@laststepdown I think Darkblast worked fine as the 13th Dredger, and playing 9 lands that can produce black mana, he might have killed a lot of dorks, as well.

Hey i played against this guy playing dredge today who claimed that if phantasmagorian is in your graveyard, you can stack his ability and discard your whole hand to him. Is that true? Or is this guy bullshitting me?
You have to have two of them to chain the ability. The guy is BSing you. That's what happens when people netdeck. They don't really know how things work so they make stuff up.Quote:

the "discard 3 cards" is an acrivation cost so u can discard 3 cards (ability on stack), respond to this discarding another 3 cards and so on....until you have 0 cards in hand, or less than 3 cards in hand or choose not to discard the most.
Yeah. This way you can get to 1 or 2 cards in hand including a gorian. You cant just "discard your whole hand to him". Chaining two of them gets you to one Phantasmagorian in hand. The point of gorian isn't just to empty your hand but rather that the discard is the activation cost, thus you get a great discard outlet that's immune to counters and removal.Quote:

You can't get yourself down to 0, but having 2 allows you to chain everything else relevant into the yard, where having 1 is goign to leave you with a card stuck in your hand.
So, what he said was misleading in the sense that you can dump 6 cards to 1 gorian, but in the context of what he was responding to he was entirely correct.
