You mean the list that 3-1'd over 8 months ago? Yeah it's an old list nothing new and hasn't done anything recently.

I don't know. I am 5-0 so far playing against burn, Omnitell, RUG delver, lands, and Miracles. The biggest thing I have noticed is that LED is nuts in the deck. People just aren't playing around it. If nothing else even for me to substitute the spellbombs for the magma jets, and fit in 1-2 salvagers and LEDS for other fast mana. You aren't sacrificing that much. I think the bomber plan is probably stronger than trying to win with Jaya and dorks against decks like 12 post and Omnitell game one.

Played in the premier iq today. Missed out on top 16 on breakers (mine were awful) but was pretty happy witha 7-2 performance. My 2 losses were to dig through ts aime decks and 6 of my 7 wins were against people without digs. Don't think it's coincidece
With most of the top 8 decks these days containing 2-3 digs the statement you make basically says "painter is not competitive in a dig meta". I am sure this is a bit hyperbole on my end but I want to highlight it.
Dig through time is the real deal. A resolved dig usually signals the turning point in the game. I even went as far last SCG I attended to play 3 RIP in the main; largely to hose sooo many cards like dig with the added bonus of beating omni. Unfortunately I picked up losses from things like elves death and taxes which lead me to step back from the RIP plan.

I'm still plugging away on the Eternal Weekend Top 16 report, folks.
Also, I really want to try Bosium Strip as a one of. I always max out on my Blasts, and I think it's worth a try.
Just a random but of input
For those playing black, try out a single Gamble to help find those instants and sorceries we spalshed for. Personally i have always liked the card and in your opening hand it is as good as a tutor. That was one thing i found necessary to the black splash, recruiter and enlightened find permanents but dont find the spells that help us win the tough match ups
Hello Guys, this is my first post on the forum, also this weekend was the first time that I played my Imperial Painter deck, after a year to build it from zero.
I went to my LGS legacy tournament and went 1-3, the winning was a last round bye.
As it was the first time, the result was totally expected. I'm playing with a white splash only, thinking about the black splash for the future. I can't remember my games in detail, but I lost to Death and Taxes, Omnitell and Jund. I felt that against Jund and Death and Taxes, I lost because I'm not 100% sure in how to pilot the deck, I have doubts about how to sideboard and also I made some mistakes that cost me the game (Learning the hard way that in legacy you don't have much room for errors, like in standard) I will post the list that I'm running and see if you guys can help me with some advice, I like the idea of Pia and Kiran Nalaar on the SB and Canonist in Main Deck, I really don't know when to side Fireblast and I have a lot of doubts on how to side.
This is my list:
3 City of Traitors
2 Plateau
3 Bloodstained Mire
4 Ancient Tomb
2 Wooded Foothills
4 Mountain
1 Great Furnace
4 Imperial Recruiter
4 Painter's Servant
1 Magus of the Moon
3 Simian Spirit Guide
3 Goblin Welder
1 Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
2 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Blood Moon
4 Grindstone
3 Sensei's Divining Top
2 Ensnaring Bridge
2 Enlightened Tutor
2 Lotus Petal
4 Pyroblast
2 Red Elemental Blast
Sideboard
1 Sword of Light and Shadow
1 Ensnaring Bridge
1 Ethersworn Canonist
1 Koth of the Hammer
1 Trinisphere
1 Thorn of Amethyst
1 Rest in Peace
3 Fireblast
1 Ratchet Bomb
1 Red Elemental Blast
2 Tormod's Crypt
1 Manic Vandal
Thanks for any kind of help!
Fireblast??? First things first, that has to go. Unless you are thinking of firebolt. I also would not play 2 revoker a. Add another blast instead. Hope you have read the first couple pages/primer. That should help a lot.

Looks like jacks list so I'm sure he meant firebolt

Jund is rough. Assuming you're copying jack's old list, the fireblast is meant to be firebolt which would have helped against D&T. I'm of the opinion now that we should be playing sudden shock though. I didn't get to board it in that much this weekend but when I did it was amazing. I cut revoker from my 75 this weekend and did not miss him. I boarded him out in most matchups anyway. I still don't care much for running canonist main but it's a concession to omni. The manic vandal in the board should be a duergar hedge mage
Hey thanks, I'm lookin forward to find a Hedge-mage, they are hard to come by on my country. Also, I felt that revoker was not usefull, I'm thinking about cutting it too. I belive I will face a Omnitell a lot on my LGS. Also the sideboard is open, so any help would you pretty usefull.
I was thinking about Magma Jet, but it seems that there is not a concensous around the card.
I'll second sudden shock. It nerfs jitte which has always been a problem for me and is good against infect as well as mentor and pyromancer decks

Played this deck for the first time since last year last night. Had a bye round one then beat Infect and Grixis Control. The deck felt strong although I need to play against Miracles and Omnitell before I take it to any more serious events.
1 Goblin Welder
1 Grim Lavamancer
4 Painter's Servant
1 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Imperial Recruiter
1 Magus of the Moon
1 Jaya Ballard, Task Mage
4 Simian Spirit Guide
1 Pia and Kiran Nalaar
4 Grindstone
4 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Blood Moon
4 Ensnaring Bridge
4 Pyroblast
2 Red Elemental Blast
4 Ancient Tomb
4 City of Traitors
6 Fetches
6 Mountain
Sideboard
2 Firebolt
2 Rolling Earthquake
2 Ratchet Bomb
3 Thorn of Amethyst
4 Trinisphere
2 Boil
In a field of 1/1 tokens, Ensnaring Bridge feels less good than it did vs. a bunch of Goyfs and Griselbrands. I will probably drop one Bridge maindeck and replace it with a Lotus Petal for increased explosiveness. It's debatable whether 20 lands is correct or should be reduced to 19. I'm not a fan of the white splash in this deck as it has always caused consistency issues for me. Pia and Kiran Nalaar are surprisingly strong a the top of the curve, providing blockers, removal, and a solid clock all in one card. The Firebolts in the board are definitely becoming Sudden Shocks, as both Infect and Monastery Mentor are common in my meta.
As for sudden shock vs magma jet, my feeling is that if you want to main deck burn then magma jet (or pyrite spellbomb!) is better because it's never dead. It works well to scry to cards you need. If you are siding in to burn as creature removal, then sudden shock is better. You know it will always get the job done, especially against mentor.
Right now I'm playing pyrite spellbomb for the bomberman alt. win con. Verdict isn't in yet.

In a world of omni, you should be running a couple canonists main. That'll piss in their cornflakes

Speaking of artifact/enchantment removal, I'm looking to add a second card to my SB to deal with these. I'm playing either Omnitell, Miracles, or Grixis Pyromancer deck 8/10 times now it seems like. The pyromancer deck is starting to run Null Rod which is pissing me off. So, keeping in mind that I am running Auriok Salvagers/L.E.D., which 2 of these 3 would people run:
1. Hedge-Mage - searchable with Recruiter, costs 3 and needs to meet stipulations. triggers immediately against Omnitell but they can respond with instants. One time use.
2. Seal of Cleansing -searchable with tutor, can put it into play and pop in response to first spell played by Omnitell, hope it's not Emrakul! One time use.
3. Dispeller's Capsule - searchable with tutor and reusable with welder and Salvagers. Another pop in response to played spell off Omnitell but costs mana. Gets shut off by Null Rod.
I actually really like seal and would probably lean toward Hedge-Mage as second, although recurrent nature of capsule would be good against decks like Miracles, Stoneforge decks, and enchantress. Any thoughts welcome.
