Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
All this baneslayer talk, im going to have to switch my mb tusk to one and give it a go since nissa was so good.
I would nevevever go below 4 rhinos, I use 4 very often and I win all those games.

As for card draw, I can understand the need for SDT, but don't know what to cut. I just mentioned how I'm open to the idea of trimming back some business in favor of draw/filter components.
@Baneslayer: looks meh on paper. Absolutely dominates in play. It's better than Rhino at times because it flies, has first strike (actually relevant), and lifeline (again, relevant). Of all things, I think I'd cut Pulse or Thragtusk from the MD to accommodate Angel #2 but I'm not 100% on this. 3 rhino 2 angel makes a lot of sense to me. How much better would I be with Thragtusk on top of that? Not sure. The mana also needs fixing if I go 2 baneslayer because double white is a thing.
@4C: I want Pfires and sometimes Huntmaster. The pro-white dragon, pyroblast, sudden demise, and ruination would be nice pickups for the SB. Junk is the better color for my meta due to Paths and Vindicate. Rhino was solid, but I'll be the first one to say he's not the reason I run Junk. He's VERY strong, but white removal spells are on another level.
Valid points.
Sounds familiar, the ongoing struggle to choose between junk and jund. But your reason is very much the same as mine. Path gives the reach we need now.
And you are def not the first to say Rhino is not the reason to play junk. But he is our Tarmogoyf.

Rhino might not be the reason to run Junk (which is correct, PtE should be the reason why) but that's still no reason not to run 4, lol.
Edit: I still have to test my planeswalker plan, but at the moment I'm also pondering on switching my flex slots for DRS #3, an Ulvenwald Tracker, a Qasali Pridemage and an Acidic Slime. GSZ'able removal seems like a nice plan.

Path is great and im loving the 2 I play mb but I honestly think the reason to play junk over jund is the sheer number of options from white over red is borderline infinite. Karakas, vindicate, path, sigarda, rhino, teeg, etc.
Rhino makes games winnable that weren't and closes games when you didn't have it locked up. He is the foot on your opponents throat. playing 3 seems wrong in an all too obvious way to me. Plenty of games I have top'd and saw gsz/rhino and felt like once I resolve this, I cant lose. Lands and rhino is a combo that wins very often.
PWs are great but I prefer them in the sideboard. too cute otherwise and your only truly want them in a few matchups. Garruk relentless is very good out of the side against slower non bolt decks. Albeit I play nissa mainboard, I don't consider her a pw, I think of her as a ramp spell that reads deal with me, m8.
2 drs has always felt like the right amount. Tracker seems both too cute and too fragile especially because we have enough removal to kill an entire vintage events creature base. Pridemage just isn't necessary. decay deals with all the problems and vindicate/deed clean up loose ends. Qasali superfluousmage. Slime is in the same line as the previous two. I never feel the need to gsz for 5 and not get tusk, sigarda or rhino. all 3 of those are better in 95% of situations.
So many times I have tried to make the list adorable and all that does is lose me win percentage. Stick to what wins and polish the sides so the rhino horns go in with little friction to your opponents innards.

I love it.
So now you are playing with nissa? How has she been to you so far? Is she really a goddess?
E: can we just put on the first page all these quotes?

She has only been on my stack twice. Once she received a fow to the dome and the second time she flipped to put a gsz in my hand that immediately turned into a rhino. She has been good but I wouldn't give her yah at title. At least not yet.
You can quote me. I see it as a compliment.
2mans:
2-1 ant/empty
G1 empty for 14 t2 off my mll to 5 and do nothing. no deed in sight
g2/3 i land lock pieces and he conceded. free pp for me

Every day I burst out laughing at these quotes. How is this not on p.1 in the primer?
@4Rhino: I played it and it's nice. It's more about space. This deck could easily 100 card goodstuff.dec....I HIGHLY recommend you try Baneslayer. I'm all about going 2 Baneslayer that's how dope she's been.

I hope you all we enjoying it. I'm pouring my heart out. Haha
I will try cutting a tusk main for a baneslayer but on your advice alone. We need you warden, your our only hope.

Yeah, that Tracker is a bit of a gamble. I find the idea of GSZ'able creature removal (of sorts) very tempting. Unfortunately even I find GSZ -> Empath to Visara the Dreadful or Avatar of Woe to be a little bit over the top. Oh well, maybe we'll get it someday. A partially green Vindicate-on-a-stick with CMC 2 & toughness > 3.

That might be a little deep. Albeit something like that exists. its 7 cmc RG from RTR block.

Nothing seems too deep in this thread for a rhino's horn

I really fail to see why Baneslayer is so "hype" vs Dragonlord Dromoka; both are very similar...
1) Baneslayer is 5 CMC vs 6 CMC for Dromoka
2) Baneslayer requires WW
2) Dromoka is GSZable.
3) Dromoka is legendary (fears Karakas)
4) Both die to STP or Terminus (but only during oppo's turn for Dromoka)
5) Dromoka survives double bolt or 1 dismember
6) Dromoka can block any 6/6+ creature (save activated abilities to finish it)
7) Dromoka cannot block Baleful Strix & Grislebrand
8) Dromoka cannot be countered and opponent is forced to play at sorcery speed.
Do I miss something very relevant or what ?
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Has anyone had any luck with the bug pod version of the deck? Been trying it on mtgo, seems quite powerful though not sure if blue or white would make a better tertiary color, as blue is super helpful against combo, but white allows for generally better pod and nightmare targets.

Karakas and 5 cmc vs 6 cmc are the selling points for me. I tried Dromoka and was karakas'd into oblivion.

My main issue with BSA is that lifelink is not really the best strategy in legacy, and we have plenty of means to gain life. Lifelink aside, Sigarda n2 or dromoka seem better options because they are green..right?
E: yes karakas is the reason I have not played dromoka anymore. Sigarda n2 seems still better though

I prefer tuskerino. He is super solid against all decks.

He is probably better against miracles, while BSA shines against shard less..I will try the Angel in the sb for the grindy mus
Re: [Primer/Deck] Nic Fit
Well I guess if the karakas thing is really an issue. DLK can easily be sided out when facing D&T.
But as we play a karakas ourselves, I found out that DLK protected by Karakas is game breaker against any miracle list not playing a karakas.
Sigarda is still very good as well but she can be countered.
Anyway a resolved DLK is usually game vs tempo (grixis & RUG).

Well any resolved 4-5 drop is game against them..our horn-friends gain us 3-5 life respectively instantly
And karakas is often played by miracles, which in no way is a rare mu these days
