[Deck] 12 Post

The most obvious difference between canonist and 3sphere is that canonist has legs. So does gaddock teeg. So, both of these can swing for damage every turn while not allowing them to combo off. That way it's harder for them to ad nauseum when they finally do deal with canonist. It also doesn't slow you down at all, where 3sphere sometimes can. G/W also can (and should) play leyline, which is quite good against storm and also pretty strong against burn and discard decks. And I must say, I don't think the matchup against super aggro strategies such as RUG delver or elves is very good without good removal. flipping terminus off a top when elves is alpha striking you feels pretty good.
Again, everyone can have their opinions. Just be careful when you throw out some blanket comment like "G/W is just bad".

This is definitely intriguing and warrants testing, although I don't think it will be good enough. As a tutor target, the state where you really want this is when you're in topdeck mode but don't have the mana yet to activate Eye of Ugin (which is otherwise usually the ideal target in topdeck mode). So basically, you want this card in a situation where you're pretty far behind, but I don't know if this is enough to catch you up.

Another difference is the number of sideboard slots they require. C/g usually needs to dedicate a substantial number of slots to 3Sphere and/or Sphere of Resistance (I use 5x slots between them). The advantage of GW's toolbox approach is that it only needs 1x copy of Canonist, Teeg, RIP, etc, because it can access them easily with its tutors. This frees up a lot of space and, therefore, a lot of flexibility.

Seems pretty lackluster to me, in my opinion. Mirrorpool seems like more of an option than this, and I'm not even sure if I want that.

Hello, i am not in particular a Eldrazi player, but for some time i have been walking around with the idea of a RG version supporting Punishing Fire. I am not sure how far anyway has explored this option, so please if this following list is total crap then don't shoot it down right away. With some interesting cards being spoiled in the Oath expansion i took a shot a RG list that also supports the instant Pyroclasm variant Kozilek's Return and the beefy creature World Breaker. So maybe this could lead somewhere and i was hoping for your help and experience. List:


4 Cloudpost
4 Glimmerpost
2 Vesuva
4 Grove of the Burnwillows
2 Taiga
1 Forest
2 Wooded Foothills
1 Eye of Ugin
1 Karakas
1 Maze of ith
1 Bojuka Bog
1 Glacial Chasm / Cavern of Souls
1 Sea Gate Ruins / Fire-lit Thicket: Fire-lit Ticket could potentially fix mana for multiple PFires or casting a Primeval Titan.

4 Ancient Stirrings
4 Crop Rotation / Sylvan Scrying: Here i am wordering if i want to sacrifice lands, but i guess that fetching a silver bullet at instant speed is more important.

You are going to want the Crop Rotation over the Sylvan Scrying. Also you may want to consider Bonfire of the Damned.

Crop Rotation into Chasm is basically your last line of defense. It's especially good vs Infect, since life is a secondary concern.

There's also a neat trick you can do with Thespian's Stage. If you copy Chasm in response to the upkeep trigger, you get a fresh Chasm without sacrificing another land (as with Vesuva).

Yeah, I've never been a fan of that card. I don't like making opponent's crappy spot removal good and I don't like showing my opponent the top of my library all the time. The new G/R 4/4 guy coming out might be okay, although it costs red.

Doesn't Dryad Arbor also make your opponent's crappy spot removal good?

Would you consider Courser of Kruphix at all?
