There is not much Standard talk here because it's mainly a Legacy forum.

New Bolas is not confirmed yet. I think he's weaker than previous Bolas walkers in terms of loyalty counters and abilities. And the casting cost is very color specific.
The static ability is just jank most of the time, you can't really build on it. It does nothing when no other walkers are present, except that opponent will think twice what walkers to cast against him.
The +1 sounds good, the -3 is costly and the Ultimate is far away and does nothing when opponent controls a legendary/walker.

Dovin seems good for a uncommon walker, but I guess it isn't more than a delay.

Maybe. But the problem with those decks is the percentage of times they run out of gas on the combo turn. With an effective storm count so low, this will not suffer that issue much. Of course you now essentially have a 2–card combo where other storm decks do not. It’s just different.

i think it's great for ruby storm.

cast ral, pass turn.

following turn: -2, cast bonus round (get a copy) deal 2 damage.

cast lightning bolt. (get 3 copies), deal 16 damage. (if you have any other spell you're way ahead.)

seems pretty great! obviously you don't really need bolt, as casting some ritual effect is already really sick.

-2, cast seething song, get 10 red mana and deal 2 damage is a great way to start off the turn.
-2, cast manamorphose, get 4 mana + 2 cards and 2 damage.

his other ability +2, is great vs the slower control decks too.

i'm not sure if he's 100% good enough for the deck, but he merits testing.

I've been brewing with liquimetal coating for years. Ancient Grudge is a trap card, avoid it. It's modal cards like Abrade and Kolaghan's Command that are worth looking at because they are hardly ever dead without liquimetal coating. Gorilla Shaman also still exists if you want to go even deeper into liquimetal coating but i wouldnt recommend.

Do you think Liquid Metal plus Dack and Karn has potential? PWs are sort of like the modal cards you described.

Dack Fayden sort of lures you into playing with Ancient Grudge because Punishing Fire works so nicely with it, and then you're already running Grove of the Burnwillows so you might as well throw in Grudge. I advise against that. I think Kolaghan's Command is one of the best cards for midrange decks in legacy and Abrade is decent as well.

That means you can splash blue, white or green. Green gives you Abrupt Decay and Grudge. Blue gives you Grixies colors and Dack, but Dack is really not that great without Liquimetal Coating. Stealing an artifact is nice, but destroying one is usually just as good and without liquimetal coating it does nothing but loot for 3 mana (Faithless Looting is more efficient there). Planeswalkers do get trolled by Spell Pierce and Daze a lot so you don't want too many of them.

I'd probably keep it RB and go for high pressure cards, and keep the black splash light. If you soft lock your opponent you need to capitalize on the momentum, especially if you are going to play with Ancient Tombs or you'll be pushed to burn range too often. Your deck needs to operate on a tier 1 level when you draw 0 liquimetal coatings.

Yeah I'm thinking of black splash for command and maybe like plague or something in the board. Massacre too possibly. Idk I'll make a real list tomorrow or the day after. Welder and looting maybe good if no chalice, but I'm not sure that's correct. Honestly just being a painter deck a piece of each half of the combo in the board to with for might be decent

Am I reading this right? Don’t the copies of Grapeshot each trigger Ral? Is “copy” the same as “put a copy on the stack”?

My read is that "copy it for each time" would create that many ral triggers.
Effectively, this triples your storm counts. If you cast grape shot twice at storm 3 you'd deal
3+3+3 and 4+4 which is 20.

In a world of wasteland and Karakas...and Flickerwisp for that matter. Looks pretty fragile to me.

Sure Karakas and Rishadan Port totally make this suck. Overall for 5 mana in Legacy you summon a Batterskull which is more relevant in a green (then creatures heavy) lists.

Maybe it would work in Modern, but it's a five mana green instant. Even in Nic Fit, I'm not sure why this would be Legacy playable.
