Well, both Miracles and Omnitell might have been good or at least somewhat favorable with a good sideboard, but in different ways, both felt very precarious because they had the ability to come from behind and "slam the door" against virtually any board. Elves feel similar, but I've found them somewhat easier to interact with and therefore less threatening. It looks like my Firespout tech will remain in my board for some time.
Edit: I think Jitte might work. What would you replace?

The problem with putting a single copy in the sideboard is that it does not do enough by itself and we are, as you said, creature light.
If you can manage some space I can see putting 2 SFM and 1 Jitte in the sideboard, but then the question is if it is really impactufl to take 3 sb slots?
Considering that I sometimes find myself going down to only ten creatures, I don't think I could ever justify sporting a Jitte. I wouldn't fault anyone for trying it, but I personally wouldn't.
Also, I think Thalia would probably be on the chopping block before Ethersworn Canonist.

I currently have a jitte in my board. (decklist in sig) It hasn't been great in the DTT meta, but will probably be better now. I was on the fence about cutting it for a decay.
I'm playing 10 creatures and never find myself without one to attach it to. Worst case scenario I stick it onto a tree and send it forth to die for counters. I think in general when I bring it in I also want to be bringing in some creatures.
You really don't need to play SFM with it tho. I've seen it out of jund and merfolk and such as a trump against creature decks.
I likewise have never had much trouble with elves. Chalice is insane, boardwipes are insane. Teeg is quite good. Pfire is gas. wasteland is live.. decay is fine. The only thing is, in that matchup I mull for a turn 1 play. If they get under you they can actually win.
It'd likely take the place of one of the Charms. If it connects, it's absolutely devastating to Elves and other creature based decks.
I also don't think it's necessary to run SFM to grab it.
Dare I say it, but could Burning Wish/Devastating Dreams be a thing again?

I'm pretty sure I'd mull it most of the time. If not, Mox away the wasteland, zenith up a dryad and hope to survive their turn with both mana sources intact. They will smell blood in the water tho so most removal and counters put you in a pretty weak spot. On the draw this potentially is way better. I'd mull in the blind but expect some people to keep on the draw.Quote:

Yeah, it wasn't showing up on mobile. Interestingly, he took 3rd in the main event and 7th in the side event, making minor changes between events. The changes were -1 Garruk Relentless, -1 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben => +1 Ajani Vengeant, +1 Containment Priest. Think it was a meta call for the day, or a reflection of some dissatisfaction with the prior configuration? My only quibble is the 2 Leyline...I can see 1, 3, or 4, but 2 just seems to be the most awkward number. Am I wrong for thinking this?
Also, I'll be trying out the 4th Decay over the Deathrite. Who knows, I might dig it.
You're not wrong for thinking it. If you're in a bind against Dredge or Reanimator and know you have three Leylines in your deck, it's not unreasonable to try and mull for them. But if you only have two, you're gambling quite a bit. It's a one number difference, but I feel like it's significant enough to justify your gut reaction. Beyond that, I've always been happy with three on a sheer quantity basis. Every once in a while I'll consider cutting one, but then I remember that Lands is a bitch and I'm willing to even hardcast Leylines against such a fiend.Quote:

Hey guys, this is Johannes Gutbrod. I really enjoyed playing this deck @ Ovino to top 8 and top 4 split.
After local tournaments which went pretty well I finally finished highly somewhere, where it will get noticed ;)
If you guys are interested I might wright a smallish report, as I took notes after each match?!
Regarding the sideboard questions:
The canges where the other way round than mentioned by bakofried.
I changed the 3rd Leyline for a Containment Priest about one month ago, due to the uprising of Sneak Attack and Elves in my local meta.
On Friday I never boarded it and thought that I overthought the metagame change and was sure to not play it on saturday.
The second Thalia is a card I go back and forth about but atm I think ist quite good due to versatility. You can bring it against storm (where I prefer it over Canonist, due to slowing their cantrips down immensly and beeing a legend for Karakas and some other corner-case scenarios). She is great against Burn too (which I faced 2 times during the swiss on saturday) and you can bring her against Miracles (best on the play ofc).
The meta in Italy was very midrangey with lots of Shardless, Team America and Miracles. That's why I wanted another resilient thread: a planeswalker. I first opted for Ajani but realized that I prefered the versatility of Garruk. The token generation is much more important than tapping lands against Miracles for example too. Downsides is him being and staying boltable and vulnerable to Clique and that flipped Garruk is decayable...
For the Maindeck:
I HATE Deathrite Shaman!! It's just so poor to draw him in midgame and not beeing able to cast him. We will Keep Chalice in 80% of our games, so this Scenario isn't very unlikely. When Zenithing I rarely wished for Deatrite. It's either Dyrad or Knight or the utility creatures for their given MU's (Teeg vs Miracle, Ooze vs Dredge...).
So I cutted him for Pridemage (as he was flexible against Equipment, Vial, Balance and to a lesser extent Omni). With the decline of omni and the now big uprising of Miracles, Pridemage suffers the same Scenario as Deathrite prior. He might not be castable in the situation where we want his effect (for example agianst active Balance). Decay is just ultra flexible and one of our best cards against MentorMiracles too. It's one more removal for Delver strategies and Goyfs out of tempo decks too. These are scary scenarios when those decks just flood you with creatures you can't handle fast enough to play out your hand and enjoy your much stronger lategame plan (I think this is a scenario all of us have experienced^^).
This is all I have in my mind right now concerning the deck :)

2 more turn 1 accelerants (3 more turn 1 plays) makes it much harder for the opponent to just get under you and invalidate your gameplan. I board out DRS in most of the fair/slow matchups but as bad as the card feels when you draw him turn 5 what he does for the deck is important enough IMO to suffer those feel-bads. The deck is strong enough in the late game to be okay-ish drawing dead stuff like DRS, Mox, extra chalices, libraries etc IMO but I win maybe 30% more games when I start with a turn 1 accelerant than when I don't.
