The R&D shill said something about 'abilities that allow them to fight bigger creatures'. So we may see a cycle of 5cc critters with relatively weak anti-creature effects.

Well, if it was ZZW it wouldn't have even been good; you'd probably be dead before you could cast it and better off drafting 1/2-drops with Landfall triggers.
Hopefully BFZ Limited won't be a beatdown-centric format as Origins has already filled that niche for awhile.

Not sure if Welder decks/MUD could utilize it.
Also, Allies can now support all your creatures:
Quote:
Hero of Goma Fada 4W
Human Knight Ally
Rally- Whenever Hero of Goma Fada or another Ally enters the battlefield under your control, creatures you contrail gain indestructible until end of turn.

The Archive is a mini Dreamstone Hedron. I actually like it better than Dreamstone...
I was trolling through Gatherer and saw Darksteel Garrison. Given that Zendikar is a 'lands matter' plane, I wonder if they'll try to give this awful mechanic a try...
Mini Dreamstone Hedron, also a giant Mind Stone. Maybe the next unglued expansion will have a version that costs 0, taps for 0 mana, and draws 0 cards.
The CC is a bit high, but defitely seems like it has potential.
its sad Ornithopter is better than the mini-mindstone you want lol
also a representation of that theory crafted card of awesomeness

Servant's Nightmare (2)
Enchantment creature - horror (rare)
All cards that aren't on the battlefield, spells, and permanents are colorless.

kinda simply a hoser; stops Mom, stops things like the swords of XnY,stops ichorid, stops shoal cycle, stops a Ugin -, stops force of will, natural order, nettle sentinel, stops blast effects. idk just seems kinda fun that it should exist perhaps in an Un set or Conspiracy 2

Make me wish it was actually cheaper instead of EDH fooder, so it could tag-team with Titania.
Possible natural order target in Sylvan plug perhaps?
This guy seems like he could be a combo element.

Completely unconfirmed, but this was posted by a guy who spoiled Omnath a few weeks ago on the Sally:
Very interesting for Modern, if the land spoilers are true. Shit in Legacy, though.Quote:
Allied Dual lands read something like this.
G/W land
Forest Plains
G/W land comes into play tapped unless you control atleast two basic lands.
You're welcome
Gideon is as follows
2WW
4 loyalty
+1 Gideon becomes 5/5 indestructible ally soldier creature until end of turn, reduce all damage done to him to 0. He is still a planeswalker.
0 or -1 can't remember- Put a 1/1 ally (knight?) into play
-4 you get an emblem, Creatures you control get +1/+1
If real (which I doubt, I can't imagine they'd put fetchlands and fetchable duals in Standard together), they'd still be awful in Modern. It means that, best case scenario, you can get it untapped on turn 3. Best case scenario. So, until turn 3, the shocklands are strictly better. Then you get into the fact that any deck running enough basic lands to reliably have this be untapped on turn 3 aren't likely to want to use this anyway due to, well, them presumably being mono-colored at that point.
I think with the shorter turn around time mixed with the Lands large drawbacks that they could be real. I mean they are not going to be replacing Shocks or Duals, but they are interesting and they seem reasonable.
Lots of Limited fodder is spoiled right now. As expected, there are going to be more Eldrazi that get boni from interacting with your opponent's exile zone. Nothing for Legacy so far, though.
Also noteworthy: 0/1 Spawn tokens got replaced by 1/1 Eldrazi Scion tokens (they still produce :1: on sac).

Zendikari expeditions are 25 full art premium mythic rares that can appear in bfz boosters, they consist of 10 shocks, 10 fetches and 5 new bfz duals. There will also be 20 in the winter set.
Oh look, a substantially worse version of shocklands. Yawn. And here I was all excited for something cool like enemy manlands (preferably with the allied manlands returning in the next set).
New Ulamog is rather cool though.
I'm happy to see they're reprinting enemy fetches, but holy hell are those borders unattractive. Also, before you unload any hoarded fetches in a panic, remember: these are slightly more common than foil mythics, which makes them not very common at all. The supply here is not going to increase a ton, probably more in line with the first rather than the second Modern Masters.
I just hope they don't try to deliver a shitty set that they're going to sell on the back of land swag. The last time they did that, we got Dragon's Maze.
@Lord Seth: Who said that we don't get enemy manlands?
The new lands aren't very good on their own, but having them+fetchlands in standard at the same time is pretty crazy.
The premium lands are cool, but I wish they could have done away with the text.
Ehhhh, I don't know that it is strictly worse. Arguably if one has no immediate need to control two land types (no like Nacatls or whatever) and your opening turns aren't subject to permutations of the colors in your deck, then you're not opening yourself up to damage just for trying to curve out.
They rarely would matter in Legacy regardless, but the fact that they're willing to print variations on the dual land theme that includes land types is a nice sign. I guess.
Hrm... it's theoretically possible, but when was the last time a single set had a full, 10-card cycle of rare dual lands?
I didn't say strictly worse; of course they aren't. I said substantially worse. That said, unless you're playing cards like Explore, they are strictly worse than shocklands until turn 3.
