Turn 3 natural order is the norm...I have 7 mana elves, I think I can cut a priest for many reasons.
1. My build isn't about bum rushing out as many guys as possible just to cartwheel into fallout or some other sweeper.
2. My build is already pretty heavy on 2 drops, with 4 survival, 3 vanquisher, zealot, priests... The slot is clogged, and it's also the most hated out slot, with snare, explosives and chalice often preying on 2 drops.
3. A better late game is essential for LOL elf survival. And there is simply no argument that topdecking a priest will 9 times out of 10 be the gay sauce.
Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever cut the 4th perfect. Like by never I mean under no circumstances do you go below 4 perfects unless you go below 4 lords. And if you ever do that, its time to jump off something really tall onto something really sharp. Perfect is THE best lord, because if you manage to get one down and the opponent cant answer him, he can give you so much advantage. It is the only card in the deck that can win the game reasonably well on its own. NEVER CUT PERFECT!!!!!
If you want the 4th Archdruid, I'd personally cut the 3rd Champion before the 3rd Priest. Champion is so weak compared to the others, and having early acceleration is huge. Although I don't know the rest of your list, so it's hard for me to comment on what the best slot to remove is. 10 lords is fine though given how many other bombs the deck has.
I posted my list about a page back. I'm trying for an 11 lord list, not sure if its worth it, but i just hate drawing priests lte in the game so much that I wanna try it out.
ive tested the list I posted a few pages back -1 archdruid +1 forest and its been great, it runs 11 lords and the sideboard is very optimal.
I can't believe you guys don't like messenger...How do you combe off?
Are you referring to Di/My's list or others Mirror Entity lists?
Lists without messenger or entity. How do you keep playing guys? Not a criticism at all, I just have a major hard on for that card. IT WINS GAMES.
I basically just drop bombs until they represent no counterspells and then play natural order or most people cant handle 900 champions on top of survival and whatever I board in. Its kinda rare that I am in top deck mode, Its usually in someones favor quite a bit at that point.
I just love having him, cause I can run out of cards top deck him, and rape my opponent in the ass with a cement dildo.
Thats another reason I like messenger. Also, sweepers are relatively easy to play around. If you know your matchups well enough, you can play your first few threats, or just gain too much advantage off a survival for a sweeper to make much difference.
I like the messenger too. He provides a lot of card advantage and you need creaturecards to discard for Survival.
i have cut the entity combo from my build cause you donīt need it at all. Just go for Priest/archdruid for mana then messenger for more creatures and symbiote/quirion to go on.
my list looks like this now:
Lands:
4 Wooded Foothills
3 Windswept Heath
4 Taiga
7 Forest
4 Survival of the Fittest
3 Natural Order
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Sylvan Messenger
2 Quirion Ranger
2 Wirewood Symbiote
3 Priest of Titania
3 Elvish Archdruid
4 Imperious Perfect
2 Elvish Champion
3 Wren's Run Vanquisher
1 Viridian Zealot
1 Anger
1 Squee
1 Progenitus
SB:
3 Choke
3 Krosan Grip
1 Natural Order
4 Thorn of Amethyst
3 Pithing Needle
1 Slot free
I played yesterday against Burn and lost due to Pyroclasm.
Without Survival it is far to slow to combat Burn.
Any suggestions??
What about a decklist not so elf oriented and with some good creatures?
I'm testing a deck without lords and with 4 Tarmogoyf and some 1-2 ofs like Masticore, Deranged Hermit, Kitchen Finks and Flametongue Kavu and its working so good for me.
Yeah, sure. You could also add Burning Wish and play a straight RGBSA list.
Elf Survival minus Elves = Survival. And Survival has its own thread.
[EDIT] By no means I intended to be a dick, but it seems you're a bit off-topic here...
Taking Out the synergic aggro engine from this deck for silver bullet (excluding Goyf obv.) makes you waaaaaaaaaay more dependant of Survival than this deck already is.
Elf survival minus lords <> elf survival minus elves. I play a lot of elves in my list.
I'm saying that maybe is a good call try to quit lords for not auto lose against cards like Engineered plague.
Edit: I mean not depend so much in elfs and have better topdeck cards. If opponent clean the table, is better to draw tarmogoyf or Masticore than lets say... elvish archdruid.
Wouldn't the reason to play lords be resilence against Engineered Plague? If those elves would stay alive against Pyroclasm and alike I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be a real need for lords in the first place..
If all that you're using the elves for is for mana acceleration you're better off without Priest/Messenger as well and just stick to Quirion Ranger with BoP's or Noble Hierarch, makes it easier for you to splash colors too.
The best Elf answer is probably Wellwisher. It's going to eat a burn spell if you play it turn 2, but if you draw Survival you should definitely win, since hasted Wellwishers hose them. It's not a perfect strategy, but I'd probably board 3 Wellwishers if I expected alot of burn.
