Were you also the one that responded to my post on Mtg Salvation? Or was it just another miracle player in Ithaca?
Also as a side note I went to college at IC and worked at Cornell for a while! I miss that town!

What are people's thoughts about sb sfm? People will leave in bolt and decay. That might be fine as those two cards are probably live anyways.
A more general question: when do people side out their cbs vs decay decks? I think you can go all in on overloading them with decay targets or all in on siding them out.
SFM's pretty good in the Mirror.
Schonegger’s (Ein's) Miracles sideboarding

cough, cataclysm in death and taxes.
Yeah, I read that. Fantastic article. I just wanted to hear what was working for others.
Okay so that's what I was leaning towards, but it still makes decay a fairly live card. I see three options.
1. Board out all decay targets like Phillip, including Clique. I don't like this because clique and rip are great.
2. Board out all targets without etb effects.
3. Leave in all targets and board in more to overload them.
Each strategy is good depending on how many decays slash charms they have post board. The second one is the safest, but least punishing.
Pretty sure that was also me. Im currently in the DPT program at IC. Yeah, Ithaca is awesome. So is having 1-3 1k-5k legacy events every month within a one hour drive. I do miss the legacy FNM the store in Ithaca used to do though.
For CB against decay. I take it out against BUG delver. I leave it in against Jund, Junk or shardless BUG. Against those decks, CB is too good not to use, and they dont have many cantrips so they will effectively find less decays/charms/grips thoughout the game. This makes it possible to overload their decays. Also, those decks are not aggressive. Against BUG, you are usually on damage control, playing wack-a-mole with your removal spells. Usually another removal spell would be better than CB even if they did not run decay. The other decays decks are slower and basically always deploy multiple threats. You can take the time to cast a CB and get your value back later with a 2+ for 1 sweeper.
I tend to board in misdirection and divert against abrupt decay. Nothing like having them decay their own sylvan library, goyf, or bob! Except abrupt decay itself, CB is really good against most matchups that run that card, so I don't like to take it out. Then again, I run 2 misdirection and 1 divert in my sideboard, which is more than most decks, but I can more reliably have them when i need them.
Mythic games in Elmira has monthly legacy with guaranteed 1000$+ in prizes. And then recently Eli and friends have (re)started putting on 40 dual tournaments every few months in Binghamton. On rare occasion Jupiter in Vestal also has competitive legacy events. Tales of adventure has semi monthly 40 duals tournament 3hrs from here in PA as well. Also, I am pretty pumped for SCG Syracuse this summer, which I will definitely be playing miracles at.
Some people have been asking me if this was me, and I got to say: Nope.
Was this one of you, guys?

Because it's 100% my new list, and the list at the article of mine that was released three days ahead had a wrong sideboard, which is kind of fixed now.
Greetings
Could you please explain us why the swap between the 3rd flusterstorm to another vendillion in the sideboard?
thanks
The list has been great so far. I wrote a tournament report a few posts back in this thread, but to summarize: I ended up switching the Spell Pierces to Spell Snares when I played the deck in paper. I found that the absence of main deck Cliques hurt when I played against the mirror, so the addition of Spell Snares became an elegant solution to shoring up that weakness. They're also great on the draw against pretty much everything but Sneak and Show.
I've also thought about switching to a split between EE and Supreme Verdict. EE is super flexible, but I often misplayed EE against creature match-ups. It might have been able to kill one threat, but it wouldn't be able to deal with threat #2 that had a different CMC value. I'll be testing out the 2 Explosives regardless though. I think their applicability against a range of threats might be better than a general creature sweeper like Verdict.
The biggest problem I found with the list in the last couple weeks of playing with it has been against DnT. Thalia, Wastelands, and Ports hit really hard against the 21 lands that we run. I always seemed to be short one land and really wished I had a dedicated sideboard card like Lossett's Sulfur Elemental or PVDR's Tsabo's Web.
Last, while I realize Disenchant is easier and safer to cast than Wear/Tear, I found myself in a couple scenarios where having Wear/Tear would have been able to blow up something like an O-ring along with Aethervial or an equipment. I think it's a pretty narrow situation and I probably wouldn't switch over to Wear/Tear without a basic mountain somewhere in the list, but it was something that came up more than once.
By the way, if you're interested in playing your list on my mtgo account shoot me a pm.
Two things.
First, my previous article will not go online on MTG Madness, as there have been scheduling issues - but I was given the permission to post it somewhere else. It will probably be published at Eternal Central. As it was a "first article" once again it will be pretty reptitive if you've read my other ones - but should still contain at least 1000 words of new content. (which still might sound known as I've been advocating this list in this thread for a while - it was meant to be posted before the BoM... so.... )
Secondly @princeofpersia:
Thank you for the offer, many people have offered me that but I think I am, despite being probably the youngest in the whole thread, a kind of an old-school player, preferring real cards and stuff. I still don't see the real value in MTGO-cards. Once the interface is better I might actually buy into it - but not at this stage, in no way.
But yeah, I've been offered Miracles on MODO pretty often, but the problem I have is that I am not sure whether or not my computer is totally virus-free and I don't really feel like risking that much cash, if you understand what I mean?
Death and Taxes. This MU is hard. But winnable. I've been playing a few games against one of the best, Michael Bonde, and came out positively. After the games he remarked that I used my lifepoints way more aggressive than any other Miracle player he had seen so far - means that I was super-patient with my plays. I think this MU is tough, but my list is actually better geared towards beating DnT than lists with Cliques and stuff.
I still think that 2 EE and Disenchant are correct :)
Btw I have been playing 20 games at PT Atlanta against Lejay with Shardless BUG. 10 Pre, 10 Post, 5 OtP, 5 Otd each. I went 4-6 in the preboarded games and 5-5 in the postboarded ones - leading to a dooming result of 9/11. As this should be one of the hardest MUs I am kind of happy with the result - and as both of us know how to operate those decks it's representative, to me.
Greetings
I don't understand why the primer here hasn't been updated. There're more than enough materials already.

Sorry for the very(!) long delay, but here it is, the article that should have helped you decide what deck you should be playing at the BoM. Anyways - list hasn't changed ever since.
Enjoy and let me know if you liked the article.

Just throwing it out there, but one of my LGSs is starting to stream their events at www.twitch.tv/iconicgamesdallas . The legacy events are on Sunday at 1:00 CDT and Tuesday at 7:30 CDT, so if you're feeling bored come check it out. ;) Yesterday's event is posted under past broadcasts and you can check out me crushing Pox around 50 minutes in if you feel so inclined.
I agree with basically everything in your article. The only major difference is that I play -1 Counterspell, -1 Spell Pierce, +1 Spell Snare, +1 Counterbalance. The sideboard has a few differences, but that's mostly due to me still trying to work out if I even like the Stoneforge Mystic thing. I think that at this point I just kind of hate it.
Counterbalance is good against the decks that give you much less time (Storm) or threaten to beat you at your own game (the mirror), so I like having the edge against those decks with them all in the main deck. I've also got a Karakas in the side to up my Land count against the slower decks such as Shardless and the mirror. I think that having a mana advantage is as relevant in the control (or semi-control) match ups as it has ever been, even down to just being able to fire off giant Entreats and still leave up countermagic/tax payments.
