Am I missing something, or did these Merfolk decks never get matched up vs the combo? Turn 1 Cursecatcher is a fucking pain in the ass.
If two ANT pilots had to play 11 consecutive rounds against Merfolk, I'd fully expect ANT to be no worse than a combined 18-4. Merfolk* is a bad joke for someone who isn't braindead.

So how relevant are these results based on the metagame at Worlds relative to our tournaments? Definitely not as many entrants for Legacy as the GP would expect or even a local shop for that matter.

This landstilllist has a positive merfolk match-up. You might notice the 2WW I-win-button called Moat in the mainboard. Tom should have won the semifinals against Merfolk as well. If you read the coverage, you will find some mistakes that cost him the game. Being a pro-player, you are allowed to suck at legacy, obviously. He lets his 4 wincons be countered, while he has more hardcounters then Merfolk. The biggest blackout-moment was double cursecatcher on a too greedy hardcast decree of justice. (why 2 angels where 1 was good enough..)
And, what that guy said about this T4 being representive for what really happened..
