For everyone interested in Vroman's alternative art cards they can be bought at http://community.webshots.com/user/rovroman. I <3 his StPs
What makes you guys think I spent a bunch of money on it? If it gets hosed, I do the same thing I always do - sell the pimp stuff off to get new pimp stuff for another deck.
Oh, and it's not like duals, fetches, goyfs and brainstorms are going to lose their value...
Why are you quoting me? All I said I had was a foil Ghoul and 4 Illusionists, hence "you beat me in..." Anyways, just like Nightmare said, pimp cards keep value fairly well, and when the deck comes back because everyone assumes it's hated out, you're one step ahead of the game.
ooppps sorry, I meant to quote nightmares deck... didn't mean to quote you man, sorry. :)

This isn't asian foil goyfs, but they are sweet.
Psh, you need the foil signed crystallines to be truely pimp. I almost payed $280 for a set, but realized that I would rather have FBB duals, but once I finish my sets of those then Im gona pick up the crystallines fo sho. BTW, who the hell is Vroman? I mean he does tight work, no doubt about that, but is he just some random guy drawing on cards or am I seriously missing something? Also, will he make sets or stuff or are you actually buying the card that is pictured? Most of the cards pictured are in really shitty condition.
Kronicler
Vroman's Hero of Soviet Labor Goblin Welders are insane.
Roland Chang does Trinispheres extraordinarily well also.
Even Doug Linn's Bird Ape (which I'm not sure where it is) is classic. He turned it into a peacock!
Roland is doing a 3sphere for me right now. Can't wait to see it.
These are some of the best alterations I've ever seen. They're done by Ron Spencer though, so what would you expect?
I've heard there are some awesome artist altered FoWs... does anyone know where I can find some pictures?
On Terese Neilsen's website.
Spencer's alterations are amazing, but also pricey. I remember someone saying they put out upwards of $100-150 each on their altered cards from him, because the extra work and inking with real ink-paint pens requires a ton of precision and artistic ability. Dunno if everything he does is that expensive, but I do know the neighborhood of $50+ is expected and probably minimum.
I've done some random alterations myself using the same style that Vromman does (erasers + pens), because a buddy of mine got me into it. I have a set of Reverent Silence that I turned into 4 "anti-powerful enchantment" cards: one for Leyline of the Void (the person being blown to a mist of blood from the "ray" of the leyline), one for Fastbond (a mage that looks like Sauramon/Gandalf the White overlooking the burning Shire), one for Survival (a sniper scope locked in on the Mogg that's still standing), and one for Oath of Druids (the Oath tree and most of the forest is set on fire, and the druids are clamoring around it). If I can get scans of them, I'll get them up.
Eventually, I will be working on other cards, but for the most part it's just been cheap stuff from my Vintage Ichorid deck. So my proxies for Bazaars, Emerald Charms, Contagions (maybe), and a bunch of the other "blah" images are being converted over time.
Does anyone know the type of ink/paint Ron Spencer and Nielsen use to alter the art? I have a student who is an amazing artist and want to have him do some alterations for me, but I want them to look good and vibrant.
Here are the two diffret posters you can buy from Terese Nielsen's web site. use http://www.tnielsen.com/artists/niel...ame_prints.htm to view the larger versions of the posters

Wow - turns out that, in addition to doing amazing alterations, Terese Neilsen is fucking hot.
