First of all, know that if you're plying EDH in a multiplayer setting, having Zur as your general will mean you're the first person to die. He's just too good, and will likely be banned soon. By all means, continue playing the deck if you enjoy it, but right now he's the most overplayed general.
Second, your entire deck should probably be built around Zur --> Necropotence --> Draw 7-10 cards. Play some Counters, some good removal, and then a couple of enchantments that will win the game after you have complete control. You should probably have some artifact acceleration, all the Talismans, Signets and Stones that you can play, so that you can manage a turn 3 Zur. We're seeing more aggro-oriented decks these days, but many people won't even be getting started until turn 4 or so, where you'll be swinging with Zur and putting the game away with the second most broken enchantment ever.
That's about it. Once you hit Necropotence, you should be winning the game pretty handily. From there, you either play the Zur game, and grab Steel of the Godhead, Daybreak Coronet, Battle Mastery, etc. or you play the control game, and find Morphling or Meloku or whatever your win condition is and ride it to the win with a full grip of cards. With a starting life total of 40, Necropotence shold have no trouble keeping your hand full, and if you have a problem, Zur can help you out with a bit of life gain.
Finally, Sakashima is really good, in the format and general, and specifically in this deck. She (he?) can copy any general, and having two Zurs swinging a turn is even dumber than one.
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
Thx for your feedback, great :D
I'm a bit dissapointed to hear that Zur is the most overplayed legend, although it seems quiet logical that I'm not the only one that sees it's potential and power.
For now I'm making the following changes:
-1 Cloak of Invisibility
-1 Vesuvan Doppelganger / Devoted Caretaker
+1 Steel of the Godhead
+1 Sakashima the Imposter
Tomorrow I'm going to have a look at the other cards you mentioned like Daybreak Corronet and the mana artifacts.
Once again thx voor the advice :)
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
I'm sure you know this, but Zur can only fetch stuff with CMC 3 or less. So no Moat or Debtor's Knell.
I hate to clog the thread with lists, but if you'd like me to PM you the Zur list we made, I'd be happy to. It's a bit counter-heavy, but it works pretty well.
Also, I've got a pretty fun Saffi Eriksdotter list that aims to gain infinite life, or win off of Caller of the Claw or another such win. It still needs a bunch of work, but it's a lot of fun. Comboing out in EDH is just good times :)

Change to another deck? Isn't that truly boring?
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
Yup, we had a very similar deck in our playgroup for a while. It's terrible when you've got 8 people who can each cast multiple counterspells. It also has a pretty tough time beating eight people anyway, even without disruption.
Thousand-Year Elixir is hot though.
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
Our group hasn't really adapted to his deck - No one is even running blue but me. We pretty much just said screw you, build another deck or don't play. Since most people prefer to play big fat green guys, it's not exactly fair to go broken turn three.
At the same time, my deck is even more redic, and way more boring to play against. I play mono blue with Azami, Lady of Scrolls as my general (after Zur got old). It's awesome winning with Stroke vs. 5 people. Go go Sigil Tracer!

I was totally about to build an Azami deck!! Are you averse to posting your list? I understand if you are :)

Have you ever played a combo deck? They're a blast to play, I don't care if my opponent is having fun as long as I am.

Not true. Belcher+Mana Severance and Mind Over Matter is my main win condition, it's very easy to pull off. Second is infinite storm with Tyrant, Tendrils.
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
The truly abusive general is Teferi because it's pretty hard to lose. You end step out Teferi and if he sticks, you untap and win. Otherwise you just try again. Running Teferi as your general will get you A LOT of attention.
That said, in most playgroups this sort of thing tends to equalize, either because people gang up on your or you stop being invited to play. It's rougher on MTGO where the games are random. I do like MTGO's Legend rule better though.

I recall somebody crying like a bitch and packing up his marbles when an Abeyance came his way.
Can't for the life of me recall who, though.
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
Yeah, the one thing I have over Bryant's deck is WAY more recovery power, even without Yawg Will. I play SO MANY draw spells, it's insane.
Edit - Oh, and it's pimp as fuck.
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
The most fun deck I've ever created for EDH is ...
GENERAL
Heartless Hidetsugu
Mana
Gauntlet of Might
Gauntlet of Power
Extraplanar Lens
Mana Flare
Seething Song
Darksteel Ingot
Sol Ring
Destruction/Mana Disruption
Blood Moon
Wildfire
Boom/Bust
Devastation
Decree of Annihilation
Nevinyrral's Disk
Thoughts of Ruin
Price of Glory
Mogg Salvage (rofl is there ever a time when there isn't an island on the table?)
Rack and Ruin
Viashino Heretic
Creatures Plus a Planeswalker
Hostility
Bloodfire Colossus
Kumano, Master Yamabushi
Sundering Titan
Rimescale Dragon
Chandra Nalaar
Zo-Zu the Punisher
X Spells
Titan's Revenge
Molten Disaster
Earthquake (would be Rolling Earthquake, but I just traded mine)
Widespread Damage
Flamebreak
Flame Rift
Inferno
Draw More!
Winds of Change
Teferi's Puzzle Box
Mind's Eye
Howling Mine
Scroll Rack
Temporal Aperture
Mindmoil
Continuous Damage
Sulfuric Vortex
Pyrostatic Pillar
Spellshock
Ankh of Mishra
Iron Maiden
Psychogenic Probe
Manabarbs
Scald
Impatience
Citadel of Pain
Power Surge
Antagonism
Other
Radiate
Wild Ricochet
Sculpting Steel
Lightning Greaves
Sun Droplet
Zuran Orb
Red Elemental Blast
Pyroblast
Artifact Blast (Countering Mindslaver with a mono-red deck is really really funny)
Repercussion
Furnace of Rath
Sudden Impact
Warp World
Gate to the AEther
Land
Hall of the Bandit Lord
Mikokoro, Center of the Sea
33x Snow-Covered Mountain
The object? Burn the living hell out of everyone.
The fun? Mostly, if they are taking damage, it is because of what THEY are doing.
Are you an instant target? Of course! But you'll crack at least 20-30 damage on everyone before you die.
Can you win? Yes, it is really isn't too hard to establish your presence with this deck.
Creatures are very small part of the deck and you have many spells that kill everyone elses.
You don't have to hold your position long, throwing damage out by the bucket-load tends to end the game sooner.
Sometimes you can even just lay back and relax, while your ridiculous enchantments take everyone out for you.
One of the best parts about this deck is that even if you don't win, you've had a ton of fun.
Everyone will be walking on eggshells around your enchantments/artifacts and Hidetsugu brings the pain.

I've played a combo deck, so I now it's cool to go off :D However, in my opinion MP, in this case EDH, is supposed to be fun. I have more fun of a 2 hour long game than to win in turn 3. So that's why I asked the question ;)

No, it's not, because once everyone knows you have an infinite combo in your deck, they gang up on you at the first sign of establishing it.
Re: EDH - Elder Land Dragon
Infinite combo - Resolve Tidespout Tyrant with a spell in your hand.
