You just confirm my point. Decay on CotV is waste of time when they just destroy us with TKS and Smasher.

Yeah, this deck is scary. Maybe small pox could do something, but i guess it falls on the BB costa (aka hymn to tourach) teritorry.

Smallpox would hurt us to much aswell. Plus we don't have to support to power out Smallpox within our strategy, namely Wasteland. Deed is kinda slow. Toxic Deluxe is a bit suicidal as stated. Decay misses targets and Path, while being the better card, gets hit by Chalice1. The miser Pulse/Vindicate are decent, but require 3 mana and may show up rather late.
We do have game against Eldrazi, but they are super fast and bigger then us.
I agree. Smallpox is not the answer. Real world people have time to adjust but its already rampant online.
I am not sure how to approach this quite yet and I fear with the hype behind it, everyone is gonna jam it in legacy as well as modern.
Im gonna switch decks for now. Currently testing RG lands, but Ub OmniShow is on my radar to.
I have been in depate between Maverick, BUG Delver and Rhino's Abbondanza. But, i think going combo is better. RG lands attacks their weakspot (manabase) and kills them in 1 shot.
SnT mainly ignores them with a free hardcasted bigger Eldrazi; taste of their own medicine.
Jund is better aginst Miracles and small creture decks. The reason is Puniching Fire. It can kill all x/2 and can be return to the hand. Sure, deed, toxic and ad can kill them as well but you don't always draw them.
To win agisnt Miracles you have to grind them out, punching fire does a good job aginst that. Most nic-fit plays one or two removel that can kill Jace, the worst card against nic-fit. P. Fire takes care of Jace too. Also can kill all the creture the Miracles plays(vanser, clique, mentor). The only way they can win is to have two mana spell on the top and CC out so you force the oppent to always have two on top. Huntmaster and Brodmate makes two bodies as well, so they have to use terminus to best 1-1 us. Jund can also run Liliana of the Veil without big problem, powerful card towards combo and Miracle.
I think Junk is better aginst bigger cretures and a little better towards ANT. Junk has path and stp that take care of any creture. Jund don't have that. Junk has also early hate cards towards combo. They can stop the combo but can't seal the deal like slughter games.
Before we go a little too chicken little with Eldrazi in legacy (in modern yea that format is busted for a bit) who has actually played against that deck and what were you on? I highly doubt eldrazi is some unstoppable monster.
Abzan nic fit. 4 separate matches. 1-3 (3-6 games) My match win was 2-0 and I had a great draw g1 and he was mana screwed game 2. the other 3 matches felt unwinnable. they come out to hard and too fast. cotv =1 catches a lot of our early stuff and thot-knot takes whatever is relevant and then smasher smashes you dk in the door, repeatedly. rhino is just not enough in this matchup and once they go hellbent, eye gets more action.
So glad others are facing this deck. It was insane to deal with this past weekend (and he didn't run/show me Chalice either).
Mediocre hands -> TKS -> Smasher alone was enough to ruin me. He ran a black variant for the 3/2 that can -3/-3 things as well.
I literally have no idea how to interact with that deck. Toxic isn't the answer for reasons Ricardio mentions. If smasher hits the field (and it's a 5 drop they easily make) you basically die.
*Now what I'm thinking is that we could try going back to edicts and innocent bloods. Liliana is also very strong against them (if they run chalice, she's a 3cc + discard machine + edict machine). You'd have to muscle her out early and definitely run multiple copies. She ain't lasting long against them but can do damage.
This is definitely an issue in going to have to innovate on. Good luck everyone.
Cmon guys, the Eldrazi matchup was alright shite before this happened, let's be real. They go bigger than we do, and that's hard to beat since we can't aggro them out.
I'm okay with losing to this deck for now since it represents almost no amount of the metagame, right now.
Recall Ensnaring Bridge is a real card.

I wouldn't rely too much on that, depending on the version. World Breaker becomes more popular, and Conduit of Ruin can tutor for it, aside from Eye shenanigans.
I agree with matt though. anyFit runs black, which means that in the worst case scenario we can always dump 4 Damnation in our decks, together with 4 Toxic Deluge and 4 Pernicious Deed. Or fucking Sorceress Queens and Royal Assassins. Jund has access to Terminate (which might replace Abrupt Decay when we finally figure out AD has too few targets that good creature removal can't handle). BUG Fit can run 4 Baleful Strix. Yeah, trample sucks, but that's what you get for playing blue.
Or we switch over to Pod builds, to start doing Boneshredder shenanigans. Board in Moat. Or Crop Rotation into Kor Haven or Maze of Ith. Be creative.
Heck, if that deck pisses me of I'd be capable of running Fierce Empath into Pit Spawn. Or just Glissa, the Traitor. If she can block it, she can kill it (and live to tell the tale). Wall of Nets might also be hilarious. I'll make it work.
That deck tries to kill with creatures, we run the colours best suited to deal with creatures. Both in singles and in droves.
Besides, if that deck ends up thinning the amount of Miracles and ANT/TES played I'd welcome it as a good thing. We'll adapt. Whatever is big enough to kill them is probably also big enough to kill anyDelver.
Seems like some good ideas, Echelon. Especially Glissa [not Nissa] seems easy to get into play and dominating the board against them, for a low cost. And she's pretty good with Strix, btw.
I've been liking the idea of Back to Basics in BUG fit/Reanimator Fit since it should be good vs some bad matchups (lands, cloudpost) and pretty good to land vs other decks such as Storm, Grixis Delver (deed @2 is enough hopefully) [edit: infect]. It seems very relevant vs turbo eldrazi too, drop it early and land Thragtusk/Liliana/Strix to deal with whatever creature they managed to play. May or may not work out. It doesn't play too well with deed but I think it may be worth playing both in that matchup.
In my junk build I'm trying Mentor, which they may have trouble stopping. Equipment seems pretty good, Jitte for boosting blockers.
Edit: if the deck becomes popular it may be time to start exploiting Shriekmaw + Meren.

He will be in top8.
Thanks Bobman for your input.
I've had some success against Eldrazi Stompy too with the slightly higher density of removal, which doesn't hurt anyway. Eldrazi Stompy can get some insane opening draw, CotV into TKS into Smasher is usually gg, but it's not as often as you'd think, and dealing with each threat as it appears usually exhausts them. Deed is really good.
Here's the culmination:
1 Courser of Kruphix
1 Deathrite Shaman
1 Dryad Arbor
1 Eternal Witness
1 Gaddock Teeg
1 Meren of Clan Nel Toth

1 Painful Truths
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Green Sun's Zenith
2 Sensei's Divining Top
2 Bayou

I'm unsure as to whether I should play Nissa Vastwood Seer or not. I may just play her as the 61st card.
