Yep Justin (niknight) & I are also at the site hotel. Be nice to meet a bunch of Sourcers that don't live in MA/NE/NY/VA.

all 2 of us lol. I am not quite sure about partying like a rock star at the ritz at $500 a night they might frown on it but I am having a fucking party somewhere damn it that friday is my birthday.
I really dont care if I scrub out during the main event, I am just going to play in every event I can fit in during the weekend. Odds are I will win something lol.
Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
Sounds fun. I look forward to seeing (most) everyone again.

We might have an extra space in our room. Send naked pics and we'll decide.

I also have 2 spots open in my car for the trip down. It's cheaper than the train/flying, 11 hours in a car is ok by me. I have a 2007 Sonata with lots of room and 30 mpg. PM me if you still need a ride.

Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
The artists are announced:
http://www.pastimes.net/grandprix.htm
It's Rob Alexander  and Alan Pollock
Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
Search by artist, the only reason to ever use Gatherer over magiccards.info:
Rob Alexander
Alan Pollack
Not even that (Alexander and Pollack) - NC
Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
Man, Pollack goes to everything. Too bad he doesn't have more good cards than he does.
Rob Alexander is great, very approachable - I've probably talked to him more than any other artist.

Also, he did Badlands, Taiga, Underground Sea (!!!), Polluted Delta, Flooded Strand, Wooded Foothills, and probably some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.
So he's basically a Legacy player's wet dream when it comes to signing shit.
Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
im sad my playmat has art from alexander and pollack on it already
i was really hoping for someone else
Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
Well, I'll be there also so hopefully I can catch up with some people for a beer. I hate driving in large cities so I'll be hanging out at the hotel a lot.
Out of curiousity, how many cards can you get an artist to sign? I have a full playset of foil Fetches and beta duals I'd love to hit up Rob with, but that seems excessive.
Damn, that guy did half of what is worth a crap for lands that were ever printed. Duals, Fetches, Ravnica Duals, even the Filter lands in standard. Demonic Consultation, Lim Duls Vault, and a ton of other playables.
Re: [Announcement] March 7-8: Grand Prix Chicago 2009
Usually 20 at a time...but nothing stops you from getting in line again  Sucks when you're playing, but it looks like they might have the artists there quite a bit over several days.
