Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
Once you start talking about Tombstalker in this deck you'd be better of playing some other version of Landstill like Tombstill (which btw is very bad.) There was a European Dreadstill list that ran hoofprints of the stag and he did quite well with it taking 1st or 3rd I believe so it's already been tested and has proven itself to be good.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
As far as win conditions go, however, I think the deck should try to move away from ones that get absolutely railed by Krosan Grip.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
How often do you mulligan because you had only colorless mana producing lands in your opening hand?
There are 7! colorless producing lands MB, and i think its too fragile.
The other thing is that SS is to much risk without Wasteland, so you have to play those lands.
Or it's just me who gets srewed by Wasteland/Factory?
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
I added more lands to my build for that reason, just curious how many you run? I currently have 21 in my build.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
i have an idea:
i dont know dread stills match ups too well but i take it that you are a combo with protection and are therefore fairly good against control and have countermagic against combo. and are probably decent against aggro.
well.
does anyone know wat reins of power does?
Reins of Power 2(u)(u)
Instant
You and target player each exchange control of creatures until end of turn. Untap those creatures and they gain haste until end of turn.
R
its something like that.
say your opponent plays out a bunch of elves in one turn but they are all tapped because you need them to tap to play more of them. thats how modern elves works i think. this would be a perfect card to take advantage of that.
also its not just you gaining control of their creatures. you can gain control of them, attack your opponent with them for alot but not lethal damage. and then play a dreadnought and sac all of his creatures to it and let the nought die: you just played insurrection + wog for 2(u)(u) + 1 .
it mite be too slow but maybe test it. it would help your game against aggro i believe.

I think if your oponent had a bunch of elves you'd be better off playing Pyroclasm or Firesprout as it's less mana intensive. Just for reference I'll post my lastest list.
// Lands
3 [ON] Polluted Delta
3 [ON] Flooded Strand
3 [REW] Wasteland
4 [AQ] Mishra's Factory (3)
6 [BD] Island (3)
2 [U] Volcanic Island
// Creatures
4 [MI] Phyrexian Dreadnought
3 [FD] Trinket Mage
// Spells
4 [5E] Brainstorm
4 [NE] Daze
4 [AL] Force of Will
4 [SC] Stifle
3 [CS] Counterbalance
2 [CHK] Sensei's Divining Top
4 [OD] Standstill
2 [TSP] Trickbind
2 [FD] Engineered Explosives
3 [DIS] Spell Snare
// Sideboard
SB: 2 [SOK] Pithing Needle
SB: 3 [DK] Tormod's Crypt
SB: 3 [R] Blue Elemental Blast
SB: 2 [DS] Echoing Truth
SB: 3 [A] Red Elemental Blast
SB: 2 [10E] Pyroclasm
You can also go -1 Crypt +1 Clasm in the board too depending on your meta.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
Reins Of Power seems way too narrow. What happens when you opponent has less than 12 power on his side?

He speaks the truth.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
@ THEchubbymuffin
actually you dont want them to have 12 power. that is bad. because then they get to keep a 12/12 trampler when they regain control of their creatures i think?? thats probably wrong. but either way you get rid of all their stuff which is the relevant part, and you deal them a shit ton of damage with their creatures.
@ Roodmistah
ya you could be playing that cause its not as mana intensive but it does allow you to win with the spell unlike pyroclasm. their are charbelcher builds that play a SB that transforms into aethersnap croprotation and dark depths. and that would be a nice side in against that. and its good against aggro. idk. test it man.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
That belongs in the dreaded fish thread.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
Here's a list that caught my eye that looked pretty crazy U/W that took 1st.
1) Fabio Ivona - Uw Dreadstill
4 Enlightned Tutor
3 mishra factory
4 stifle
1 EE
4 daze
4 force of will
2 sensei diving top
2 trickbind
4 standstill
1 Needle
4 Phyrexian Dreadnought
4 brainstorm
3 counterbalance
2 vedalken shackles
1 crucible of worlds
1 underground sea
3 flooded strand
3 island
4 tundra
3 wasteland
3 polluted delta
// Side
1 trickbind
1 cop: red
3 meddling mage
2 crypt
1 sacred ground
1 aegis of honor
1 EE
2 chill
3 misdirection
Obviously running 4x ET maindecked with the toolbox board is really savage in itself. he also has the mages for Grip and misdirects for swords im assuming. So many options for him with the 1x Crucible main and 2x Shackles to tutor up.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
~ I've tested ET 2 month ago, and i thought that ET is not what this deck needs.
As a white list i prefer: http://www.deckcheck.net/deck.php?id=16797
I wondered that no UB list is successfull, Thoughtseize, Confidant & Smother are so great in combination with dreadstill.

Yeah Black also offers you Extirpate and Plague, I'm currently working on a black list.

how good do u think this deck is vs alluren?
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
Dreadstill is actually quite good against Aluren, you have stifles and trickbind which are huge, also you out counter them. The best way to beat them is just keep aluren off the table and Drop Nought, they generally can't answer him since you can stifle Man-O' War
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
I am currently using the standard white list with 3 O-Rings over swords and running 2 gilded drakes over 1 trickbind and 1 daze, its been testing great against fish like decks, thresh and aggro has anyone else tried this? I'd like to hear some comments on the addition of gilded drake i'll post my decklist once i get home.
Creatures 9
2 Gilded Drakes
3 Trinket Mage
4 Phyrexian Dreadnoughts
Spells 33
3 Daze
3 Spell Snare
3 Counterbalance
2 Tops
4 FOW
4 Brainstorm
4 Stifle
3 Oblivion Ring
1 Trickbind
4 Standstill
Lands 19
5 Islands
1 Plains
3 Flooded Strands
3 Polluted Delta
4 Mishra's Factory
1 Academy Ruins
2 Tundras
I don't use wastelands since I find the 7 colorless to be too hefty in my metagame and the having the drakes mainboard are due to the lack of combo in my metagame

So what do you steal with the Drake? Goyf, enemy Dreadnought oder some Confidant's? Threads of Disloyalty should be way better, or even Control Magic.

3 Flooded Strand
3 Polluted Delta
1 Swamp
5 Island
2 Wasteland
4 Mishra's Factory
Creatures: [8]
4 Phyrexian Dreadnought
4 Dark Confidant
Spells: [32]
4 Stifle
2 Trickbind
4 Brainstorm
3 Counterbalance
3 Sensei's Divining Top
3 Spell Snare
4 Force of Will
4 Daze
3 Standstill
2 Smother
Sideboard:
3 Echoing Truth
3 Engineered Explosives
3 Tormod's Crypt
3 Extirpate
3 Thoughtseize
For plague Sb is no need, its a Thresh/loam/LS meta.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
Chaos I dont see how threads is better, granted you don't give your opponent a 3/3 flying creature but threads you can only control creatures under 2 casting cost and nothing else, not to mention threads costs one more U and krosan grip can nail it (which most people will sideboard in against dreadstill). The only time you would play drake is when you are trading up, not trading down for a creature and if you are in dire need of a beater you can always make the horrible play of stilfing or trickbinding your own drake to get a 3/3 flyer.
Quick question about the drake, if you O-ring your own drake and the O-ring gets destroyed when the drake comes back does it count as your creature? considering that you casted it or does it count as your opponents creature and whom would use its ability? (I'm thinking drake's original caster?)

All very popular cards that completly shut down Goyf and most of the threats out there that have good synergy with Counterbalance.
As much as I hate to agree with Clark Kant, the 'dissynergy' with counterbalance is such a minimal, almost nonexistant, concern that it doesn't really matter. Having a threat that doesn't get railed by Krosan Grip, and Counterbalance (which is an oversight that you are collectively making that amazes me), is something that the deck really needs, considering the amount of KGrip splash damage waiting in the sideboard of %50 of the metagame. Tombstalker fulfills that role nicely, as well as not fearing all but one piece of removal (Swords to Plowshares) and bringing incredigly useful elements from the sideboard. If the double black in the casting cost is the only argument you can muster, that's pretty frail.
Re: [DTW] Dreadstill - Enter the Fist
It still seems much stronger to run Goyf in that slot even though he gets hit by more hate then Tomb. He requires only 1G source, really good with CB, drops as early as T2, and is the best creature in magic. (This helps alot too.)
