It's just the player version of "deal X damage" vs "gets -X/-X", they behave differently but sometimes have similar outcomes. How is it harmful?Quote:

Barrin is probably designed with Niambi (the new WU flash bouncer) in mind. I just don't see enough payoff jumping through that many hoops for one extra card each of your turns when something like Monarch exists, at least in Legacy.
Barrin seems fine in Aluren as a more interactive Harpy option.
Difference is that receiving damage counts as losing life, but not the other way around. So most of the time - barring damage amplifying effects - making your opponent lose life is better than dealing them damage, since there are many ways of preventing damage but not many ways of preventing life loss. I say this is harmful because it puts Red at a disadvantage compared to Black.Quote:
