How much + how long does it usually take for him to do alters?:tongue:
Might want some Unglued lands altered haha.
@ween
Thanks for teaching me ^^, will try to upload some stuff I have.
He did a bunch for me and my buddy. 25$ each alter, he is always on the altered thread.
Unfortunately they're artist proofs, but owning 20% of the supply seems fine as well :P
-Matt
@ matt
Those artist proofs are sweeet haha
@dernestor
Thanks for the sale man, big purchase and cards came in perfect condition ^^.
@jamie
thanks for letting me know, will try to contact him directly, might wanna lter my unglued lands to something cool :p, but 25$ a piece, 10 of each land. @@ Mathssss. Hope I can stir up a deal.
Hey everyone, I'm on the lookout for some miscut Elvish Spirit guides (who knows how many of them actually exist). Any idea where to look, or what miscut collectors to talk to?
I only have one so far (posted earlier so I won't re-imagetag it, http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...6-04005622.jpg ), and my other three are Portugese and just not cutting it next to the miscut one.
For a second I thought those were all real tabernacles and I was just thinking "Why?" Still super nice to own 20% of the artist proofs for tabernacle though. And that volcanic island in the picture is just terribly out of place in my opinion but I digress nice tabernacles.
The Volcanic was also an artist proof. The question when buying cards is not "Why?" but instead, "Why not?"
Here's some new stuff from Japan, from nedleeds (thanks again), and from Russia:

Nedleeds no like Merfolk

How much did you pay for that Gilded Drake, if I may ask?
If you're wondering if that was the Ebay one, it wasn't, but I got it for the same price, $40.
-Matt
Oh, no. I always use MagicCardMarket, but I was wondering what they go for. I bought a Korean NM Gilded Drake for 20 euro's, so I wanted to know if that was a reasonable deal. Guess it was. Got a Korean Desertion with it for 5 euro's extra
Who likes to have fun? Not my opponents.

Nice stuff Koby.
Unfortunately I have not enjoyed playing shops in quite sometime, although it is arguably the most dominant deck in the format. I hate seeing my set of Workshops sit in my binder, but i do like interactive games.
good luck on finishing that deck
tonight I traded
2 gaea's cradles (english)
2 foil COK tops
1 tawnos's coffin
1 foil Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker
1 foil Troll Ascetic (mirrodin - fold damaged)
1 foil Sword of the Paruns
for
1 foil japanese top NM
That is quite a good trade you got there :P
It's good, but I still think it's fair.
more foily stuff:wink:

all nm foil except the sword is exc-
What is fair on this trade? U basically traded your crap vs an uberstaple. U know that jap foil top is a 400$ card, no!?
I say well done. I dont even wanna know the other guys face when he recognizes how stupid he was
more like 300
and im pretty sure he got it relatively cheap
but im defo happy haha
Greetings All!
Long time reader, first time poster... anyway could someone enlighten me as to why foreign cards cost so much more than their English counterparts? Are the print runs smaller in other languages? Is the product just more difficult to come by in the US? Is it a combination of these factors or something else entirely? I have always been astounded as to why foil Jap/Chinese/Korean cards are so crazy expensive. I prefer black bordered (usually old school ones like Beta if applicable), English, foils... but then again to each their own. Thanks.
Hi guys,
I'm really happy about what I found in my mail today:
I really like those
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...n/P1010930.jpg
ps.: Just noticed the picture is bad qualitiy, the birds are with much different colors (red-yellow-orange).
Its not really noticeable on the picture :(

I hate merfolk because people can just stumble into wins with it, especially on the play. Dazing incorrectly and just barfing lords. Burn and merfolk ... 2 decks I really hate losing to.
Anyway ... I sent matt that archon in the hopes that he can high mount some lowly merfolk player.
Amusingly enough, I had a slight contribution to these coming into being. Deadpool is my favorite Marvel character. I recognized that cover art on sight. The person doing the alter didn't, which I realized when they posted a work-in-progress photo in the MTGSal altered forums. I found a big pic of the image (so the artist could see, and thus illustrate, that it's Daredevil and Punisher fighting in the scope view) so it could be altered correctly. You're welcome :P
@ Nedleeds,
PM me back about the Thoughtseize.
Also, I'll try to get a pose of my Gangnam-Style mounting the local Merfolk player. I'm pretty sure Blazing Archon is pretty similar to this:

While this is technically not Legacy pimp, nor even Magic pimp, I thought since most of us grew up in the 80's and 90's, I should share.

The box isn't isn't in amazing shape; it is definitely played especially at the corners but is intact and stable. I picked it up to even out a trade for a Revised dual land. I've been looking for a box ever since I got rid of my copy's box in the late-90's. Plus, now I've got a backup copy of Goldeneye...because I can. Anyone else have fond memories of Goldeneye parties?

In the past, print runs were smaller (although I'm not certain that's as true these days).
There's also in part, I believe, the American love of Asian things which pushes Japanese and Korean in particular to go up in value (I don't think Chinese is usually that much more than English).
German and Russian cards are also getting a fair amount of attention these days.
Just my $0.02.
Fuck that cheater Oddjob.
Our house rules included no Oddjob, no Caves, and Proximity Mines. Proximity Mines while playing Caves was BRUTAL. No fun at all.
Sorry for the crude cut and paste job, but I guess they can't attack you if the song is too catchy?

Couple questions, I found a ton of old simplified Chinese cards and need some help figuring out what's worthwhile. Was traditional Chinese around in darksteel? Are traditional Chinese cards sought after from recent sets? Or is it the other way around.
Thanks,
John
Asian languages explained for Magic cards.

Pretty much, the blocky T-Chinese looks horrid compared to S-Chinese. Around the original Mirrodin block, they stopped printing S-Chinese, and have continued printing only T-Chinese. This accounts for the blocky Chinese font rather than the stylized cursive font. Finally, they stopped printing S-Chinese with the stylized font and returned it to blocky font. This makes S-Chinese in the stylized font more rare and collectible.
Actually it was T-Chinese that was discontinued after during the Mirrodin Block and did not start up again until M11.
