I.e. "I'm actually trying to adapt to my bad MUs a little". Courser helps with Burn and progression in general, Glissa solves combat, Pridemage handles opposing lockpieces, Gaddock Teeg might let you steal G1 vs. ANT/TES, Sorin is a wincon on his own that's actually good vs. Miracles.
And there's:

@Echelon: How do you win without Decays? It's beyond security blanket material for me...and it also does SO MUCH.
Is there any consensus as to whether Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares is better?
Does it mostly depend on how many basics we expect our opponents to have?
I feel like Swords to Plowshares is more consistent, but when Path to Exile is good, its better.
The effect of "exile a problematic creature" is identical. But path is basically "more aggro". It's easier to close out games by giving your opponent a basic land (if they even run them + have any remaining after veteran trigger(s)) instead of X life. Path can also be used against yourself to ramp -- and I've had this come up in competition before. Basically nerf their removal spell by path-ing it in response to get another land + library shuffle effect.Quote:

Nic Fit doesn't give a shit about giving everyone lands. See veteran explorer. Your stuff is generally bigger than theirs. By contrast, a deck like Maverick runs "mana denial" as a core strategy. That's why you'll find Maverick running STP instead (plus KotR can eventually 2-hit the opponent, so giving the opponent additional life is whatever).
*This is a good question to ask because I used to run STP when I first saw the the scriptures of Lord Rhino.
When I converted over to Path, I found myself winning more. The results of [swords or path could be played] became more apparent. I was closing out games I'd otherwise tie/not guarantee a win.
Sword to Plowshares might as well read: "Exile target creature, your opponent gains more turns."
Squeezing thru every point of life is essential, especially against decks with a high velocity (Reanimator, Elves, MUD, Lands, Dredge), giving them a couple extra turns is very problematic. Path to Exile giving them basics, next to Veteran Explorer is in many, if not all, situations not really an issue.
Hey everyone, I have been swayed over to our lord and savior, Siege Rhino and have been putting together the abzan version of Nic Fit. For me one of the main interactions not mentioned that has won me a lot of games is path to exiling a Marit Lage token. Deck usually banks on gaining 20 life when that damn thing is removed, just getting rid of it and then killing them in the next turn or two has won me quite a few games against the various decks that run dark depths.
Simple answer is I don't currently have one. I will make adjustments to the list after I get a feel of what the meta is like in my area, but since I have an intent lying around I will find room for it.Quote:
