Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Pieces of the Puzzle seems not that great. It's a 3 mana sorcery that doesn't win the game. Unlike storm, we're not able to win after casting it since we need our lands to produce our mana instead of rituals and artifacts. It also doesn't find Omni or Emrakul. I would probably rather run Impulse.

PotP is absurd post Omni and cardadvantage before that. Digging for a FoW+X or S&T+X is fine. Its no tutor like Intuition though

It's very popular online. Check out the 5-0 lists on mtggoldfish.com.
Most lists use 3 or 4.

So I tested Pieces a bit and it definately has potential but as Lemnear said, it's probably not better than intuition.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I've been playing the pieces build and it does provide some benefit over intuition. Intuition is better once omniscience is on the field, sure, but before that it provides stronger options on your part as you don't let your opponent decide. If I have already forced 2 things but need that last counterspell to protect the combo, intuition won't get me there but pieces might.
I especially found that I want it more when I have my 1 of dream halls on the field, as it provides a card I am looking for and something to pitch to it.
I would like to try the replenish build as a secondary approach, but unfortunately Tundra's are a thing.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Managed to win a 79-man yesterday playing a UR version with PotP. The list is very close to ktmr-39's list from mtggoldfish. I made some changes to the mana base and a lot of changes to the SB. Here's the list I played: http://mtgpulse.com/event/26416#348210

Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Hey there folks,
After spending the last months playing BR Reanimator (I had a blast playing it, but I haven't really got great results and the metagame is too prepared for it right now IMO), I've re-sleeved Omni-Tell again. I played it last week in a small 10-people tournament, ending 2-0-2, winning vs Burn and Infect and drawing vs TES and Bant. I played the same U/B version that I used to play last year (with Thoughtseizes and Lim-Dûl's Vault), as I'm still satisfied with it. However, there's a couple things I still don't like about the build:
* The 2xDaze/Pierce slot: the "established" list plays 2 Dazes, I prefer the Pierces. I understand the drawback of Pierce over Daze (you have to keep U open to protect yourself versus Hymns/Lilianas/etc instead of playing cantrips), but I don't want to lose any land drop. Anyway, I've never liked the Pierces too much.
* The 2xBoseiju main: I'm not facing Miracles too much lately, and I'm always siding out Boseiju games 2-3. So I'm thinking about moving these to the sideboard, and free 2 slots in the maindeck.
So there's 4 free slots we can use in the maindeck. And I thought: Why not fill these spaces with 3xIntuition? It's an instant (which is good after resolving Omniscience, in the case we need to win "in response"), it's a tutor to help us find the missing pieces, it's blue so it pitches to FoW, and we can side them out games 2-3 to avoid surgicals from the opponent. If we make this change, we will find ourselves with 11 cards costing 2U, so we'll probably need the 3rd Ancient Tomb to support them.
So this is the list I'll be testing in the next weeks:
MD
3 Ancient Tomb
5 Island
1 Swamp
2 Underground Sea
4 Polluted Delta
4 <other blue fetchlands>
4 Show and Tell
4 Omniscience
4 Cunning Wish
3 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
4 Force of Will
4 Thoughtseize
4 Brainstorm
4 Ponder
4 Preordain
3 Intuition
3 Lim-Dûl's Vault
SB*
2 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
2 Massacre
2 Toxic Deluge
1 Release the Ants
1 Firemind's Foresight
1 Eladamri's Call
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Noxious Revival
1 Wipe Away
1 Echoing Truth
1 Flusterstorm
1 Trickbind
*: I'll have to find some space for 1-3 Fatal Push when there's released
I'm not sure if this is nonsense or if it could actually work. Anyway I'll be testing it and I'll let you know. Thanks for reading and sorry for my poor English!
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I would recommend trying out -1 Preordain, -3 Intuition, +4 Gitaxian Probe if you are going to skip out on Boseiju and Daze. With the additional free cantrips, LDV is more effective, and unless you face burn every round, the life loss won't matter. Probe has some other benefits, in particular allowing you to be more aggressive with SnT/Emrakul (now you have 8 ways of looking at their hand).
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I really like the Gitaxian idea. I tried Intuition yesterday and I wasn't really sold on it (I went 1-3, but I think that's due more to variance and some missplay that to the Intuiton plan). This next Saturday is the Catalan Legacy League, I'll try the Gitaxian instead Intuition. Thanks emidln!

Gitaxian probe is nice, it does help you set up counters/ feeling comfortable to combo off. But playing 0 dazes to not miss a land drop seems doubtful at best. Snt is a combo control deck.
Yeah you want speed, and you're interacting through force and thought seize but a daze or 2 helps keep your opponents board down, plus you can cast SnT with the extra back up. However, at some point you know your list better and feel more comfortable playing one way or another, so good luck with weekend.
As a side board note, I would probably include another revival/surgical, reanimator is all over the place.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Played a 184 player tournament here in Brazil (national), with U/b list. Went 5x3 with a missplay that cost me the tornament. I used the following list:
Creatures (2):
2 Emrakul
Spells (38):
4 Brainstrom
4 ponder
3 preorden
2 gitaxian probe
1 SDT
3 thoughtseize
4 force of will
2 Daze
4 Show and Tell
4 Omniscience
4 Cunning Wish
1 lotus petal
2 limduls voult
Lands:
2 Boseju
5 islands
1 Swamp
4 Polluted Delta
2 Scalding Tarn
1 Flooded Strand
2 underground sea
2 city of traitors
1 ancient tomb
Sideboard:
1 flustestrom (It was lended, any suggestions for a substitute (because of the price) ??)
1 engineered explosives
1 spell pierce (Horrible sideboard choice)
1 surgical extraction
1 slaughter pact
1 toxic deluge
1 massacre
1 noxious revival
1 FF
1 release the ants
1 EC
1 Limduls vault
1 wipeaway (didnt use, maybe changing)
1 echoing truth
1trickbind
In general I think the list was pretty solid, I miss played some times because i didn't train very often. I lost for 1 DnT, 1 hight tide; 1 shardless bug.
I really dont know how to side in/out against shardless. It was the only match that was really tence to win. I prefered 2 linduls vault in main deck, the cast is great, but I think 3 in Md is really too greedy. Lutus petal is a rush tentative against combo decks and a tricky (people think its sneak and show).
Any suggestions and comments, please say ! Thanks for all folks !
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Maybe this has been hashed out before, but is there any argument for replacing Eladamri's Call with Congregation at Dawn to let you find a Flusterstorm (or other 1 CMC sideboard card) with Firemind's Foresight instead of a Brainstorm?

Congregation at Dawn puts creatures on top of your library. You would still need a Brainstorm if you wanted your Emrakul.
You don't always have to get Brainstorm / LDV / Wish(->ECall) with your FF. I often get Flusterstorm / LDV / Wish->ECall and then ECall for Emrakul, cast Emrakul, and then cast LDV to find another Emrakul/Wish to confirm the kill (since I'll draw the LDV card on my draw step).
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
This is in the context of Release the Ants. I guess Call is still better in situations where the Firemind's Foresight gets countered, as it makes the next Wish you draw better.

I think it's pretty rare that I need to both Release the Ants over Emrakul to win and my Firemind's Foresight resolves such that getting Flusterstorm would matter. Does this scenario ever come up for you?
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Experienced a particularly ridiculous game last night on Xmage, and I think some of you might appreciate it.
Was fighting what was more or less the mirror. I was on UB Omnitell, and he was either Sneak and Show, or simply UR Omni, but I never got to find out for certain.
I took the first game, but will spare you the details, as game 2 was the truly interesting bout.
We take our time this game, sculpting our hands over multiple turns, and essentially daring each other to go first.
Eventually he plays Boseiju, and passes the turn, which was all the prompting I needed to just go for it.
My hand at this point is: SnT, Omniscience, Intuition, LdV, Brainstorm, FoW, Cunning wish, Enter the infinite.
I fire off show and tell, which he lets resolve, and we both drop omniscience.
I cast enter the infinite, which he attempts to force.
I respond with intuition, choosing three FoW, then fire back at his force with one of my own.
Wouldn't you know it? He happens to have another handy, and attempts to force my force, which gives me a handy excuse to use the one I just grabbed off intuition.
He decides it's a good time to think about the situation, and casts brainstorm.
I respond with LdV, which resolves, so I quest for my singleton flusterstorm. Just so happens the 5 that contained it also held Emrakul as well. JOY!
So I stack flusterstorm, then Emrakul on top.
I cunning wish, and he retorts with spell pierce for my wish.
Brainstorm is now the only card I have in hand. Nothing for it but to go for it, so I cast it.
He cunning wishes in response, grabbing Firemind's foresight.
Foresight nets him his own intuition, split decision, and a flusterstorm.
He casts intuition, searching up two FOW, and another flusterstorm. I let him have a force.
Strangely, he lets my brainstorm resolve, so I opt to grab Ms. oodles of noodles, and hope for the best.
For his next act he split decisions, to copy spell pierce to apply further pressure to my already beleaguered cunning wish.
Finally this ridiculous stack fully resolves.
I play Emrakul, and proceed to beat my utterly flabbergasted opponent. :3
The mirror match is usually a fun dance, but this was definitely by far the craziest stack battle I've ever had the pleasure of participating in.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Hey Grievers,
I haven't played OmniTell in the last months, but if I should play it again, I would stick with the U/B version I was playing. Black has access to maindeck protection (Thoughtseize) and tutors (Lim-Dûl's Vault really shines in this build), and to removal post-side (I was playing 2 Massacres, 2 Toxic Deluges and sometimes 1 Slaughter Pact; right now I would play 2-3 Fatal Pushes for sure). Regarding to the EtI question, I think there is no need to play it right now; if you play 4 Cunning Wishes you can win on the spot (or in response to any threat the opponent could deploy from our Show and Tell), and Wishes give us more sideboard flexibility.
Hope it helps!
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
Grievers, I wouldn't let the lack of underground sea stop you from getting in on the UB build. Watery Grave, while less attractive, is still a workable substitute.
I run a couple EtI because I find it useful now and again. Especially so when my opponent drops in Prelate on 3 from a show and tell, or miracles counter/top has a three drop floating.
The only times I dislike EtI are when Leovold rears his ugly head, or instant speed removal is gunning for omniscience when I lack countermagic.
I can definitely agree about it being clunky sometimes, but I wouldn't at all consider it useless.
Re: [Deck] MonoU OmniTell
I played 3 Emrakuls precisely to improve the matchup vs Death & Taxes and Miracles (and 2 Boseiju main vs Miracles too, though this is situational). So in these matchups Cunning is less important, you can go Show to Omni to Emmy.
I can see playing EtI if you are playing Dream Halls too, as a way to skip Show and Tell hate (Meddling Mage, Surgicals, etc). Anyway, I prefer to assume the risk of playing Show and Tell as the only enabler of the deck, better than play clunkier cards. Just my opinion :)

I like the third Emrakul to increase the 3 card combo hands vs Miracles/DnT and I also like playing green for Abrupt Decays.
