The trick is to use white sleeves. If you do a lot of the wear on the sides of the duals won't show and even a beat beta dual will look like its at least in Ex condition. I really should try and post some pics if i can get my scanner working.Quote:

I don't really worry about basic land.... I've got 20 of each basic land from Japanese "Beta"... which is what, basically FBB 4th Edition to us?
Doesn't matter. Old School borders, rules text, etc. all in japanese with the old ABU artwork. Gets the job done.
I just roll with beta basics in all my decks. I fucking love how rich the colors are.
Unglued lands ftw. Guru is the only thing better imo, but I can't justify dropping that much money on basics.
I'm not a fan of un-lands. I just hate that they don't flow with the text box-art size theme of the rest of the deck.
If I could get all my cards to be full art, then we'd talk :D
Well since this is legacy and I usually only play TES or thresh all I really need is a single island. It's the same island I use for type 1. I have normal guru lands I use for extended, but they don't even compare to this beauty. Anyway, the scan didn't turn out great, but you can still appreciate the card.

I dunno if these are brand new or what, but I've never seen them before. Got one at the T2 City Champs event today. No one else liked the art so I traded to get a play set for my wife's Gobo deck.

The Fanatics are DCI Tournament Kit foils. Any store with a Wizards sales account can order them. Stores can give them out for any tournament they like. Mind Stone is the other foil in the current kit (and Llanowar Elves in the "Intro" kit).
The Fanatic art is so bad that it's awesome.
I really like actual flavor text on the cards. Other than cards from Limited an judge foils are there cool ones around? Wrath from portal, I know. But anything else?
Next month's FNM foil looks cool.

Of course, the promo Wasteland is the best. I remember bitching when Tempest came out that they should have just sucked it up and put that exact flavor text on the card; I was giddy when they did the promo.

Other than those, I am prety far with foiling out my IcBE Goyf Control deck. I'll post some pictures after I've completed (received) my set of StP's. I still need Confidants, Vindicates and Needles, but those are a little expensive to acuire at the moment, with the holidays right around the corner.
I've already decided I want a Tabernacle for my birthday, so completing the deck will have to wait untill febuari. I'll still consider any offers on those Vindicates though.
I can absolutely guarantee you that this was so in 1997. At Origins that year, the highest I saw a Beta Orb was $20, and the lowest I saw Frostbringer was $25. I remember it clearly because I thought it was completely fucking insane, and it's one of those totally random things I will always clearly recall.Quote:
