Yes, it is called enchantress.dec . Seriously, our matchup against control is fine. Sometimes they've just got it but that happens in all matchups. The point is that we have more spells that they have to counter than they have counterspells.
If we are talking about delver/tempo decks, it is slightly different. Play around stifle on fetches and dont run your important spells into daze. This takes some practice but the matchup is not bad.
Also, the card you are looking for when they are countering all your enchantresses is Mirri's Guile. (Assuming you are playing >4 fetches. Otherwise you're looking for supression field.)

I actually can't watch your stream. too late for me ;) I watch the replays on YT.
I liked the idea of the carpets but the guils are also too important for me. On paper I play 3 guiles and carpets SB.
but online is so much blue control that I like the additional mana. have to try it over and over again.

anyway I need to figure it out how to play vs control proper. I do too many mistakes by not being patient.
you tried the shusher or is just a personal opinion?
eidolon is my card vs storm and elves but in my opinion a bit too slow because both decks are already finishing everything turn 2.
I even lost some games because I limited myself too much.

As I said before maybe I was just upset :)
I run 3 suppression fields.
I love the guile card and I play 4 fetches plus 3 GSZ for shuffling my bib.
I tried to play 3 guile, then 1 guile + 2 carpets.
Not sure abt my next step.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Any thoughts on this new preview card? http://twitter.com/misterorange/stat...509120/photo/1. Is it worse than Word of War and Words of Wisdom or does the fact that you don't have to to replace the draw actually mean something?
My intuition is that it's worse than Words of War because I fall for this same excitement every preview season but I can't help myself.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
It's nice, but worse than any Words of... card since it doesn't replace the draw. You could still end up decking yourself (I know, very small percentage, but still...).
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Presumably you can stack the sac trigger of a Solitary Confinement and the return trigger from this so that you can sac the Confinement and then return it in the same upkeep, avoiding having to discard a card?
Seems pretty good ^^

no, you have to target when both of the triggers would go on the stack, so you'd need a confinement already in the yard, so you still wouldn't get to draw. still an interesting card

Ah okay. As you say, still an interesting card. Could allow you to let go a Solitary lock if you run out of cards and then get it back the next turn? Or nice if you've had Enchantress' Presence countered, or to return expended Elephant Grasses.

it also allows you to draw cards with Eidolon of Blossoms if your running it. Seems like a lot of work though

You can loop more Solitary Confinements without discarding if you have one in the graveyard, which makes it a near hard-lock.

I really really wish that this card was good, and I think chopping off a bit of the CMC and keeping only the first line of text I'd probably test it but I can't imagine running a card which opens us up to such a huge blowout from Terminus, a card we can normally handle. So let's we put this in the sideboard, what matchups do you want a 5 cmc grindy card like this? Against midrange BGx decks like Shardless and Jund? Are there really not better, more flexible options for those matchups?
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
I agree with simdude. also without a grove in play the lock peices become vulnerable to creature spot removal.

I think this could see fringe play in Legacy, but likely not in Enchantress where for this effect Opalescence is often better. If that effect is desired at all. As others have pointed out this is a boon to the Leyline deck, but not a solid lock for it as a result of the 5 Enchantment clause.
This has potential to fuel a new Archetype. I have a brew that I have been tinkering with for a few months that revolves around the Opalescence // Parallax Wave combo (which is very powerful) and this could be another key to that puzzle. Initial builds that featured the combo used the Enchantress shell, but the combo functioned better in a Kruphix's Insight, Attunement, Commune with the Gods, Replenish Shell. This card has a built in Replenish lite effect, so i'm intrigued.
I'm a fan of the card, but somewhat skeptical of Legacy play-ability. I think you could build a deck for this in Modern If not add it to the Enduring Ideal Deck. Come on Parallax Wave Reprint.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Hi. I've never played Enchantress competitively but since I have pretty much the whole deck in binders I decided to build it.
I took this list to a 5-1 (1st place) finish
Artifact:
2 Chrome Mox
1 Helm of Obedience
Creature:
4 Argothian Enchantress
1 Dryad Arbor
1 Eidolon of Blossoms
1 Emrakul, The Aeons Thorn
Enchantment:
2 Abundant Growth
2 Elephant Grass
4 Enchantress's Presence
3 Mirri's Guile
2 Moat
1 Rest in Peace
1 Sigil of the Empty Throne
3 Solitary Confinement
2 Sterling Grove
3 Utopia Sprawl
3 Wild Growth
Land:
7 Forest
1 Snow-Covered Forest
1 Plains
1 Karakas
1 Savannah
4 Windswept Heath
1 Wooded Foothills
4 Serra's Sanctum
Sorcery:
4 Green Sun's Zenith
Sideboard:
2 Eidolon of Rhetoric
1 Banishing Light
2 Karmic Justice
3 Leyline of Sanctity
1 Nevermore
2 Rest in Peace
2 Replenish
1 Reclamation Sage
R1: RUG Delver
G1: He blind flips a Delver T2 and fortunately my T2 enchantress gets online. A elephant grass slows his beats and I manage to mount a nice confinement which he can't kill g1. I make a bunch of angels and beat him down.
G2: He drops a goose and I try to go T1 RIP which gets FoW. He drops Tarmo, and I play enchantress which plays nicely through daze. I play a Mirri's guile which gets dazed but it's ok because I already a cool engine going. He keeps beating me, FoWs my Moat, but Solitary Confinement manages to stick. By the time he finds his Krosan Grip I'm already have a developed board, and Eidolon of Blossoms sits pretty as he probably took all his removal after G1
R2: Maverick
g1: I drop an enchantress T1 thanks to Chrome Mox, , he has T2 Thalia and I have sterling grove. He lands teeg and a bigass Knight of Reliquary, I get a little constricted on Mana due thalia, but I manage to get my Karakas, bounce Teeg, and then land a Moat who stops any attack. His knight wastelands my karakas and he drops teeg, but I sit pretty behind the Moat and eventually I manage to get to Emrakul
g2: He thoughtseizes my argothian enchantress, I play some ramp T1 and thalia comes down. I keep trying to ramp as i can, and eventually manage to get an enchantress drawing cards. He beats me down to 4, and I manage to land the confinement. He zeniths for Qasali who breaks it, I'm forced to trade my enchantress to a Knight, but next turn I land a second confinement without draw engine. He can't do anything, and next turn i play enchantress. next turn i calculate the mana and i ditch my confinement to play a Moat, but by the time he gets another qasali I already have Replenish
R3: BUG Food Chain
G1: he comboe's my ass T3
G2: I assemble a quick eidolon of Rhetoric and I manage to assemble a quick Emrakul
G3: He has a cantrip heavy hand, He kills my enchantress through golgari charm, I play sterling grove and sac it to get Eidolon of Rhetoric, which gets fowed. He topdecks Food Chain but he doesn't have enough mana to play the griffin from Exile, so he has to pass. I jam Nevermore into play naming griffin, and from there a second Eidolon of Rhetoric which buys enough time to get an Emrakul Kill.
R4: BUG Feat. Mentor
G1: He makes a huge pile of Monk tokens and beats me down to a pretty low number, but I manage to assemble a solitary confinement. Turns out DRS doesn't give a shit about my hexproof and it drains my last points of life.
G2: He mulls to 4 and manage to get a developed board with my two Moats which makes the Mentors look very silly.
G3: He thoughtseizes me getting my enchantress T1, I play forest and Guile, which cantrips next turn into enchantress. I become a little paranoid of Shaman so I put Nevermore naming it, at the cost of taking a huge swarm of Monk tokens. He has one card in hand which could kill me if it triggers all the prowess triggers, but i decide to gamble, and play sterling grove, which sticks. He attacks with a huge pile of tokens, I declare no blocks and luckily monks don't trigger. I'm at 2, but in EOT crack my sterling grove for a big meaty Moat. Eventually I manage to land a RIP so Shaman is still useless if he decays my Nevermore, and eventually I manage to get a bunch of angels which fly all the way through the Monks.
R5: Burn
G1: I get a quick enchantress into Solitary Confinement and he concedes
G2: Once again, a solitary confinement seals the deal, although I have to be careful playing around an Eidolon of the great revel... until I realize the Confinement should be preventing the Eidolon Damage :D
R6: Spanish Inquisition
G1: He goes off T1
G2: I jam my Leyline from my initial hand, but he makes a bunch of goblins T1 which kill me before I can assemble my confinement :(
Overall the deck felt really nice except sometimes I drew a ton of land on a row. ANy suggestions, help and tips would be appreciated.
The Moats, and the Eidolon of Blossoms overperformed nicely. It was cool to GSZ into a card that would actually draw you stuff. Chrome Moxen were nice too
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
firstly congrats on the finish :)
Perhaps I've been away for awhile, but may I ask why the 3-2 split between wild growth and abundant growth? last I played this deck wild growth was a 4 of and abundant growth didn't see the light of day.
Could you talk about your sideboarding decisions in detail for each matchup you faced?
What would your plan have been had you faced:
1) Miracles
2) Omnitell
3) Grixis Pyromancer
How would you change the deck going forward?
Once again great job showing em that enchantress is still alive and kicking.

Hi. To be honest with you this is my first time playing the deck, I mean, I played it a couple of times but never seriously. I tuned my SB according to my Meta, but probably Grixis Pyromancer shouldn't be difficult at all. G1 it's impossible for them to deal with your enchantments, which means that once you get the confinement lock the game ends. A Moat puts them in Delver or bust situation, and Grass makes the Pyromancer tokens look pretty useless. I'd board more RIPs and maybe the Leylines.
Against Miracles I'd probably board out the Moats and the Grasses, put the Nevermore, the Replenishes, and if you are really thinking you are going to face a lot of Miracles, City of Solitude.
Omnitell: Eidolon of Rhetoric, Nevermore, Reclamation Sage, Banishing Light. (this could be a very shitty MU though)
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
I'm totally with Freggle on Starfield. It's probably the only card from Origins I'm kind of excited about and looking forward to breaking.
I think it has potential in Non-RiP Enchantress and would require it's own build, perhaps playing Replenish and self mill as an engine. Adding Eidolon here makes sense too, and maybe an actual way to attack once you dump your yard into play--like an enchantment that gives it all haste.
Re: [Deck] Solitaire (Enchantress)
Another potential card from Origins:
http://cdn.magicspoiler.com/wp-conte...f-the-Gods.jpg
Code:
Equipped creature gets +1/+1 for each enchantment you control.
Equip 1
Could be an interesting low cost win condition to make the enchantress a huge hexproof beater
