I agree, Japanese just seems almost as common as English now. I prefer Japanese because I like the look of the text, but I also appreciate the look of German and Russian cards. Even picked up 2 German Lackeys yesterday and 2 Russian Tividar of Thorns from Channel Fireball recently. Also found a foil German Spore Frog for a friend which was neat.

how is buying japanese foils anymore wasteful than buying german cards or mtg cards at all - can't it all be seen as 'wasting' money?

Obviously you can't find any, take another 10 years and you still wont. Chinese foil welders do not exist, foils in chinese urza legacy packs were replaced with english ones, hence there are no chinese foils in the Urza block.

When a store makes their initial order for product when a new set comes out, Russian is one of the languages you can have shipped. If you know a store owner you could probably ask him to order a case for you (have to order at least one case in that language).

Personally, I like German the most. (being that I can actually read it somewhat) Though Japanese Look nice.

Absolutely. However, paying an extra $15-20 for a non English foil, is much different than paying 5 times the value of an English foil.

I wasn't sure where to post this one at. It's a collection I'm getting rid of for a friend, but man is it impressive. I didn't think this stuff was worth much until I added it up. I still have to decide on a realistic price. I just stuck something up for now until I find out what it's worth exactly. It's wild though to see all this in one place though.

It's really up to the eye of the beholder.Speaking of general MTG community trends, Jap and Rus are currently seen as the most pimp by the vast majority of the players. Korean is also very pimp (probably the most pimp and scarce), and discontinued in production. Chi is worth less than english to me. Ger is very nice and collectable, and a lot of players love it. Not worth as much as Jap/Rus version though. All these, minus Chi, are very scarce, with Korean and Russian being the top hard to find (for Korean ebay helps a lot, Russian is almost absent from online e-shops / forums, hence very hard to find.)

That is the Sea Poxy did for me. I love it very much :)

I dont know, why spending money on a hobby would be "ridiculous".
If people have fun getting the most rare versions of cards, or the versions that they like most, that is totally ok in my opinion. If you don't like it, feel free to not do it.

Minty Kor StP makes me happy, and also nice artist signature in gold makes me happy too :D

I have a Perish Kor signed that has ugly sharpy signature (freaking R.Guay did a horrendous job on that aquisition I had).

I'm not posting my recent aquisitions (nothing too pimp compared to all these insane jap foils and beta duals D: ) but I'm getting there soon :)

I also picked up another Beta Badlands locally which was sitting in my store's binder. They also had another (!) Scrubland, but that'd make 6 blackborder Scrubs, which is really just excessive.

I keep putting off posting my playset of German Wastelands. I figure people will like it, since German cards seem strangely popular around here.

One can never have too many Beta dual lands, I guess. It's just how many do I want of one copy?

Anyways, I'll do a photoshoot tonight and post tomorrow/late this evening.

I do agree that Beta duals are quite hot. What's even more hot is shitting on people with FBB pimped out decks, and questioning their budget pimp ;). To be honest, FBB does look really nice. It's very rich in colour, and I think for Seas I'd go FBB German, since Mint Beta Undergrounds are just out of my price range at the moment.

The Badlands I picked up today, it's NM/NM-. The Taiga I got a few weeks ago, but never scanned. It's Ex+ but signed (the scanner deck and toploaders are dirty). I figured it was worth keeping instead of burning because I could trade it for an unsigned one. To be honest, Markers will probably get it :)
