Can you extirpate Narcomoeba? Obviously I mean when it has been milled into the graveyard by some effect. It seems to me like a triggered ability and not a state based effect.

Also do you if it can be extirpated when does it happen? Say they cast breakthrough and they get four dredge effects and the Narcomoeba pops out on the first one. Ichorid players have told that you can't respond with crypt until the whole process is done. So If you can extirpate why wouldn't you be able to activate crypt?

Narcomoeba does indeed have a triggered ability, and it is also true that you cannot activate Crypt or cast Extirpate during a Breakthrough. The ability of the Narcomoeba does not trigger until Breakthrough finishes resolving (as spells and abilities cannot be put on the stack during the resolution of a spell), at which point it goes on the stack. Now you can activate Crypt or Extirpate Narcomoeba if you choose to.

In other words, yes you can...

Narcomoeba's ability is a triggered ability, meaning you can respond to the trigger, removing all of them w/ extirpate....

I don't know why you would mae this play over some other possibilities, but you can.

To clarify a little, you can't activate Crypt or Extirpate during Breakthrough's resolution, but any Narcomoebas that trigger during Breakthrough's resolution will have their abilities put onto the stack after Breakthrough resolves, so you can wait and respond to those.

But yes, you do have to let them finish Dredging before you can play any spells or abilities.
