Your sb is very similar to mine with the exception of dryad arbor and thoughtseize. I think it's a meta-call. If there aren't many t1 kill decks like belcher around, I think thoughtseize is better. I just wanted 2 traps as a way to interact t0. Instead of arbor, I left pridemage in the board. Just curious, what'd you remove from the main for pridemage? I'm guessing a quirion or birchlore ranger.Quote:

It's all good. This deck needs a bit of obscurity to do well since it's somewhat simple to hate out with the correct sideboard cards. In other news, I'm a little more than halfway done with my attempt at an updated primer. I guess I'm supposed to just post it here? Or do I PM it to a mod and they toss it on the first page? I have no idea how that works. If one of you wants to take a look and perhaps edit it, PM me and I can let you check it out on google docs when I'm done.
Wooo! Got First place tonight at our weekly legacy tournament. 13 people showed up so we had four rounds and I went 4-0. Didn't lose a single game so I ended up 8-0 for games. Luck was on my side, though.
Round 1 against Sneak Show he couldn't find anything to go with his Show and Tell.
Round 2 was against and he kept a sketch opening hand game 1 and I had 2 DRS out by turn 2. Game 2 My opening hand was Dryad militant, Bojuka bog, fetch, and a few other cards so I shut him down hard after after he threw some 20 cards in the GY. (The turn 4 RiP was pretty sick too).
Round 3 I played against a UW aggro-control suppression field deck. Game 1 was close because we just kept beating each other but he couldn't find any StP so I had lethal a turn faster. Game 2 I was able to combo out before he got anywhere.
Round 4 I played against maverick and comboed out pretty quickly both games.
Won $24 of store credit. So I either can play "free" the next 5 weeks, or buy some cards.

On another issue, I, too find myself in doubt of which are the "only right match ups" to sideboard Progenitus in, so that I don't end up oversideboarding and diluting the deck.
I think that I would not bring in Progenitus in your R1 match, and that I would, instead, try to race them (only counting with the extra help from Qasali + Abrupt Decays).
But then, couldn't Progenitus stop/lock the Hem-RIP combo? If this is so, I would end up losing this potential out...
Against Burn, I guess I would bring Progenitus in, too, to have a potential "safe" way of keeping a creature threat on the battlefield, so that I don't loose to any "Piroclasm effect". (Again, I don't know if it is the "right" way of playing this match up with this list.)
My mana base for crop rotation sb plan is similar to LSV's except -2 fetch (8), +1 horizon canopy, +1 forest. I'll typically side out 1 forest for karakas or bojuka bog. If I bring in both (reanimator), I'll side out horizon canopy as well.Quote:

I play 3 Cradle/1 Crop Rotation and the second crop rotation in the board. That configuration seems versitile, you can side out a Crop Rotation against counter heavy decks and still have a reasonable big chance of getting cradle, or increase your virtual "Cradle count" to 5 versus decks where you have to be a fast combo deck. If i board in Karakas/Bojuka Bog it is usually in place of a Forest/Karakas depending on if I bring in Pridemage/Teeg.
Going to play combo elves at SCG KC. I got 33rd at St Louis last time so hopefully I can do just as well. I'm going to try and do playtesting this week because I now have access to a second cradle and natural orders. Here is the decklist I'm going to play:

What're your guys thoughts?
MonoG Elves! finished 2nd at my LGS yesterday. It ran Natural Order into Craterhoof win though, which gave it CRAZY consistency. There were 4 rounds, and it went 3-1 (first 3 matches 2-0, then lost in finals vs ANT).
I was playing Rw Gobbos, and it beat me pretty easily.

I don't think the numbers are due to budget concerns (he owns 3 Cradles, one Urza foil), but just for the heck of it. He doesn't really care for his Elves! deck, the money he invests into MTG goes into his pimped out EDH, lol. :P
Well, apart from ANT that field is pretty free to Elves to be honest. Even more so when monogreen can scoff at mana disruption attempts.
