Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
I lost to that list at a GP side event. I bounced the Teeg and the guy had 2 Surgical Extractions in response to me casting PIF(G3). He also tried to resolve a Green Sun Zenith in game 1 with his Teeg on the battlefield - I was playing it out to see more of his list.

I usualy play 1 hurkil and 1 echoing. But hurkil is a 10€ card on Mtgo that I dont want to pay for. So I use the budget second echoing ^^
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
How do you board with that SB, Rodrigo? Against e.g. Miracles or Delver?
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
Delver depending.
Ubx delver usualy is a mix of
-1 preordain -1 top -1 cabal ritual -1 empty -1 nauseam
+1 top +2-3 decay
Miracles is
-2 cabal ritual -2 infernal -2 led -1 preordain -1 empty -1 nauseam
+4 decay +2 grip +1 top +2 tendrills

Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
There ususaly I do something like:
-3 therapy
-1 top
-1 preordain
+3 decay
+2 echoing
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
Got yet another 4-0 in our Tuesday Legacy 4-rounder, which put me to 12-0 in the last three tournaments there.
Still on Sloshstorm with 2 Pif, 2 Toa, 1 Etw, 1 Grim, 6 discard, 1 Top, SB: AdN
Sideboard was
3 Abrupt Decay
1 Krosan Grip
2 Xantid Swarm
2 Flusterstorm
1 Extirpate
1 Chain of Vapor
1 Echoing Truth
2 Pyroclasm
1 Bayou
1 Ad Nauseam
Very satisfied with this one, I boarded everything in during that tournament except the Grip; no Miracles or MUD.
Round 1 Dredge
I put him on Jund or some kind of UWx deck because that's what I saw him playing last time I think. He is on the play and takes 2 mulligans but gets there one turn faster than my storm. I didn't know that it would be my only game lost today. In the second game, I disrupt him a bit with discard spells and feel lucky because he doesn't dredge a Dread Return for his Iona, although I had the Extirpate in hand. I search for some Rituals and eventually find one and then a LED with a topdeck Probe, which takes us to game 3. He starts with 5 cards, I keep a mediocre hand but with Flusterstorm and again the one Extirpate. I discard his Breakthrough on turn 2, Fluster his Study on turn 3, Extirpate his two Dredge5 Imps on turn 4 and win on turn 5 with a PiF loop involving Grim Tutor and some Toa already in hand.
Round 2 Team America
Again, my good friend Matteo with his favourite Delverpile. In game 1, I get there easily on turn 2 after seeing his hand and discarding his only counterspell. Game 2 is intersting because at the crucial turn (I am at six, he has lethal Goyfs in play) I don't have a discard spell for his Fow, pitch, FoW, pitch, Surgical but a manage to think of a decent line that rips his hand apart with Ritual > forced, another Ritual > 3rd LED > PiF > sac 1 LED > discard two Infernals > he surgicals them in response > counters PiF > replay Pif and have two Ponders and one Gp to find something; first Ponder reveals Tendrils.
Round 3 Elves
I know he has Gaddock main and I think he played it even before Julian23 made it popular. (Berlin meta was very hostile, a lot dudes on storm, now it changed but still... one never knows) Well, I'm not a Elves expert but I know that I need to discard (Thoughseize) on turn two after my mulligan (LED scry, stays on top), fetch go. He reveals the Gaddock, I take it obviously and pass the turn. I play Ponder on my next one, seeing the kill on top but need two cards. I proceed to discard his mb Crop Rotation and go for the Pif loop next turn. The next game is a complete destruction for him because I let him play his GSZ after taking a glimpse with Duress in order to wipe the board with Pyroclasm. He plays two Elves and searches for Gaddock, who meet Pyroclasm the next turn. Apparently, he draws a Nettle Sentinel and I struggle to find the kill, copying two Rituals with two Infernals and going for the combo on turn 6+. The plan was to resolve Cabal Ritual with threshold against his Crop Rotation. He doesn't react to Cabal Ritual and I chained another 3 Dark Rituals, playing the third Infernal copying Tendrils and playing both Drils for 12 and 14.
Round 4 Grixis Delver
His only interaction is FoW and a fast beatdown with Delver and two Bolts but I get there with a Pif loop. I bring in 2 Xantids because I feel that he will board a lot of stuff that works with the stack (Surgical, more counterspells) and have it in my starting hand alongside the SB Bayou. He plays 3 GPs and Ponder on turn 1 desperately searching for an answer for the Xantid I guess. I play it, it resolves and his only interaction is Deathrite Shaman in the course of the game. At one point he is at 10 life; I attack, Xantid trigger resolves, I play BS into Infernal, play LED, play Clasm, play Ritual, Infernal for Toa and the win.
No Ad Nauseam used today, no Goblins made but a lot of lethal Tendrils were played; as usual.
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
Congrats man!
I've seen that almost nobody here is playing Caleb's list with 6 tutor effects (4 IF and 2 DP), what do you guys think? Is it just better running 2 PiF and 2 Tendrils? I had some problems with all these Deathrite Shaman in play having Pif/Tendrils in hand discarding them with LED...don't know, maybe it's just me
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
I've been playing the 2 Petition list lately and I think it's a reasonable choice. It's infinitely simpler to play, which can be relevant if you tend to tire in long tournaments. It's slightly better against nonblue and slightly worse against blue (notable here is the fact that I consider both Miracles and Shardless nonblue decks, although Miracles only before sideboarding).
If your opponent has exactly one piece of countermagic (plus maybe a Daze), then both setups (2 Petition vs. 2 Past) have pretty much the same speed, consistently killing on turn three. If they have more than that, the 2 Petition list is worse - setups with multiple Past in Flames and Storm spells are much better at beating countermagic.
It depends on what you expect to face more. Don't go by what the more prominent Storm players do. All of us who have been playing the deck for longer times (like 2+ years) are very stubborn when it comes to our lists and slow to adapt. The issue is that Storm is very complex and it can be hard to trust someone else's results when you have done so much work and they come to completely different conclusions.
Example: When Dig Through Time was legal, Pascal and I thought the OmniShow matchup was our worst matchup ever, most everyone else thought it was pretty good. The first issue was that Pascal and I mostly saw the UB version with a couple maindeck discard spells, whereas others played against mono blue. We were also underprepared and once I played a bit more and made up my mind about the sideboard, playing Xantid Swarms and/or Flusterstorms, I experienced a drastic increase in win percentage, to the point where I had a very good record in the matchup.
TL;DR: Just pick a list and play it. Most choices are fine and the differences are not only slight, but even out across the board.

I wish there was an export function for replays in MODO for sharing, you could search it up by number or something... incomming 2022 I guess...

hard to say, maybe just don't write about it... 1DP seems to be a frequent choice, I'd say 2Toa/2Pif is still rare... I can only agree with Jona
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
I can stream replays but Idk why ppl dont like that usualy...

I don't mind it, I like interesting/thought provoking content, form doesn't matter, but I'd really appreciate a feature where you could just link a game and let people walk through/review it on their own, like there is in Poker or Chess... just a game export -> online app, so simple...:frown:
Re: [DTB] ANT (Ad Nauseam Tendrils) Storm Combo
Thanks Jonathan for the answer! I'll do as you suggest!

I played the six-tutor build almost exclusively until the Eldrazi menace showed up. Now I'm on five tutors, 1 Empty, 1 PiF, 1 AdN, 1 Tendrils with a second Petition in my sideboard to replace Empty in matchups like Goblins, Elves, etc.
I'm pretty new to the deck generally, but I don't feel comfortable running fewer than five tutors. Jonathan Alexander is right that six-tutor is simpler to play than the other builds, and I'd add to that by saying that it's also more flexible in most matchups. Also, you've got fewer chances of drawing into multiple copies of your business cards, so there aren't as many awkward hands and you don't rely so much on Brainstorm-fetch plays. This is nice because you can start fetching out lands more quickly, thinning the deck and improving your draws.
It's also correct that you run a greater risk of dying to countermagic on 2x Petition than you would on 2x PiF. PiF is great against countermagic because they'll often not be able to deal with a second combo attempt the turn after we go for it. I think running Petition instead of a second PiF is a reasonable tradeoff because you stop drawing into multiple PiFs and you have better methods for finding other cards you'd want (a tutor for LED or Cabal Ritual can net you mana). You get fewer awkward hands and fewer bad topdecks, but keep in mind that it makes AdN a bit more dangerous and hands with 2x Petition are pretty yucky.
I'm not too happy about Empty in the maindeck because it's really awkward to draw if you've already got some business in your hand, so I might go back to the 2x Petition in the mainboard. Empty has served pretty well, though, because Eldrazi has a big problem dealing with fourteen goblins on turn 2, or even turn 3.
