Anyone Thinking of Going to GP Indy by Car?

The trip is 11 hours give or take based on stops. A good mileage vehicle will need 4-5 tanks of gas for the trip at a cost of approx. 200-250 and a hotel for the 2 nights will be around the same price or a bit more depending on locale. I intend to go by hook or crook so if i can get 3 more folks the trip is possible I may even push it with 2 others. so if any one watns to go or is already going let me know.

Just for reference it's 1300 miles round trip from Syracuse. If you have a car that gets 25 mpg. and gas is $4.19 pg (AAA National est. for that weekend) then gas will be $220 for the trip. The hotel right across the street from the venue is $120 per night and the entry fee for the event is $35...so you are looking at $150 a person (not including food) if you have 4 people.

I am in Sterling Heights, MI, which is of course 4 hours from Traverse City (but its "on the way"). I have possibly 1 other person that would be interested in coming (mother willing) who can be picked up at the same place as me.

OK last update for any one interested we have 2 spaces available to go, we have a new car, an awsome hotel room on the same block as the GP and it will only be 120 a person for gas/hotel or less if we get two. We leave 7am on frida y and come back sometime sun/mon evening/am. let me know
