I agree with paradigm72. Swiftspear is terrible late game, but he's the reason for explosive T2s/T3s. He does a great job of getting 6-8 damage in and putting the opponent in range of sealing the game with Price.

With all due respect, 9 rounds is hardly a huge sample size and you didn't even play your last round according to your report. Plus, 4 of your wins came from having PoP against decks that run close to 0 basics. Now, you obviously had success with the deck and that's awesome, but I wouldn't be so quick to cut swiftspear after 1 tournament.

I'm not sure we should be building our lists to be better in the late game. I think part of the advantage this deck has is that it can get kills before your opponent really starts their game plan. Turn 3 and 4 kills are only possible because of this swifts pear.

On Eldrazi, although she isn't the greatest in the matchup, the matchup is very doable provided you are casting smash to smithereens on their chalices. I feel like it's probably 60% in our favor.

How do you guys sideboard against D&T?
I was thinking of bringing in Smash to Smithereens, Sudden Demise and Sulfuric Vortex to power down their Jitte/BS but what to cut?
Daze is an easy call when on the draw but otherwise?

I played the deck in ee4 as well, and finished 7th (7-0 then double draw into top 8, lost to the mirror). My deck is here at 7th place http://eemagic.com/Top8Legacy.html . The deck felt like it had a lot of really good matchups, and not that many terrible ones. I think adding a fireblast over a chain lightning or forked bolt is probably correct. 4 price of progress, at least in the 75, is something that I couldn't see myself ever cutting. The card is the number one reason to play this deck right now. I also would think about either swapping a fetch for another mountain or a red fetch, but the man is still pretty solid.

I really have to disagree with adding in snaps/true names and moving away from the agressive gameplan. It really feels like this deck isn't very good at that plan, and there are other delver decks that are much better at it (namely grixis and BUG). Using cantrips to find lands isn't where you want to be, and the only games I felt like I wasn't ahead were the ones where I wasn't being proactive in the first 1 or 2 turns. Very often you ate going to miss land 3 or 4 and/or using daze on turn 1 or 2, so your 3 and 4 mana spells are going to be pretty late.

The split in 2 drops is interesting and hard to know which way to go. Obviously storm chaser is better at being agressive and Pyro is better at getting board control, but the question is where should you want to end up. I liked how Pyro was stronger against removal heavy decks, since you could reliably sandbag it until you could get a token out of the deal. If I played it again this weekend I would probably play a 2 2 split again. My sideboard was also complete trash, and I would swap out at least 5 of the cards were I to play the deck again. Tarmogyf was a huge problem, so adding in a submerge or set adrift would be good.

I'd be happy to answer questions and what have you, but I don't consider myself an expert. But I definately feel that, if you're playing blue red delver, you want to be agressive and you don't want to be playing a slow version.

Jonny - I don't think most people do this but I run pretty focused sideboards. A lot of people do 2 and 1 ifs but I usually go the other way. That being said, my plan is usually

Out:
1 vapor snag(I feel it doesn't really pay to snag something they can play with value, or something they can vial back in instantly.)
1-2 price of progress (I usually run 3 main board. I keep at least one cause sometimes they can get hurt by it, but I often see them with just plains and wastelands that they can destroy other non basics if needed. I also just prefer to have things that impact the board in that matchup.
1-2 counters (daze on the draw, force on the play.) we counter for tempo in this matchup more often then we do to stay alive. I think it's fine to cut a counter.
If I have one more slot I need to cut, I usually just go with a ponder.

Vortex is interesting. My worry is that you might not always have three mana in time and that they can still use the other features of jitte. But it might be better against batterskull. Sometimes they can bounce in response to smash.

Pieson- good stuff dude! Way to make us u/r players proud. Especially if you felt your sideboard was trash.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. Even as a one-of replacing a single Probe. Feels like it can turn Stormchaser into a finisher as it is effective adding a bolt to it (if it is unblocked) AND then drawing a card... it also works just fine with the Young Pyro plan, making a guy and drawing a card - perhaps using it as a 'trick' when it looks like you only have bad blocks? Who knows really. Either way, very tempted to try it as a fun-of.

Smash to Smitherines is a must. Jitte, Batterskull, Chalice, pretty much beat you on the spot if you don't have an answer. Other artifacts like that make everything more expensive like trinisphere likely beat you if they sit on the field for to long.

I would also say flusterstorm is a must. It's very good against combo for obvious reasons, but it's also amazing vs infect. So often you will get in a situation where:
Them: pump
You: bolt
Them: pump
You: bolt or counter
Them: Pump or brain storm
Then you flusterstorm and undo everything they just did.

It's also a decent late game draw vs miracles for when you are counter topped out of the game. If they play their one of entreat, counterbalance only counters the copy you cast, and your storm copies still have to be dealt with. That being said, if you are countertopped out, you probably need something more than a flusterstorm.

I think I keep all match ups that make up a good 90 percent of the metagame in mind. I don't mind concessions to things like entrantress if it makes my eldrazzi game better. One thing to keep in mind is that instant and sorcery SB cards are typically better than other cards, just because they help out Delver, Pryo, and Snapcaster more depending on your build.

I really like that. Definitely worth a test. I could even see flipping that the next turn it comes in with countermagic. My issues with it are that with stormchaser if they bolt your guy, you can cast any spell and make the bolt ineffective, and we don't really benefit from the cheaper to cast clause. Perhaps FoWs become less of a 1 for 2? Firecrafts might become better?

The Homunculus seems interesting. Once he has flipped, which will happen most time on T3 or 4, he's out of bolt range and a solid beater but i fear he might be to slow... If he would transform at end step, it could be a different story..

Looks like a pretty typical Stormchaser list, with 1 Snapcaster, Pierce/Snare split, and no Chain Lightnings. Interestingly, the BOM Strasbourg metagame called out UR Delver specifically on their metagame breakdown, with a share of 4.9%. It's been a while since the deck was that popular but Price of Progress seems to continue to be strong in the metagame.

I've been finding Young Pyromancer even in burn-heavy lists to be very strong. Playing a 3/3 split of Pyromancer/Stormchaser right now. Pyromancer seems to be so much better in post-board games, where the opponent is almost certain to have some kind of removal to blunt an early assault and drag the game out. I pulled out a win against Shardless the other night by blocking what felt like 30-40 Tarmogoyf damage with Elemental tokens before eventually burning him out.

Not convinced at all on Curious Homunculus - I think it's actually a worse topdeck than Stormchaser, since on those critical turns where you need gas, you often really need the haste and evasion to get in an extra point or two of damage right now.

However, casting him is going to take some time. He reminds me a lot of Tombstalker, which was typically only played as 2 copies since you didn't want to see it too early.

However this guy has built-in card draw and doesn't exile the requisite spells... So it's hard to say right now how many copies a UR deck could reasonably support.

Two should be enough. That way you almost certain you will meet the requirements to cast it for only RR. needs testing though.

I've tested the devil today as a 2-of but sadly only drew him in two games.
Getting 6 Instant/Sorceries into the yard has been doable by turn 3 in one game and turn 5 in the scond one.
I casted him t5 both games with no cards in hand and won one game on the spot because of a drawn Bolt. He definitely has a lot potential for UR Delver builds, especially if you are running "8" bolts to draw into :D

He may cost 1 to much to be awesome but should be easily played for RR on T5 or even T4 and gets you more gas which is quit what this deck lacked since TC ban.

What was your list?

So I'm usually a Grixis delver player, but I really want to cast some Price of Progress. How well positioned do you feel this deck is right now? I'm trying to decide what to take to Worcester, and I don't know if it's this or Grixis. Is Grixis just the better deck, or do you think I would have better luck going under my opponents with this list?

Really excited to try Chaos Reveller, this is the first thought on the deck.

Few notes

Lack of Daze - maybe there should be a couple, but I want the build to be as proactive as possible to get value off Reveller. People will still play around it, could be a mistake though. Having only two isn't that crazy.

Therapy seems great with Thought Scours, worth the splash probably.

No basics. Not sure on this, but I can see a lot of awkward hands with reveller and cantrips. Seas are already essentially islands from his perspective.
