Fair enough. It's been a long time since anyone tried to Null Rod or Winter Orb me - if that's something you're running into that makes a lot of sense.
Re: [Deck] Miracle Control
Yes, but you see my approach is kind of next level. At first glance it seems simply inferior to your plan. Not bringing RIP and siding out Clique seems bad. But when taking into consideration that the opponent boards well my approach suddenly makes sense. Not playing the powerful spells turns into him having dead cards and forcing him into a very certain playstyle, which I am prepared for. My plan won't be Hymned into Oblivion, nor will I be locked out by Pithing Needle or tempo-ed out by Golgari Charm. I can just advise you to trying this boarding plan, alongside my list - just in order that you get the feeling what this all is about.
EDIT: I built neither the list nor the plans depending on what I ran into, it was built for the most open meta ever, a GP.
Greetings

This is one of the reasons it is so messy. Notice that what happened does not fall into any of the criteria for drawing extra cards that you posted. He drew exactly as many cards as he was supposed to. He just didn't put the correct number back.

And this is not the thread about accusing people of cheating. Or defending them. Or defining cheating. I don't care.

+3 Flusterstorm ( you can also split Fluster/REB depending on whether you expect Nemesis or not)
This way you blank their RIP/Balance-Hate while having enough ressources to fight over Hymn or their Counters on our Jace/Angel. It has worked out very well in testing and I went undefeated in both matches and games at the GP.

if you're referring to your own list, I don't see why you would stay at 2 EtA for SB games. Yes, SBing out CB against BUG is actually not uncommon, someone else mentioned it before, might not be from the source.

There is the valid option of getting the third Entreat instead of the third Flusterstorm, but based on my testing/experience two have been enough.

Congratz to your finish Einherjer! Your sb plan is really intriguing. Instead of bringing permanent based hate which falls prey to Abrupt Decay eventually you try to solve things rather on the stack with the positive "side-effect" of fighting discard directly plus blanking more of the opponents cards as well. However EE is dearly needed for anything that slips through. Also Disenchant seems an improvement to me as I struggled with Wear//Tear's mana costs every now and then even in the version with a basic mountain.

The text I posted was from the actual IPG, I think the line:
Quote:
Additionally, it is Drawing Extra Cards if a player has excess cards in their hand that he or she cannot account for.
serves as a catchall. At any rate, it'd be nice to see Miracles with a GP title.

Calm down, birthday boy. Maxime, who just posted a page back, potentially being given the GP trophy is a bit relevant. It was just a few comments, not an entire page de-railing the thread.

Agree here. It may be distantly related to miracles, but it is interesting, topical, and some of us clearly care about the issue. Plus, it's not as if 50% of the posts on this website aren't worthless in the first place.

Due to recent results, wouldn't it be appropriate to put "Miracle" back to the DTB section of the Forum?

Interesting plan for these threats but - when do you EVER see Null Rod or Winter Orb? These cards are simply not played by any deck in Legacy. Maybe one or two decks try Null Rod as tutor target but surely no-one has cast a Winter Orb in a competitive game of Magic in 10+ years. :)
Re: [Deck] Miracle Control
This GP-Weekend only:
Round 4: Elves: 2 Null Rods in play, not too sure if he has more.
Round 15: BUG: 1 Winter Orb in play, more in his deck.
Greetings.

I would expect the tempo decks, especially BUG Delver, to start packing these if they expect control decks like us to be present.
Re: [Deck] Miracle Control
Winter Orb also plays nice in Aether Vial decks.

i remembered when you disenchanted a BUG's null rod maybe in round 11 or so (thought it was an italian or spanish guy)
Re: [Deck] Miracle Control
I took a list similar to the ones from the GP to a local dual land tourney with slightly under 40 people today. Won my first four matches then intentionally drew the next two, then won the top eight, walking out with an Underground Sea.
Matchups:
R1: ANT (2-0)
R2: Rug (2-1)
R3/4 (unsure of the order)
Aggro Loam (2-1)
Sneak and Show (2-1)
ID'd the next two.
Quarters: Same Aggro Loam as swiss (2-0)
Semis: Same Sneak and Show (2-0)
Finals: Reanimator (2-1)
My game three against Rug was a nail-biter. I was Waste-locked with a Goyf attacking me with just a Top and Island and I found three lands to Verdict the Goyf a turn before I died then establish CBTop, Jace, then Batterskull. Game three against Reanimator was very interesting, also. The deck ran smoothly and I loved the 2 Snapcaster and 2 Ponder setup. I was happy with the list, but didn't cast some of the sideboard cards such as Pyroclasm and Disenchant which I wasn't running previously.

Does anyone think this thread needs a new primer? The original post is so out of date that it predates the Miracle mechanic and hasn't been edited to reflect this.
