Went 4:0 at my locals today with a list pretty similar to those floating on the previous page. Devastation Tide is insanely nuts. :D The S+T was pretty mediocre, but probably this had something to do with my MUs, which were BUG Thresh (2:1), Esper (2:0), Dredge (2:1, game 1 he opened with Coliseum, LED, Breakthrough, Looting and Gravetroll, so I scooped without taking a turn) and Reanimator (2:1)
Is Daniel Hall anyone posting here, or if not, does anyone know what he list he played last SCG?

Legacy is not like any other format. It is. Allnost all based on the skill of the pilot and getting some soils match ups. Just because there is a 26 present Meta of rug, does not mean u are going to play vrs it. Round one was teps., its a gross match up. High tide was next. Got own game one. Game 2 he played a meditate and passed it back to me and I used the extra turn to cast a torn. Game 3 I ripped a chalice put it at one and then show and tell next turn and he was not able to get enough manna to go off.
I played budget patriot Blade, he had no duels. He was a chill kid. Had no idea what I was playing so I face rolled. He did drop a stony silence but I just played a dust
Douglas the Guy with the Tezz deck in tenth place.
He found out 12post poops on his deck
Rug kid who I faulted hard vrs and boarded wrong. Soo many things I did wrong game 3.
But game 2 I was very tight and won with 4 life.
Rdw was last the kid on the list above me. He got the nuts game one. And had too many pops. Both games. Rdw is very much win able. But most kids who play rdw suck. I used to play and face roll. Melding marurders is a bad card. I beat the deck When it runs a bad list. But I give rdw. Kid props he knows the deck.

I'm fairly certain that pithing needle on LED does nothing. Other than that, how was the trinket mage package? I can see that it gives you more versatility, but did it slow you down at times when you needed another land tutor (2U+3 rather than 3 or 1G to tutor for a land)?

10/4/2004: The ability is a mana ability, so it is activated and resolves as a mana ability, but it can only be activated at times when you can cast an Instant. Yes, this is a bit weird.
Looks like a mana ability to me.

The most annoying part of this game, is that has many many opposite rules. For example, the rulling about mana abilities :
112.4 - Some activated abilities and some triggered abilities are mana abilities. Mana abilities follow special rules: They don't use the stack, and, under certain circumstances, a player can activate mana abilities even if he or she doesn't have priority. See Rule 605, "Mana Abilities." [CompRules 2009/07/08]
So, by the time LED say "Activate this ability only any time you could cast an instant [Oracle 2009/07/08]" it means that LED uses the stack and priority. From this point of view, LED can be Stifled and Needled because it gives mana as an artifact, but this produced mana is not the result from a mana ability.
BUT!!!
There is a pervert rulling about LED that say "The ability is a mana ability, so it is played and resolves as a mana ability, but it can only be played at times when you can play an instant. [bethmo 1999/11/17]

My opinion about all this mess, is that the part of the sentence that says "it can only be played at times when you can play an instant" is obvious, useless, and makes people arguing each other. All the mana abilities can be playing as an instant, and as sorcery too ofcourse. So, why designers decide to write something like this in LED? Probably because they care about newbie players, and they want to point that "Yes, this ability can be played in opponent's turn too, so "idiots" we wrote down that can be played as an instant, just to make it clear to your empty mind, that you can use it any time you want."....

Although pervert the ruling serves a purpose. The purpose is to prevent players from using LED while casting a spell, e.g. play brainstorm, draw 3, discard your hand. As far as I know you can tap an island for U after you draw 3 with brainstorm, before putting 2 back.
ofcourse you may tap an island for U, but you cant use this mana until the Brainstorm spell is completely done. But we are way off topic...Quote:
