I bet wizards prints a new Thalia variant instead. There's not a Thalia with Flash yet, seems like that's a candidate. Or maybe a Thalia with a Chalice effect strapped to her. Or maybe a UW flying hexproof Thalia with Cursecatcher's ability tacked on........

Chrome Mox doesn't facilitate turn one hands.

Cabal Ritual actually doesn't work there. However, in Final Fortune's list that would've been a land or Duress.
I've been jamming games all day on cockatrice, Cabal Ritual and PIF are still performing well.

Against any deck with Chalice or Thalia, yes. Even against blue decks it's fine.

luckily for me, this scenario will not happen in my build.

Is the Reverent Silence better than a fourteenth land (to help grind against Miracles)?

What are you talking? The format absolutely needs a 2/1 creature for W which reads "counter each noncreature spell with 1cc" simply because the format needs more hate for 1cc spells beyond Chalice & Countertop. WotC loves D&T anyways given they print a combo-hatebear in every set #salt

The difference between 13 and 14 lands is so marginal, likely somewhere around 1.33% or you can have a card that gets you out of binds against a Counterbalance game one or an unexpected Leyline of Sanctity.
I'm not attached to Reverent Silence, but it's something I've been trying the last month to some decent success.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Though you don't require the help, it fucking destroys Land's mana acceleration plan.
-
Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
I've been trying out the following sideboard plan against Miracles and it seems decent. Am I nuts?
Code:
-4 Infernal Tutor
-3 Burning Wish
-2 Chrome Mox
-1 Empty the Warrens
+3 Xantid Swarm
+1 Dark Petition
+1 Tendrils of Agony
+1 Past in Flames
+4 Abrupt Decay

If you go the ANT direction, leave at least the ITs in to loop

First turn kill through Daze and Force of Will!
Sequence:
Them: Fetch, Underground Sea and Deathrite Shaman.
Us: Gitaxian Probe.
Them: Daze. (Which I think is actually fine, he wanted to hide the Force of Will in his hand)
Us: Gitaxian Probe. (See Force of Will)
Us: Fetch, Underground Sea and Cabal Therapy (Force of Will)
Us: Lotus Petal, Dark Ritual, Dark Ritual, Lion's Eye Diamond, Infernal Tutor and Tendrils of Agony.
-
Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
I see a big error on this line.
The underground sea is not an alpha one.
merry Christorm!
-
Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
The problem with Alpha cards is that I can read them.
-
Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Bryant Cook, the best part is that it sort of looks like your opponent's apoplectically clenching his fist in the photo.

You as well. Feast.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
The brisket at Feast was nuts. Much, much better than what you usually get.

I had the brisket – It was just okay. I think you just need to try some better BBQ.
-
Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
I live in Canada, and really great barbecue is not readily available this far north, unfortunately. Our Mexican food is also brutally bad.

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Given how popular Leovold was at Louisville how much do we need to worry about him? As a 3 drop he comes down later than other problem creatures though can be accelerated out by DRS.
Leo screws with our discard and probes and even if killed on site draws a card.
Because both Tendrils and Grapeshot copies target they get to dig really deep for an answer if we haven't dealt with Leo before going off.
And this is all ignoring how he hates on cantrips.

Its not too different from the Meddling Mages people ran in Shardless a year back. You have to be prepared to discard or destroy these hatebears

Absolutly nothing... even if he had flash i would be equally worried - well maybe in this case a litle...
EDIT: you can probe youself i imagine...
Apart, stprmers in general what do you think about ghirapur?
at least it will be a new toy... for sure i will try 4 the next torunament...

Re: [Deck] T.E.S. - The EPIC Storm
Leovold on the battlefield + 2 Mindbreak Traps in the library is no joke versus Tendrils.

the funny thing ofleovold is that:
- is too slow as before you will duress the opp.
- once in play - ideally with no FoW because have been discarded does not avoid A.N. I mean the hell ypu can combo perfectly with him in play.
- once A.N. has been resolved, well you can - just for that scenario you propose - tenrils him and grapehot him twice - as a example among many others examples

It needs to connect unlike Xantid and you can only use it once. Its a very bad version of Xantid if you try to protect your combo

I think you're grossly underestimating the card, you know these Leovold decks are also playing Thoughtseize, Daze, Force of Will etc? You're not always going to be able to play out the games as you describe.
