Can you use yavimaya hollow to regenerate a creature an opponent controls? (the card says regenerate target creature) So couldnt I regenerate a tarmogoyf when it is attacking me and remove it from combat, leaving it tapped? :tongue:

you can use Hollows ability to target an opponents creature. However, regeneration now does NOT remove a creature from combat at the time you give it a regeneration shield. The creature will be removed when there is lethal damage or a destroy effect on it. At this time, regeneration will prevent the creature from being destroyed and remove it from combat at this time.Quote:

So if you use this effect on a creature that does not have impending lethal damage, does it still tap? If so, does this allow tapping of opposing creatures before the declare attackers step?
No it doesn't. The rule is not very clear on when the replacement effect happens.Quote:

Otherwise, Debt of Loyalty would be insane.
