That's more of a fundamental question as it pertains to what quantifies a deck as being "Nic Fit." When you have Veteran Explorer and Cabal Therapy, I think that's more descriptive of a Nic Fit deck than Green Sun's Zenith. I know that sounds bizarre saying that, but for me that's what rings more true. Explorer and Therapy are the cornerstones of Nic Fit. Zenith is absolutely one too, but those cards are the bread and butter.
Jim's deck is really focused more on crushing fair match-ups with a ton of removal. He's been playing for a very long time, so the deck kind of resembles pre-Nic Fit Explorer decks.
I agree with Mike. His build reminds me a lot more like that deck that was GB, had Helldozer, maybe Gigapede, etc. and was all about the grind and infinite removal. Can't remember the name, now. This GB build is a much more grind-oriented, and a lot less dependent on tutors. I wonder if he feels there's enough card draw with just 1 NW and 1 Sylvan.
I've got a 1k coming up locally, and I still want to play Rhinos.
The old Train-Wreck?
Bingo.

Introduction:
You want to open with an Orcish Lumberjack or a Veteran Explorer, fire off Cabal Therapies and resolve either Korvold or Titania. This list is very similar to NicFit except that it borrows from Applejacks and Jund Sacrifice.
Potential Improvements:
* The list needs more ways to disrupt the opponent besides Cabal Therapy because of Veil of Summer.
* Considering Greater Gargadon over the cat-oven package purely for its more explosive character, however, the list already has 1 Sylvan Safekeeper which can mass-sacrifice as well and can be searched with Green Sun's Zenith.
* I considered Mayhem Daredevil. It's played in JUND Sacrifice and Applejacks. However, it cannot be searched with GSZ and slots are tight.
* Greater Gargadon has synergy with Young Pyromancer
* Considering -2 Oven +2 Gargadon, -2 Cauldron Familiar +2 Mayhem Devil
* The list is soft to Karakas, so that must be addressed outside of Sylvan Safekeeper. Blood Sun doesn’t look like an option with so many fetch lands.
Maindeck Interactions:
Young Pyromancer and Cabal Therapy
Young Pyromancer and Punishing Fire
Grove of the Burnwillows and Punishing Fire
Cabal Therapy and Veteran Explorer

Hi everyone, could I get the link to the discord channel please?
Hey everybody, yes, that's me. Yes, the deck is an evolution over the last almost 15 years from Trainwreck - just BG, all about the grind.
Fun facts about that tournament:
2-0 twice against Reanimator - Faerie Macabre has a very positive interaction with Exhume - also removal plus MD and SD Ashiok, Dream Render.
2-1 against Elves; Kalitus doing a lot of work (can't be hit up Adrupt Decay), just sits there and does horrible things - one game, I was attacked by Progenitus 4 times and I ended the game at 40 life, also the same Progenitus was played 2-3 times in another game.
2nd round I decked a Delver player. (too many draw spells, not enough creatures staying on the board more than a turn to be able to attack)
Lost to OmniTell game three in quarter finals, very close. Guy felt pretty frustrated losing game one to a Show and Telled Basic Forest from me vs an Emrakul from him.
Good day was had.
Straight GB is my modjo since 2 years, now (List and achievements here).
13th @ a 200 ppl tournament
1st @ a 50 ppl tournament
Consistency is what you need when playing such deck.
GB provides that. Period.
I like your build. Old one with new stuff in it.
3 Grave Titans feel like ancient age but so powerful (Grave Titan is still the only one creature that can actually beat a resolved Emrakul/Grisel. Explanations here).
No GSZ. A mix between PW/hard to deal with creatures (reminding me PW teck a few years ago).
The rest is GB good stuff.
You might need to revisit your sideboarding strategy. I feel like you really want to win fair fights a tad too much.
You might be able to leverage your combo MUs without losing too much win % against fair decks.
But that is my opinion.
Thank you for sharing !
Ralf
2 damnation
1 LOLH
2 Plague Engineer
1 Triumph
1 Trophy
+ your MD
Don't you think you are on the "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" plan a bit too much ?
Are you sweating that much against creature/fair decks ?
I could see:
1 or 2 wrath effect (1 damnation + 1 Engineer)
1 or 2 spot removal (1 sac'effect + 1 catch'all = trophy)
The rest could be more combo oriented (so maybe 3 more cards devoted to battle combo MU). But I didn't play your deck, so your knowledge is invaluable, here.
That's just my impression.
Ralf
Posted this in the Yorion thread but . . .
Recent 5-0 Nic Fit list....
100 cards and awesome.
What's the consensus on Fiend Artisan? It's both a sac outlet and a repeatable GSZ that can even fetch non-green creatures.
I'm really liking a number of the Mutate creatures for non-Legacy things, and I was wondering whether any looked good enough to the people of this fine community to run as bruisers.
I'm wondering whether Mutate is gonna be a sleeper. Not sure yet how much, but there's always a niche for anti-Elk shenanigans. I'm watching a lot of cards from this set.
Enablers:
Zagoth Mamba: I continue to hate playing against D&T on pretty much everything.
Pollywog Symbiote: Maybe only good in Limited. But absolutely busted in Limited.
Essence Symbiote: Counters stick to Mutants. Lifegain is nice in matchups we're generally unfavored to win.
Mysterious Egg: Pretty much the foundation of the new mechanic.
Beaty dudes:
Gemrazer: I actually didn't know about this guy. Seems awesome.
Auspicious Starrix: House. The "X" might really break this.
Trumpeting Gnarr: Tokens are good, and I like things that pitch to Force.
Boneyard Lurker: Seems like a good tool for recursion, though if we're already running Witness this feels like a strict downgrade even with the stat boost.
Otrimi: Gets the above cards back. Pitches to Force.
Brokkos: Beats face. Beats face again. Pitches to Force.
Biollante: Gets everything back.
King Fucking Ghidorah: No idea. I like it. Pitches to Force.
Someday I might circle back and check out the white cards.
It feels like it should be a crime not to play Opposition Agent in every Veteran Explorer deck.
Maybe add 4 Ancient Tombs and some Hullbreechers to the deck and rework the creature base around the Ancient Tomb (the Rectors already work great with the Tombs).
Nic Fit has now evolved into Snoko!? Is this a new development?

And here I was worried that Nic Fit is a dead deck, but apparently I was wrong.
I think for the past 6-12 months the somewhat successful Nic Fit decks have been using Oko, Coatl and probably Uro. Like any other non-combo decks, hyperbolic but kind of.
Ramping into cards that cost more than 3 mana hasn't been perceived as worth it when the 3 mana cards are better anyway. The Jaces here are nice to see. I think previous decks from the 5-0 MTGO lists have often been even more close to Snowkom
I saw a version play against Tony Murata (12 post) that ran Titania, protector of Argoth, Greater Gargadon, and jazz like that.
It was super spicy, would anyone have a deck list for it?
AristoFit
Here is a brew I have been toying with. The purpose would be to be a stormcaller list that’s not just bad Snowko and a aristocrats shell that’s not just bad gaak.
Seagate stormcaller is a similar card to legacy heavyweights Arcanist and snapcaster. It’s less flexible than those two; so any shell needs to exploit that copy’s don’t re-incur costs. The strongest sorceries with additional costs are the sac a creature cards village rites & cabal therapy. Fit has already proved the best fair sac fodder is vet. Explorer. For Consistency we add 4 tendrils of despair and 4 bloodghast as copies 9-12. As a fair bloodghast deck drit/buried alive/URo were added.
Sea gate and URo are already great mana sinks but I added fotd and a witches cottage to take advantage of all the ramp wo running expensive cards. Rounded deck out with normal bug fit stuff like decay/trophy/fetches
4 Seagate stormcaller
4 Veteran Explorer
4 Bloodghast
4 Tendrils of Despair
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Village Rites
4 Dark Ritual
4 Buried Alive
2 Uro
2 Abrupt Decay
2 Assassin’s Trophy
1 swamp
1 Snow covered swamp
1 Island
1 Snow covered Island
1 Forest
1 Snow covered Forest
2 bayou
1 Tropical Island
1 Underground Sea
1 urborg, tomb of yang moth
2 Field of the Dead
1 Witch’s Cottage
4 Polluted Delta
4 Verdant Catacombs
@reeplcheep
Maybe a Grave Titan instead of second Uro ?
the idea is that 2 uros allows you to get full value out of the 2nd buried alive, and gives you a guaranteed ramp payoff through a plow.
GSZ package could be correct however.
Hullbreacher and Opposition Agent were both specifically designed to be paired with Nic Fit and with Chalice Tomb decks. Throw in some Ancient Tombs and Field of Ruins and we have ourselves a spicy brew.
Nic Fit already plays Curses. It just needs to play Dark Rituals.
Is it viable to pair Seagate Storm caller with Hymn or Sinkhole for a blow out?
Each Hymn is equivalent to a double Cabal Therapy (blue decks often have 4 cards to dump or 4 lands to lose).
Although it is worse by itself, that was the thought behind Tendrils of Despair. I thought 1UB discard 4 was way better than 1UBB discard 4 at random, make a 2/1. Aditionally, it allows you to sac a vet t2 like a cabal therapy (vet, tendrils). Both of our acceleration leaves us with 3 mana not 4. IE t1 drit ghast tendrils or t1 therapy, t2 vet, fb therapy, land drop cast stormcaller + tendrils
Tendrils of Despair seem like awesome tech to pair with Arena Rector and Academy Rector.
Can you sac a Uro in response to it etb trigger by casting Tendrils.
Tendrils is a sorcery so no, you cannot sac Uro to Tendrils in response to Uro's etb trigger.
No but village rites does work.
I assume if mtg overhaul wasn’t playing stormcaller there wasn’t enough space in rector fitAdditionally all the discard pushes the deck towards a grindy play style rather than a go big play style imo. Ghast/buried alive has the advantage that the combo targets also enable your sac a creature effects; therapy plus ghast is fine but dovescape plus village rites is garbage.
