You search for the Plains, put it into your hand, and shuffle. You do not get to draw an additional card.

The reminder text on the card sums it up:
2, Discard this card: Search your library for a Plains card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
