Happy 5th Anniversary, Source!

Ah, the Source. We certainly have come a long way, haven't we old chaps? Why, I remember back five years ago when this place was just a...oh wait, I joined 3 years ago, when The Source was already a bustling metropolis of Legacy tech.

Oh well. At any rate, congratulations to the Source for running 5 years strong, a big thanks to the staff that work day in and day out to keep it that way, and all the great members that make this site way more enjoyable than any other Magic forum on the web.

But I'm sure the real reason we're all here is to see what happens with this tourney. 127 people, my God. This is going to be awesome. I figured the announcement thread was cluttered enough, so starting a new thread to discuss things as they're happening/post pairings and feature matches/etc. would be good.

So, let's discuss.

So I did the math on 127 players, and it turns out they're just one player shy of having enough for 7 rounds. Now I really wish I was there.

Or is it Swiss+1, then cut to top8?

edit - And for those of you who are wondering, yes, I'm going to live in this thread today. At least while I'm at work, for the next seven and a half hours or so.

So am I, although it's already 20.20 over here, before I go to bed I'll be refreshing this page every 5 minutes, as well as checking the uploaded pics here

I still hate the fact I have my parents in law over here for a 2-week visit, while my wife was actually fine with me comming over.

edit - It's interesting how even though they got a bigger room, they're still all bunched up on the side.

I guess this way they have extra space on the floor in case people suddenly want to dance?

Also, the Announcement thread says it was slated to start at 11am EST. It's currently 2:47 pm EST. Even with a late start, we should be into the second round at least, right?

I expect soooo much video coverage now.

The live video thing for the past few minutes has been a rough view of people playing, and much the people getting in the way of the camera with torso shots and middle fingers.

Not sure it's going to provide much "coverage" that we'd be seeking, lol.

Thanks to everyone who helps make this place the way it is - mods, adepts, and everyone else. You're all great (well, enough of you anyways). Here's to another great 5 years and more.

I remember back in the day when Worldgorger dragon was played and ATS...and...Food Chain Goblins! And how people played stax with workshops XD.

I'm posting to see how long I've been here. Then I'll say something good.

EDIT: Wow, 2 and a half years. Maybe because this is the most interesting forum I've ever been on, and it's just a bonus that it's about Magic. I wonder why (I think) I'm the only guy from my country actively posting here. Well, besides Radley, but he's inactive now.

Anyway, congrats to the Source. I hope I'll be able to rack up more tournament experience so I can contribute more here.

I can't express in this borrowed language how awesome you guys are.

Keep on making this an elitist, safe, Cavius-free enviroment!
