The current frames are definitely better. Most of these exist with two versions, with the mana cost on the left, and mana cost on the right. There're some Legacy staples that exist as test prints in this strain, although these aren't legal for play. Most people have seen some of the green/red stuff that leaked onto ebay, but there's quite a bit more.

Some notable T1 cards in my collection. Picked up that Alpha Ruby a few weeks ago and that Beta Lotus a few months ago. Going to hold onto the singed UNL one for sentimental reasons. Not sure if I'll get rid of the UNL Ruby either since it was my first piece of power. I paid $100 cash for it over 10 years ago.
The Fastbond, Wheel, Mana Vault, Pearl, and Ruby are Alpha. That Mana Vault is pack fresh and I wonder if I should even play it.
When Mark Tedin was in town for the Besieged Pre-Release I had some cards signed but opted not to get the Drains and some other expensive stuff signed. Note that in order to get him to sign at the bottom of the card you have to ask specifically. Otherwise he signs in the middle of the card which looks horrible in my opinion. I hate when artists sign in the middle. Garfield does that too. I have a bunch of Tedin cards signed on the bottom which sort of makes them unique in that respect.

Exactly. Plus, I don't have to pump mana into it, especially in Thopters (where I want mana to drop bombs).
It is a bit awkward in matchups where you also want to bring in Blasts, but since they're Alpha, they avoid Korean Chill, if I recall the pimp-stack correctly. Same as Beta duals dodge Anthologies/4th Ed. Strip Mines in Vintage.

I already finished my playset of Korean Brainstorm last year :P 2 are NM-/NM, 2 are like EX- :( Maybe if I feel like it I'll upgrade the other two some day. But I usually end up having my own cards becoming NM-/EX after personal play since I don't double sleeve and I non-pile-shuffle my cards sometimes.
Not sure if I should get rid of my Korean City of Traitors. They seem to fetch a pretty high price these days but are not as heavily played as they used to be when Meandeck MUD was a popular deck.
I still can't justify forking out the $$ for Korean Pyroblasts O.o.
