SEVEN mana? no thanks, better ugin or karn. If they resolve, it's game 80%. If Nissa resolves.....good luck finding a creature in a deck with 4-5 creatures in total....
from origins the only card I like is the archive (in blue deck).

What are peoples thoughts on trinket mage in this deck? I know a few people run them for utility. But is it too slow or just not powerful enough?
In the more Lands-ish build, I would never run less than 3x. And I've been very happy with 4. Aside from doubling your defensive capabilities with Maze, it provides a major hedge against Wasteland because you can get by with fewer Posts out, especially with multiples. For example, 2x Candles + 2x Cloudpost = Ugin.

So I am on a mono green list without GSZ (tried them, didn't like them) but with 4 x Primeval Titan. I'm trying to decide between 2 x Eureka main vs 2 extra ramp cards (eg. Exploration, Map, etc). Right now I am playing 2 x Exploration, 2 x map and 2 x Eureka. I like the Eureka against fast MUs but obviously it is very dependent on how many bombs I have in my hand. Obviously ramp spells would make the deck more consistent but potentially slower.
Does anyone else have a lot of experience with Eureka? It seems like mono-green's version of Show and Tell that also puts Ugin into play.
Dudes,
I know this is not the place to be asking this, but i will. you can delete this post if i overstepped the boundaries of this thread.
Since many of you own authentic candelabras i want to check with you if the one i just received is genuine. What bothers me with this card is that it seems to be somewhat discolored. This is visible around the edges where the black edge is somewhat smudgy and more white than your average mtg card (the black border isn't as black as it should be?). sadly i don't have any other antiquities cards to compare it with...
Do your candelabras look like this? is this card in your respected opinions genuine?

Many thanks.
IMHO, it's real. dot pattern is perfect. Text is on another layer, it's print after the other colours. Time makes the black border a little discolored. Look at this one, on abugames:

If your card would be fake, you'll see by other details (pattern, back, text). Indeed, on fake cards the borders are VERY black, 'cause they are fresh of printing XD.
Look at this image:

You can easily detect the fake and the real.
Real card, wrong thread. Same with budget issues too, dudes. I don't want to be a dad, but let's keep this discussion focused on finding the optimal way to attack the legacy meta game by tapping cloudposts and hard-casting Emrakul.

Thanks man. That's reassuring as hell. i guess i'll have to confirm the transfer and pay that dude the 300 i own for the candle  I was already thinking of doing the bend test, but khm i really don't want to do it
This dude also sold me the 4 tropical islands and they look/feel authentic compared to other revised cards, so i really don't have any other reason to doubt the authenticity of the candle. It's just that i don't know how the cards from this set look/feel like as i did not possess any until now
P.s. who does this kind of crap "art" work on cards? Who the hell would buy this? i don't like altered cards in general, but this sad candle got screwed over bad...
Tim Dude I agree completely. sorry for the static i was just paranoid and u guys seem to have most of the candelabras and know your s***. i will shut up for a while since i got my cards now and will try to conjure some kind of deck out of these...
Personally, I would always go with the Expedition Maps over the other options. The ability to consistently and efficiently find specific toolbox lands is, IMO, where the real power of the deck is centered. The ability to drop insane bombs is just a logical consequence of cheap land tutoring as a solid foundation.

I absolutely love it-as long as it isn't competing for slots with powerful offensive cards, like show and tell or candle. It is easy to dilute the deck, or any deck, with a toolbox. In this meta I play 2, with a nice 1cmc package, and FOW main. I burn counters early, and find the effective hate artifact- which trinket serves as copies to 3x. This opens the board up for more, dedicated Omni hate, which I have a winning record against since incorporating the Grip+Glen Plan, but that is another topic. Mage is the BEST answer to pyromancer, being the ideal blocker and a tutor for EE. In addition, it blows the candelabra lines wide open. The consequence: cutting repeal. Which is lackluster against Clique, Pyromancer, Mentor, Angler .... Combo, MUD, mirror, elves...
Recently I've played this to many weekly high/win finishes. And top 16 at DHG Dual Tourney:
4 Cloudpost
4 Glimmerpost
2 Vesuva
1 Island
1 Forest
3 Tropical Island
1 Scalding Tarn
4 Misty Rainforest
1 Bajouka Bog
1 Cavern of Souls
1 Karakas
1 Eye of Ugin
1 Glacial Chasm
2 Trinket Mage
4 Primeval Titan
1 Kozilek, Butcher of Truth
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
4 Brainstorm
3 Crop Rotation
2 Spell Pierce
4 Force of Will
4 Sensei's Divining Top
1 Expedition Map
2 Candelabra of Townos
1 Pithing Needle
1 Engineered Explosives
2 Ponder
3 Show and Tell
SB
2 Glen-Elendra Archmage
4 Flusterstorm
4 Krosan Grip
1 Chalice of the Void
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Pithing Needle
1 Blue Elemental Blast
1 The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
My question for this thread is: Has anyone found a useful trinket target for Omni?
Yes, I have 1 in the sideboard listed there. I like it a lot too. Most often its against storm, and I cast trinket T3 and stick chalice on zero (likely after casting a counterspell early). This takes care of their 8 artifacts and then I can usually lock down the game with life gain, counters, offense, glen. With two trinkets it's like playing 12 counterspells, 5 bogs and 3 chalice - so it's a lot of hate. I also will side it in against RUG, Elves and reanimator. But other than that, there isn't much use because of high CMC 1 in UG post. MD chalice is more of a "Chalice Deck", way different design.
Dear Dudes,
All my orders came in and i now have almost everything to get this thing rolling. I'm still missing S&T and FOW and am trying to build the UG without them. I figured since i'm missing S&T why not just run exploration/explore instead to try and accelerate a bit? However it feels kind of weird playing a blue deck without counters…
In the maybe board i've listed cards that i've seen mentioned throughout this forum and i have them in stock.
I’ll be honest with you guys, I don’t really know what I’m trying to achieve here. I have a lot to learn about the format and matchups, so any tips for my initial build would be much appreciated. I mean the deck is practically unbeatable in my local kitchen meta, regardless of the configuration i run. Despite this I would like to build towards a deck that could be played competitively….
so what are my best options here?

I've been a bit dissatisfied with Explore in my mono-G build; I just exchanged them for Explorations and started testing that version. Situations where I had an extra land to play but not 1G to spare or where I had 1G available but no extra land occurred too frequently. Also Exploration allows for T2 Trinisphere where Explore does not, improving the combo matchup. Exploration might be even better for you than for me because Brainstorm and Repeal mean you draw more cards, so that you are more likely to have 2 lands in hand in a single turn to make use of the enchantment later in the game.
So consider switching the numbers on Explore and Exploration. At the moment my plan is to side out Explorations in matchups where speed is not critical; you might side them out in favor of some kind of board wipe which I see you don't have in the main. Since you and I both lack explosive SnT -> Titan -> Eldrazi lines we can't always plan to just ignore the board and hope Emrakul is enough. I've come to favor 2 Ugin and 1 Oblivion Stone main with 1 Stone/All is Dust in the sideboard, but they're all mostly interchangeable.
Omega thanks for the tip. I'll be testing with exploration and MB board sweapers and have dropped the explore from the list.
