Fun to say the least. Best couple of games I've had in a long time :D
And yeah. Those Sulfur Elementals! I ordered myself a couple of foils yesterday so that I can try them out :) Seems totally insane!

Congratulations on your top 8 (and your brother as well) and thank you for coming to the Belgian Legacy Cup! We hope you had an enjoyable tournament.
I particulary like the fact that you shared you decklist, since now I don't have to type it out myself to publish them on our website - I'll admit I've seen better handwriting and I don't know what a bunch of these French cardnames even mean . So thanks!
Enjoy the holidays, and hopefully until next year for the 2016 BLC Series and/or BoM/GP/....
Take care,
Tom
PS: Your English is just fine!
Hi Cyanhur, congrats on your top 8!
Just a little disappointed in your description of the match as I was your round5 opponent, and we actually played a 1-1 draw after going to time. I asked for your standings, and as you were 3-1 and I was 2-0-2 (and out of contention for top8 with an additional draw), I decided to drop and offered you the win.
Anyways. Glad to see you made it to the final 8 players afterwards!
Ok, so I am pretty excited about this stupid card from Origins:

Thanks to Black_Diamond for the suggestion.

1 [MBS] Phyrexian Revoker
// Spells
4 [TE] Grindstone
4 [IA] Pyroblast
4 [CH] Blood Moon
2 [SH] Ensnaring Bridge
2 [ARE] Enlightened Tutor
2 [B] Red Elemental Blast
3 [TE] Lotus Petal
3 [CHK] Sensei's Divining Top
1 [ORI] Ghirapur AEther Grid
3 [SOM] Mox Opal
It's obviously an artifact heavy list. I wanted to try a list with Mox Opals after seeing the Grixis list do well at the last SCG Open. BTW, I tried a similar grixis list online for a while and HATED it. It can have some explosive draws and fun tricks with welder. But it seems like a huge glass cannon and if your opponent can deal with your welders it just crumbles. Most of the games I won were after bringing in Blood Moons from the board.
Anyway, I did like the addition of the Opals, as it just seemed to strengthen the mana and definitely made me less apt to lose to mana screw or one or two wastelands. Then the grid came along and that has shored up several match-ups extremely well. In 10-12 matches, I've probably burned out 4-5 deathrites, a few stoneforges, and just WRECKED elves and Death & Taxes. Also destroyed infect with the card the one time I played it. I actually had opponents setting their pithing needles to the grid instead of grindstone! I was playing 2 magma jet in the main (still like the card a lot) and took them out for one grid and one revoker main. Still not sure about the revoker main, but I wanted it to be an artifact to keep the count high. It could be an e.explosives or 3rd bridge as well. Just wish grid was an actual artifact!
Going back and forth with some SB options right now. But with 6 mana sources that can produce ANY color, I am finally able to try out a Keranos against Miracles and other control/combo MUs.
Anyway, just wanted to throw the idea out there. Let me know what you guys think.
Nice brewing drude, this is one of the more interesting developments in the last year or two really.
Will have to give it a shot.

Sounds intresting.
I side eyed Ghirapur Aether Grid earlier this year when it was released, but at the time we werne't running enough artifacts for it to be consistant.
Mox Opal is also intresting. I tried to play 2 Mox Diamonds earlier this year... but that didn't work out so well because even at 21 lands it was too few. I think having a souce of multicolored mana that you can reuse seems like a really good idea too.
Rando Thought: If you are going to play the Grid might you not want either Hangarback Walker or the Parents as a one of tutor target? Is that win more?
Hangarback walker is one of those cards that strikes me as pretty good in general, but maybe just not good enough for legacy... but maybe it is?
Edit: Or if you want something that's is a little less good but works better with Goblin Welder... myr sire.
are you not scared of null rod with all those great furnaces?
Thought on Hangarback Walker, I've also been thinking a lot about it. The main reason I always look away is because of Plows, Terminus or even Stifle shut its effect for a cheap price, and we'll have to spend a lot of mana or turns just to give them a tempo-swing deluxe. Miracles is the one match we want extra finisher the most, after all. If it just were weldable!
Anyways, Opals and Grid.. maybe it's just crazy enough to work.
Well aware, but I was talking about Hangarback Walker :)
I don't have high opinions on Grid/Opal yet, it looks sweet, but might be vurnerable. Have to test it out ~
Yeah, null rod is always an issue. Interestingly, it doesn't shut off the grid and you can still tap the artifacts to use the grid. It does obviously shut off the furnaces, but this deck was never getting very far with an active null rod anyway. You still have to deal with it either way.
I've never tried hangerback walker and I see the synergy. But as mentioned above, swords is a card in legacy and the walker seems so mana intensive for it to get blown out by a 1cc removal spell.
And just to be clear, it's not like I'm giving up on the painter/grindstone combo for the win; but the grid has proven very useful in removing pesky creatures or as an alt win con paired with some 2 power dorks for the swing. I've also been trying one copy of LED recently and it's hit or miss. Some games it is amazing and some games it's my only source of colored mana and I'm looking at it wishing it was a mox or petal.
The biggest surprise I've noticed with the grid so far is how scary my opponent thinks it is. I had the thing double FoW'd by a miracles player yesterday. Very strange.

So was he :) . Walker losses much of his interest once you figure out that he's not weldable and you don't get tokens if he get's Terminus'ed or Plowed. I tried it out a few weeks ago and immediately dropped him again. It's just not worth the effort.
If you have Hangarback in the graveyard; switching him with an artifact in play through Welder's ability puts a 0/0 artifact into play that dies and produces no thopters. There's no synergy past being able to sacrifice him if he's on the battlefield and you need the thopters token.
Ok, I thought welding it out, which works just fine.
Top 8'ed a 60 man today with Imperial Painter (R/w).
