Not sure if this is the good part of the forum. As I do'tn provide much decklist but only food for thoughts, I was filling reluctant to post this in the other subforums.
Anyway, I was thinking lately that the reveilalrk combo used in the now dead flash vitnage deck is maybe of some interest to be recycled into a reanimator shell.
For reference, the combo uses :
1 reveillark
1 body double
1 mogg fanatic
1 carrion feeder
1 Body snatcher
This packages is somehow compact, thus freeing slots for actual control strategy. Can't a control deck (maybe UBg ?) be made out of this core, leading to a controllish game that ends in combo ? Is the splash damage from leylines and other anti-yard hate too prevalent to make this viable ?
Shell can be made out of :
6-8 discard (including therapy maybe)
4-5 board sweeper (either explsoives of pernicious)
living wish to access redundant copy of combo piece in the side or if removed through extirpate/leylines
combo enabler or draw engine
The other question is to know if some protean hulk cna be of some help. I'm reluctant to add this as it makes the combo core go straight up to 9 cards but it's maybe ok.
Discussions are welcomed;

To consistently accelerate this combo, we'd need a way to get hulk into play then sacrifice hulk immediately after it hits play. Without flash, this can't be done through one single resolution, and that sucks.
I've been testing the hulk combo in a food chain shell:
4 Food Chain
4 Imperial Recruiter
2 Fierce Empath
1 Protean Hulk
1 Body Double
1 Mogg Fanatic
1 Reveillark
1 Carrion Feeder
1 Spitebellows
4 Xantid Swarm
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Chrome Mox
4 Brainstorm
2 Intuition
4 Impulse
4 Force of Will
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Polluted Delta
1 Bayou
1 Swamp
4 Tropical Island
2 Island
2 Forest
SB:
4 Chalice of the Void
2 Trinisphere
1 Darksteel Colossus
4 Elvish Spirit Guide
4 Pernicious Deed
This might be serious shit, but the main idea is to cabal therapy your opponent for possible hate before you play food chain. Play Food Chain, then recruiter -> recruiter -> recruiter -> recruiter -> empath -> Hulk -> flashback therapy.
I play Spitebellows as a way to kill the hulk. It can be tutored for with Fierce Empath. The sideboard just includes a colossus to be played instead. It's so easy to ramp up mana in this deck. The main problem is that the deck plays with 16 combo pieces.
This is my take on breaking hulk yet again.
Discuss!

Yeah, I was thinking of not palying hulk at all and relay on reanimation spell to get back the bare minimum of : carrion feeder + reveillark on the table to start the combo. This means to dump all our combo pieces in the yard firs, thus making ourselves vulnerable to fuckton of hate but make the combo non hulk dependant.

1 Sylvan Safekeeper
1 Karmic Guide
1 Kiki-jiki, mirror breaker
1 Body Snatcher
1 Carrion Feeder
4 Protean Hulk
3 Reanimate
3 Exhume
2 Summoner's Pact
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Duress
2 Orim's Chant
3 Sensei's divining top

Seriously, I see several flaws with that list :/
Why play Duress over Thoughtseize? You can even use Thoughtseize to discard hulk and then reanimating it.
VERY Extirpate-able, that sucks.
Only 6 reanimation spells? Why not Animate Dead instead? 5/6 is not worse than 6/6, as both clocks are four turn clocks, even if it came to attacking with hulk alone.
Good job it t8, though. But I think it can be done even better.

considering the combo in it and the overall cards, it maybe date form before lorwyn.
Now that I think of it, Hulk is maybe necessary as it acts as a reanimable tutor for the combo.

Necromancy, when played at end of turn, acts as a pseudo-Flash. Just an interesting idea if you decide to go with the Reanimator route.

I see. It indeed lost a gained a lot power after Lorwyn. Haha, also because thoughtseize only becomes more helpful to you. If they somehow discard Hulk, you've in fact lost nothing.
If something's able to stop the combo, it's certainly extirpate. Therefore, I'd play a transformational sideboard. What could that be? An UBG NQG shell?

so the plan becomes :
-> get a hulk in the yard
-> EOT necromancy on hulk
-> ???
-> PROFIT.
Could this be like 10x times better than reaniamte hulk then cabal therapy it or at least give a second way to "combo" off ?
For the sideboard, yeah something like NQG or stifle/nought ?

Burried alive gets them all and makes your life easy....
Dark rit bury them, next turn return lark flashback therapy and win, or at least have an infinate infinate carrion feeder

well, buried alive leads to lark/body double/fanatic, necromancy lark EOT only leads to one ping. We need carrion feeder one table before :/
So maybe buried alive -> hulk -> therapy or feeder on hulk -> body double + fanatic -> copy double -> lark, rince and repeat.
It's long to go off tough :/

Actualy I would go for something quite aquard. Probably something like bubble hulk in extended. You can toss in the stifle naught shell easily enough and be able to use through the breach as a flash esque effect.
