It is pretty good, and in the control mirror (specifically miracles) Elspeth is basically the best card that can resolve. It's often better than jace.

In an environment without Terminus you are correct. What flying Rogue are you referring to? Also, resolving a threat can be difficult against miracles, let alone 2 (creature+equipment). In this way Elspeth is by far the better threat in that it's very difficult for them to do anything about once resolved, it creates threats and also pumps plus gives evasion all on its own.

So how do you peeps board against elves?

ok, this is my current 75' after some playtest. cut TNN, Venser, add some more countermagic(1cspell) an sweep (+1verdict) and add more fetches to 8. Elspeth works so damn good in this deck and Factories are insane. Im thinking to add 1 elspeth #2 and plaz on 61 cards, its not a problem with full toolboxed deck i think. how it looks for you guys:)?
4 Stoneforge Mystic
2 Snapcaster Mage
2 Vendilion Clique
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Brainstorm
4 Force of Will
2 Spell Pierce
2 Counterspell
2 Spell Snare
3 Supreme Verdict
3 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
1 Elspeth, Knight-Errant
1 Umezawa's Jitte
1 Batterskull
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
1 Detention Sphere
1 Academy Ruins
4 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
2 Marsh Flats
4 Island
3 Plains
2 Tundra
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Karakas
SB: 1 Sword of Feast and Famine
SB: 4 Meddling Mage
SB: 2 Flusterstorm
SB: 1 Pithing Needle
SB: 2 Rest in Peace
SB: 1 Humility
SB: 1 Enlightened Tutor
SB: 1 Oblivion Ring
SB: 2 Disenchant
I deeply dislike and disapprove of 3 maindeck Verdict in a meta such as the current one, along with not running a single nemesis. I see no reason to run that many md sweeps and also not run the best equipment carrier in the game. What on earth is going on?

He is referring to TNN pumped by Elspeth. TNN is a rogue. Elspeth gives flying
You should bring in Supreme Verdicts. As many as you have.
His list is similar to this one - http://sales.starcitygames.com//deck...p?DeckID=62701.
It aims to solve the TNN problem by blowing up the board as many times as possible. Why would you overload on MD sweepers and still run TNN? That makes no sense when the whole point of running 3x Verdict is to *beat* TNN.
You strike me as an odd fellow. I like you.
I get that's what he was referring to. I was simply astounded that anyone believes that they will be able to resolve 3 powerful threats against the premier control deck of the current meta.
What about Zealous Persecution? Does that help much or is Verdict better (specific to the elves matchup)?
I guess my post was unclear. I didn't mean run md 3 Verdict and also TNN, but rather fewer Verdict and then some number of Nemeses.
I am an odd fellow. Also, I like what you have done to assist in the bettering of elves.

ZP is a cute idea, and would be fairly effective, but for whatever reason I don't see many people playing it right now. Verdict is just more flexible and can be used in other matchups (+being blue doesn't hurt). It can hit Progenitus as well as Deathrites and Nettle Sentinels. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but if an Elves player has a bunch of X/2s on the board after a ZP, then their Natural Orders are still live draws if they are on the Progenitus plan.
Is Grafdiggers Cage an acceptable choice for shutting down the tutoring capabilities of the pointy-ears (I run 1)? I run 2x ZP for the D&T/elves matchup. It's improbable that you are able to cast a Supreme Verdict in time against D&T through wasteland, port and Thalia.

Cage is good. But anticipate Viridian Shaman + Abrupt Decay.
I didn't think about D&T as a reason not to run Verdict. You could try Engineered Explosives as a 1 of as well.
1. i run 3 SV because it is a some rule in legacy...Play combo or deck who deal with it...the same with TNN...play TNN or know how to kill them well.
2.SV is blue - always can be fuel for FOW
3. verdict cant be countered and this is a so big power
4. verdict dont hurt me...4xmishra and Elspeth works well with sweep.
5. i dont have B color in this time ;)
HardBrain, I understand all that. My problem with your list is simply this: Why no TNN? Why not play ~3 TNN and then 1-2 Verdict main with 1-2 (3 max in the 75 imo) for your original use of them?
Danyul, I do, thanks. The EE isn't a bad idea and I've used it before. I may just do that.

If you're playing with SFM, it'd be insane not to run TNN also. I know that there are still Esper lists out there still on the SFM-Lingering Souls plan, even though that just seems worse than SFM-TNN right now. But in straight UW? It's SFM-TNN or bust.
So currently my sideboard is this:
2 Zealous Persecution
1 Grafdigger's Cage
2 Rest in Peace
X Meddling Mage
X Vendilion Clique (1 md already)
1 Engineered Explosives
2 Flusterstorm
1 Swan Song (?)
X Pithing Needle
X Supreme Verdict (1 md already)
This is where I'm at. I am a bit torn on several choices and on some match ups I don't have a clue... How hard is the Sneak and Show match? I've never been able to test against it. I would like thoughts on what I have so far. I would also like to hear your opinions on what you believe your bad match ups are and how/what you like to board against them. This is a learning experience for me and I would deeply value all and much input.
Thanks.

You may want to consider a 1-of Disenchant in place of either the EE or Verdict. Being able to Disenchant (and Snapcaster for value) is pretty big right now with so much Equipment and Sneak Attack around.
+1 Disenchant. I agree. How about Diabolic Edict?

I'm not sure. I used to play Esperblade back when Vidi's GP Denver list was boss, but I've been on UW Stoneblade since November 1st, 2013, so I don't know what Esperblade players are trying to do versus Sneak & Show (Diabolic seems reasonable here) and TNN (seems okay, but prolly less good due to SFM-TNN usually having more than just 1 creature out in play).
A SB Humility and some Swan Songs. I don't fret over any more than I would another combo deck. I have 4 MD discards, 6 counterspells with 3 MM, and more countermagic in the board.
Have you Esper players really found discard to be that good versus A+B combo? Back when I was on Vidi's GP Denver list, I always found discard to be "meh" versus A+B combo, but much better versus Storm combo. With A+B, I would snag an A (or B) piece, but they'd just cantrip into another and go off... this sucks when it happens to you. Against Storm combo though, if I could snag their engine card, they floundered for many turns trying to find a workaround. I don't know, I don't think discard is that good against A+B combo, but I could be wrong as I haven't played with it in quite some time.
