Life Burn BB
You may pay x life when casting a black creature spell. For Each life spent reduce the cost of the creature by 1. You cant reduce the cost more then four in this manner.
Seems like a much better pyromancer's swath. Why?
Warhammer was really good. Pestilence was really good. But both of those sets had common removal for those cards. Pack Rats was such an issue because turn 2 Pack Rat had to be dealt with immediately or it could not be dealt with by anything short of another rare (Verdict, Cyclonic Rift, etc.) Even that would have been ok, had there been removal for it at common at cheap costs. But the number of ways to deal with it was incredibly small. Electrickery was the best solution and that card was horrible against everything else in the format.
I like this better as an instant, but it could be adapted to enchantment form (at the beginning of your end step, all players gain control of all creatures they own). Hell, even bump the requisite power up to 5 or 6 and add a drawback that returns the creature to its owners hand if it would die or be exiled (saves unfair interactions with Cloudshift/Restoration Angel/etc.). Mostly, I just like the idea of aggro having a tool against combo. I don't think it's too much to ask that non-blue decks have a shot at beating Reanimator or Sneak decks.
I think that it would be awesome to have a black enchantment that reads something like:
Rippling Evil
BBB or 1BB
When Rippling Evil enters the battlefield, name a card.
All cards with the chosen name have Ripple 4 (Reminder text about ripple 4)
If you don't exactly get this card, look up Relentless Rats
Did you literally make that account to make that post? Because at the time of posting, you've got one, and it's that one.
Also: You've already got thrumming stone. Just because black is getting another break the 4 rule card, doesn't mean they need another enabler just to go along with it.
This would be cool:
Cavius's Power Hour BBB
Enchantment
You can't lose and your opponents can't win.
Whenever you gain a life, draw a card.
Whenever you lose a life, discard a card.
Whenever you gain 15 or more life in one turn, you win the game.
Whenever you lose 15 or more life in one turn, you lose the game.
Who needs Liches?
Abilities? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Abilities!
1W
Activated abilities of creatures cannot be activated.
I'd be happy with that. :)
You have Cursed totem, Zak. go die in a fire :P
I wouldn't mind a Chains of Mephistopheles creature to be honest, or something like:
"Thoughtseize V2.0 - B
Target player reveals their hand. You may choose a non-land card from that player's hand. They discard that card. Lose 2 Life.
Scry 1
New Keyword - When you play this spell, destroy all Islands you control."
-Matt
One problem with "Thoughtseize v2.0": I would assume the card would be an instant/sorcery, when the determined card type is enchantment. Besides, Modern Jund doesn't need ANOTHER 1 mana discard spell.
A one-mana black enchantment with a mini-Chains effect could be an interesting foil to Brainstorm.
Some kind of Necropotence call-back would be cool. Something better than Phyrexian Etchings, though.
1R Lightning Crafter
2/1 Haste
When "this guy" citp target instant or sorcery gains flashback = to it's manacost
Why can't red have a Snapcaster Mage? FTK needs to be reincarnated
Personally, I would like to see a cheaper-costed Greater Good.
Necropotence 2.0 BBB
Enchantment
You can't draw cards, and you have no maximum hand size.
Pay one life: Exile the top card of your library face down.
At the beginning of your end step, put all cards exiled with Necropotence 2.0 into your hand, and then lose 2 life for each card in your hand in excess of seven.
Awesome Enchantment - 2WW
Each noncreature artifact is an artifact creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. Each non-Aura enchantment is a creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. All lands are 1/1 creatures. All non-basic lands are mountains. All creatures lose all abilities and are 1/1.
Battle Chorus :1::r:
Enchantment
Players can't cast spells during combat.
The sounds of battle drown out the calls for retreat for some.
Following the huge success of Cryptic Command, this seems like a favorite for the next textless promo card.
