accursed centaur comes into play. "when accursed centaur comes into play, sacrifice a creature." Is this a cost, or could i use carrion feeder's ability to sac a different creature to give it a +1 +1 counter?

This is a cost. Anything telling you to sac a creature will not accept saccing it to carrion feeder.

When it comes into play, sacrifice a creature. It comes into play when it's put into play, which is the last part of its resolution. If there are no other creatures in play, you must sacrifice the Centaur.

You cannot sacrifice something to multiple effects that demand sacrifice. You can't sacrifice the same thing to both Carron Feeder and Accursed Centaur.
